  1. I am female. Why did you assume I was male? I am eating grassfed beef, eggs, and coconut is more inflammatory so i want to avoid that. I do go to the gym but I am avoiding moderate cardio because I do not want to lose weight. What is your diet like? Thanks for responding to my thread! Its nice to hear from somebody!
  2. Well, I broke out yesterday because I ate foods that I knew would probably aggravate my acne. I ate a huge serving of boston market's mashed potatoes and spaghetti with cheese. I did this for two reasons: to see if it would make me break out and I wanted to intake more calories Today, I have gone back to my diet and my acne is already going down. I am at 123 lbs and I am 5'7. I really don't want to go below 120lbs and I am having a difficult time eating non processed foods that are high in cal
  3. Anyone suggest high calorie foods? Its hard because of my strict diet and limiting all dairy and wheat/grains (I do have oatmeal sometimes). While my acne is doing great and I love the results, I dont like how I feel physically. I am not working out as hard because my calorie intake is half as what it used to be. What can I eat that will give me lots of calories? My clothes are not fitting and I dont feel as healthy but then again, my acne is doing great. Why can't I have both?
  4. I eat many foods in that category and my face is clearing up each day. You just got to do what works for you. Some foods may aggravate acne in you but not me. If those foods dont affect your face, don't worry about it.
  5. thanks for the kind words and post! Glad to hear thing are working out for you too! I also feel better when not consuming dairy. It seems cheese doesn't bother me so much but I haven't had a drink of milk in about a month. I do miss it though! I am buying calcium and vitamin D enriched Tropicana orange juice. So far, so good.
  6. I experimented with organic, dandelion root for about 5 weeks and it definitely helped clear me out. I drank 3 cups a day and I believe it did cleanse me. I am not sure of what benefits I received but I don't think it did any harm. I found the dandelion root at Whole Foods. I am not sure of a cleanse after antibotics...you may want to google it.
  7. I am glad I give you some hope! Are you getting enough healthy fats? I have olive oil each day and each week, larabars, which have pecans and almonds. Have you tried grassfed beef? Tonight, I am making low glycemic pasta with local, organic tomatoes and grassfed beef. It seems to really help with my acne. I've been on my diet for 3 weeks now.
  8. I have a thread on it: http://www.acne.org/messageboard/Anti-Infl...et-t282858.html
  9. For me, it comes down to the fact that cow's milk is for a calf..like human milk is for a human. They constantly impregnate the cows and take the calf away.. I just do not want to support that process.
  10. If you have no proof dairy causes your acne, i dont see why you shouldnt try the goats milk yogurt. Here are ways to get pro-biotics from your diet without milk: http://nourishedkitchen.com/dairy-free-probiotics/ Here is a dairy free supplement: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00013YXK...ASIN=B00013YXKY
  11. It's great to hear you found a diet that has helped with your acne! It must feel nice to treat your body with the respect and care it deserves! I have experienced similiar circumstances and I was raised on a very processed diet. We've come a long way, huh? I have a couple questions: How often do you exercise? How many calories do you intake daily? What about fruits? Right now, I am on an anti inflammatory diet. On a daily basis, I eat a select group of fruits, veggies, protein and flaxseed b
  12. Thanks. It sounds like you eat pretty healthy. Have you linked your acne to any specific diet...iodine/soy/dairy? If not, it might be good to rest those fears. As you probably know, one thing that may make me break out, may not cause it for you. Flaxseeds have not affected me at all and I don't take in any soy.
  13. Have you thought about taking a multivtitamin? Secondly, what areas of your diet are limiting, if any? What are you looking for in these vitamins? finally, I have been eating flaxseed for 2 weeks now and I have no acne.
  14. Eight Reasons to NOT drink Milk: “…..The 9 million cows living on dairy farms in the United States spend most of their lives in large sheds or on feces-caked mud lots, where disease is rampant. Cows raised for their milk are repeatedly impregnated. Their babies are taken away so that humans can drink the milk intended for the calves. When their exhausted bodies can no longer provide enough milk, they are sent to slaughter and ground up for hamburgers….†http://thebovine.wordpress.com/20
  15. It could be a fructose intolerance but according to my inflammation chart, most fruits are minus, not plus. blueberries -28 cantelope plus 78 apple is -21 cherries -47 grapes -56 strawberries plus 28 Pineapple plus 65 Why not try to eat just cantelope, pineapple, and strawberries and see what happens.
