  1. Looks like it is working great, congrats. Mine is not as severe as yours was before you started your course, but I am 24 and have persistent problems and I have a derm appointment on Tuesday to talk about Accutane. Any advice? Also if you don't mind me asking, about how much are you paying monthly for everything that comes along with being on the medication (pills, blood work, etc...)?
  2. Here is my current regimen and I am about 90-95% clear. Morning Wash with CeraVe sensitive cleanser and at night I was with the same cleanser, wait 30 minutes and apply pea sized amount of tretinoin cream, and then wait another 30 minutes and moisturize with CeraVe PM moisturizer. I also take an oral antibiotic. I know that none of the other products are causing the shine because I used them awhile without the tretinoin and I didn't have the oil and shine problem. I have used the tretinoin ever
  3. Call your derm and tell him what is going on. He will have the best advice for you.
  4. In my opinion based on what I have read Accutane and generic versions of isotretinoin such as Claravis have very little to no difference. I would guess it was in your dosage, maybe you require the higher dosage to keep it away. Also from what I have read people who take the 20 mg per day vs the 40 mg per day have had higher chances of their acne returning. I would do research on dosage and the type of isotretinoin you took.
  5. First of all I want to say that I respect that you have tried it and I am sorry that it gave you side effects. But here are my thoughts on a couple things you said. 1. You're right, probably not all have reported hair loss but not all have reported having no side effects either. Until you can prove that they include people that do not report after taking accutane as people who have had no side effects then the statistics are always going to be up for interpretation. Not everyone reports so how d
  6. Ya I go in October 10th. I am a little skeptical to be honest because my face is not that bad but its to the point where I can't get clear and have tried everything and its something I deal with on a daily basis. I have thought about going on accutane for about 2 years and have recently decided its time to go on it. I have talked to a close friend of mine that just got done with it a couple months ago and he ran me through the whole process and what to expect. He told me he couldn't be happier h
  7. I will give you the reader's digest version of my story. I have been on numerous acne medications since I was about 18. BP, clindamycin, tretinoin, tetracycline, sulfur wash, you name it I have tried it. I have moderate acne and 23 years old going on 24 in December. Although my acne is not terrible I am tired of putting all these medications on that temporarily relieve it and then it comes back. I am currently in graduate school earning a Masters in Business Administration and will be in the job
  8. I have found a regime that is working great for my skin and is not too extensive but it causes some minor flaking on my chin and around my mouth. I currently wash with Prascion cleanser in the morning and apply Eucerin sensitive skin lotion that is SPF 15 right after I cleanse. At night I again cleanse with Prascion and then apply clindamycin, BP, and then lotion. Any suggestions on a good gentle exfoliater. I plan to exfoliate about once a week to start with to see how my skin reacts. Thanks in
  9. I personally like to apply retin-A about 20 minutes after washing as I found out applying it when my face is still damp caused irritation for me for some reason. I read about it and others had the same problem. I usually would then apply moisturizer about 10-15 minutes after that. I think it all depends on your skin.
  10. Apply moisturizer even if you can't stand to do it because it makes your skin feel even worse. It WILL pay off in the long run trust me. I have 5% BP prescribed to me and at first I wanted my face to dry out because I thought that would dry out my acne and it would go away. Boy was I wrong, it caused even more irritation and my face was red all the time. I took a leap against my will and started applying moisturizer after washing and applying topicals. The difference was night and day. Sure the
  11. Has anybody tried either of these lotions from Paula's choice? I have a slight shine after awhile on my face and was looking for something to control it. http://www.paulaschoice.com/product/skin-b...el/moisturizers http://www.paulaschoice.com/product/hydral...sturizers\ If you haven't tried either of these take a look and let me know what you think. Also if you have any other suggestions for moisturizers that will help control shine please let me know. Thanks!
  12. I was put on Prascion cleanser at my last derm visit. My skin was in fairly good shape but just after one day of using this cleanser I started breaking out. Here is a link to information about the cleanser... http://www.drugs.com/mtm/prascion.html Could this be an initial breakout just after one day? I have read reviews on the cleanser and almost everyone swears by it. I am using the cleanser twice a day and applying a retinoid cream at night after I cleanse.
  13. I have been searching for a good moisturizer and stumbled across this. http://www.walmart.com/ip/SPF-30-Sensitive...729#Ingredients Has anybody used this stuff? It has zinc oxide and titanium dioxide as its two main active ingredients. Let me know what you think. I have sensitive skin by the way.
  14. Has anyone tried this... http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/burt'...ct#BVRRWidgetID Look at the ingredients and tell me what you think. I figured some of the ingredients such as vegetable oil would cause acne but read all the reviews they are all positive, even the ones about acne.
  15. Tell me if you guys think this is whats going on... So my face is pretty much clear right now except for my forehead. I don't have extremely noticeable acne on my forehead but instead I have some bumps that look more like some sort of irritation. I just started using hair paste again and I would put it on after my shower. I would then walk to class and its been extremely hot here so I would sweat on the way to class and I would have sweat on my forehead when I got there. I just recently started
