  1. I have been there. flaxseeds broke me out really badly too.
  2. I feel like I wrote all of this. Just dont know how to deal with this crap anymore. You are not alone!
  3. Hey there. I am on my 6th months spiro treatment too. My skin has been so dry that it was giving me weird itchy bumps on neck and jaw line. To combat that, I started using cetaphil cream, and kept getting one or two irritated tiny red bumps, and 5 days later I had even more. So today I washed my face and I put on aveeno daily moisturizer. And I did not itch at all like I do with Cetaphil cream. I am hoping aveeno turns out to be good for me. is it still working for you?
  4. Not doing all that great myself. I have extremely dry itchy skin on 150 mg. I am dropping to 125. I have started getting weird itchy skin colored bumps on jawline and neck. For me, i'm feeling its my excess dryness that might be causing it. Lots of people use tazorac but I have never used it. Tazorac might help in shedding off the dead skin layer. that can help you. As for me, i dont even know if the weird small soft bumps are allergies or what! They started in march, after a month being on 150
  5. how is your skin doing espinilla? Yeah it sucks! if i am not getting bumbs I am giving myself one be picking. Things would have been soo much better otherwise. I am trying to work on this. Another problem for me is those tiny clogged pores on my upper jaw bone right under my right eye. My skin is so delicate there and quite dry on top of it all. Any tips for keeping that place clear. i. e which lotion to use. I just started my period today, and its high pollen season here. I am experienc
  6. Hey I am glad you're doing good. I am about to complete my 5 months. I am doing alright not perfect but alright. I am just very itchy around my jaw line and neck. And I have a few tiny very itchy bumps on my neck since end of march. I feel its related to pollen in the air and allergies. At the same time, I also have a small rash on the side of my eye and on my cheek below it. My skin is extremely dry..like extremelllyyy dry on my neck and aroung my eyes where I have the small itchy bumps. I hav

    spiro + yaz

Hey there I am exactly one month behind you with spiro. I am glad its working out for you. Its going alright for me as well. I am specifically just taking it for my silly monthly acne due to periods. Like yourself, I consider myself an OCD and a hypochondriac. lol Also, I am a bad picker, if nothing else I would just pick off my dry skin. I am kind of going through the same with a bigggggg pink extremely flakey mark on my cheek but mine was after mindless picking. which left a huge nail mark c

    Spironolactone

Hey there! I get looonng periods after almost every two weeks. lol. I think Spiro often causes irregularities if taken w/o BCP. Also, usually with time these irregularities get better. My physician told me not to worry about it much. Also, I've heard that once a person stops spiro, the periods goes back to normal. So its not like a BC that messes you up for months and months after I believe. Hope I helped.

