  1. Hi Everyone, I'm currently taking a whole army of supplements: (It's costing me a fortune, but so would Accutane, so it's worth it) Which supplements should I take with food and which should I not take with others? (Preferably I would just pop them all with breakfast) Zinc (contains Zinc Gluconate and Vit A) Vit D3 Omega 3 (contains EPA, DHA and Vit E) Magnesium Vit C I3C Complex(contains I3C, DIM, Curcumin, Resveratol, Quercetin, Lycopene, EGCG, Co Q10, Vit B6, Selenium) For that matter -
  2. I wouldn't recommend it. It's important to keep your blood sugar stable - which is why a lot of people on this board eats low gi and avoids sugar. Eating too little will probably mess about with your blood sugar levels, which in turn will mess with your hormones, which will cause more oily skin, which will cause more acne. (To make a long story short) Rather eat small amounts of good (low gi) things often. From personal experience I also know that being too hungry makes me eat stuff
  3. The water test is not too reliable - apparently everybody fails it - from what I hear. So maybe don't take it too seriously. Coconut oil is good for killing candida. There are also loads of candida diets on the web. - basically comes down to starving the candida to death by not eating any sugar/fruit/hi GI carbs/yeast/molds for a few weeks.
  4. I make my own easy chocolate: 5 tablespoons coconut oil (melted) 5 tablespoons cocao powder mix -->(in plastic sandwich container the size of a slab chocolate) 5 tablespoons desiccated coconut (Fine) sweetener (anything else you want to add like nuts/mint/raisins) mix spread evenly in container refrigerate for 20 min Yummy!!
  5. Heya, I understand your frustration. I got to a point where I was only eating sweet potato, spaghetti squash, butternut and fish. ONLY! I wanted to give up hope and was stressed about food all the time. I found lately that if I have enough sleep and less stress, I can handle a lot more foods and my skin is still clear. At the moment I am avoiding: Dairy, Gluten, Sugar & Hi GI foods (including FRUIT) and Chilli(due to allergy) I have relaxed a lot on the other things I eat and
  6. Heya, Bulgur wheat contains gluten, so it could be the type of wheat. http://www.celiac.com/articles/182/1/Unsaf...ents/Page1.html It's hard to say without knowing what else you ate the previous few days. A lot of people react to gluten - so I won't be to quick to dismiss it as a cause. It can take up to 4 days to react to a food. I find some foods take me 4 days and then give me deep cysts (dairy and gluten) Some foods give me white heads the next day - (corn syrup and sugar) I avoid gluten
  7. )ノ)--> QUOTE (joris ヘ(ヘ)(ノ)ノ @ Mar 31 2011, 06:54 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>ps. How did you get your own food on a plane! I demand an awnser Easy! I packed it in plastic containers like a would to take a lunch box to work and put it in hand luggage. It was probably nuked when it went through the scanner - but airport security and the dogs didn't worry about it at all. The nice Emirates air steward even warmed it up for me! Don't know if I would try this going into the US or Kore
  8. Corn syrup gives me little white pimples on my chin. I noticed it after eating a health bar with seeds and corn syrup but dairy free and gluten free.
  9. Heya guys! I took a flight from South Africa to London via Dubai. The trip took 23 hours in total and I didn't sleep at all. I took my own food on the flights: Mackerel, Spaghetti squash, Sweet potato and Butternut. The day after I landed I got a huge cyst! It couldn't have been food ---> My guess: No sleep!! Since then I have been sleeping a lot and because of visiting my sister I have been eating chocolate, wine, coffee and foods I don't normally (but a relatively healthy diet) My skin
  10. Hi Everyone, I'm in the UK for the week and I would like to see if I can get a hold of PureDeming Intense Gel R-ALA. Does anyone know where I can find it? Alternatively I would like to get something by Paula's choice for acne red marks, wrinkles and pores. Which product is the best? (And where in the UK can I get it?) (It's hard to find these things in South Africa) A
  11. No they don't. They feel sorry for you or think you're a freak. I don't think I'm better than other people because I eat a healthier diet. One cookie won't DAMAGE you. The human species evolved to deal with quite alot. My grandad lived till a ripe old age, died quietly in his sleep without a trace of cancer or acne - And he owned a bakery.
  12. Apart from eggs, I'm off the same things. I also get days when it feels like absolutely everything makes me bloated and makes my stomach upset. I went to a gastroenterologist and he is testing me for Celiac disease and some other things. I've been on some rather nasty anti-biotics for my skin before and he said it can be that I wiped out too many good bacteria and something went wrong or it could be Celiac disease or something else. If you are Celiac then even tiny amounts can upset y
  13. Heya, I eliminated lots of stuff until I became clear. Now I'm adding a food back every 4 days. (And eat is 2 meals a day for 2 days) Some things break me out within hours, some take 4 days. It's nice to have a "safe zone" of foods I can go back too. I started out by eliminating things that broke out other people and foods people are often allergic too. Also the "families" of foods I think I could be allergic too. (Like nightshades - I'm trying potato at the moment and if it's ok I'll try othe
  14. I'm sorry you didn't find your answers. I'm lucky to be able to say I'm getting there. - Not as easily as some others, but I'm getting there. If you take a break and maybe one day decide to try the Holistic thing again - we won't hold a grudge!! (I'm a bit jealous of people who eat pizza - to be honest.) Either way - hope you find a solution that works for you!