  12. Sigh* My OCD and usless picking is costing me a lot. I gave myself a cut after mindless picking which kind of got infected. I wish I could stop myself from touching my face.
  13. Yup, I got couple of red bumps last month too but I think they were mainly caused by irritation from AHA. I do get whiteheads on my forehead now here and there. They're quite small though. I have OCD and bad skin picking habit. You wouldn't believe it, but I sometimes end up picking nothing or mostly I am picking at nothing. A lot of marks that I do get are not from pimple but from stupid picking. I just picked last night, I digged my nails in my skin.My poor sensitive skin can only take so much
  14. We are kind of similar, as I am on my fourth month too, end of fourth month. My skin has gotten better but I, too, get small clogged pores on my forehead, and yesterday I got a small pimple which is on its way out. But yeah I didn't get much in this month. Lets hope these silly clogged pores stop too. I mean its not that bad with clogged pores but still. Has the frequency of your white head lessened. For me it is decreasing. I hope it gets better and better for both of us.
  15. I have a similar story as you. I was perfectly clear on doxy from age 18 until about age 24. I began to break-out right around the time of my period. It took me MONTHS to realize the pattern. Once I did I was put on Spiro. I have been on it for almost 6 weeks now. (Only 50mgs/ 100mgs 2 weeks before my period. ) I am having it increased on Monday. I DID experience some break-outs during my period, but definitely have noticed it was not as severe as prior non-Spiro months. I think you need to give
  16. I dont want to discourage any of the beginner spiro user. I hope my post help somebody who is still struggling. Spiro is a big help no doubt, but patient is the key. EVen in month four, you could see a pimple here and there. So just be patience, and thats what I am trying to do, as slowly and gradually my skin gets better. yes it is taking months...but progress is there.
  17. Hey there! I have been on spiro 4 months. Before starting spiro, I was going through major depression for a number of reasons and stupid acne breakouts before my monthly visitor was one of the biggest reason. I suffered from major depression and anxiety attacks quite a lot. However, I never went on anti-depressant. For me, spiro made me anxious innitially, and a month on spiro was kind of like a roller coaster. However, eventually I feel spiro has really helped me with my moods and anxiety. wh
  18. Ok so it has been a long time since I last posted. I will write a little update. I have been on spiro for exactly 4 months now. Last month was pretty good. I only got two tiny hair bumps because I used a weird razor-like thing for upper lips hair. My skin is alright I guess. I dont particularly like its texture. i wouldn't say my skin has become beautiful or anything. For some reason i feel the red marks I get while on spiro last quite long...So my extra sensitive skin still looks rough with mar
  19. Hey, Just wanted to say hang in there with spiro. It takes quite some time with spiro. With me it has taken its sweet time too. Besides, it has hardly been two months for you. And its great that doctor has increased your dosage. You will surely see some changes now gradually. Usually, a higher dose of around 100-150 and at time 200 works for this. I say your dose is good enough now. Just be patient. I just don understand why you're given so many topicals. I have a great doctor, and he didn't pre
  20. Hey girls I have completed my third month on spiro. yayyy! my skin is so flaky all the time. Anyway, thats not the point of this post. The period I got this month has been extremely long. It doesn't bother me much, but I dont wanna lose weight because of that. I am trying to gain weight. Over the past 6-8 months, I have lost a lot of weight because of depressing acne diets that didn't do anything but made me skinnier and more prone to acne. Do you have any tips for me. I am just afraid that lon
  21. Yup, I will say the same. Take spironolactone!! if you can deal with the irregular periods though. But everyone is different. And the good thing is once you want to come off spiro, you dont have much side effects i.e messed up periods. You pretty much go back to normal. I am planning to stay on spiro until I decide to have a baby. I do have crazy periods though cuz I am not taking a BCP and not planning to either.
  22. I am having the longest period of my life. Its never ending. arrrgggg maybe I shouls lower my dose to a 100 for a few ays. I hope it ends this month. lol seriously.
  23. Girls, I have been there. I have done that diet thing and tried to avoid food. It didn't help me at all. It all started with me getting a nasty pimple or two, and me deciding that I have had enough junk. I started avoiding a lot of food and became Vitamin D deficient, and my acne only got worse. Where as before, i did not get much hormonal stuff, i started getting more and more painful one with my healthy veggie and fruit diet. I started losing a lotttt of weight, became very depressed. My immun
  24. Yeah talk about long periods, dont even ask about mine. lol last almost 10-14 days. My god! However, my doctor thinks it alright, and it will go away once I stop taking the med, or once I am far into taking spiro. Anyway, its not really a toll on my health either. Just eat up, and consume iron rish foods. You will be fine Atan.
  25. Hey seems like you're having a little IB. Mine happened after two weeks too. First two weeks were good, and then bam. And to be honest, 37 days are nothing to expect much improvement at all. Expect to see improvement in your third month or so. And the kind of breakouts you are having, they dont look cystic or big at all, they look like pink bump, like irritation bumps. thats what I got too from spiro. It will imrpove. Just hang in there. Dont lose hope. You have only been a little more than a
