  1. I thought I'd go ahead and do a quick update over here as to what I'm experiencing in my first week of going Caveman. Just to recap, I've pretty well been clear of inflamed/active acne since.. I guess 2011? At that point I'd still regularly get a few zits, and near the end of that year and into 2012 is when those periodic breakouts grew further and further apart until they no longer concerned me (a zit, maybe two, occurring maybe once a month or less). But during this time I still had issues
  2. So a bit of backstory. I've had issues with acne since I was 14-and-a-half, and by the time I was maybe 17 my skin was pretty much in great condition acne-wise. I still had oily skin (and dehydrated, which I was not aware of at the time) and it could get quite bad but I didn't break out much and when I did it was just for a little while. In 2010 my acne abruptly got worse after a few months of playing around with different (mostly "natural") skincare. It was focused on my chin and between my bro

Overall my skin has improved a lot over the last few months, but due to some remaining struggles with quitting the picking habit, I've encountered a few issues along the way. Healing spot along the lower lip (lesion is gone, most of redness is gone as well - it's been about 2 days), one on my outer cheek and some healing red marks between my eyebrows. I do wish I had more improvement, but I can't complain considering I'm letting it all take its course. Still on water-only routine

Couldn't find memory card, so webcam pics will have to do Aftermath of picking, about a week and a half after the incident. One spot on each cheek and two small ones on my chin, but that's about it now other than some minor clearing flesh bumps.

  12. I've been clear now for some time, getting occasional pimples (maybe 2-3 a month?). Those lessened quite a bite over time, but in the last few months I've definitely started picking again. I pick at small whiteheads and flesh bumps, and then those worsen, and then those prompt me to pick... and on goes the cycle. I've refrained from picking for 1-2 weeks now and the changes are great. My forehead flesh bumps are almost flat (although still there, but I can barely feel or see them), the minor clo

Feeling a bit unhappy with my skin right now. Poor sleep is leaving my skin rougher and the marks a bit more noticeable. I also irritated my face this past week by rubbing off flaking skin in the shower, which I know I must not do, as it did not actually help in the long run. Waiting this all out is starting to feel a bit taxing Darkened the image so that the marks and scarring would be more apparent as well.

  16. My issues with acne began when I was 14, after tweezing my brows for the first time and using skincare products to try and clear it up. Thankfully my moderate acne cleared up to very mild to mild when I found a cleanser that worked for my skin, but my skin started to become more sensitive and thinner as a result of the daily manual exfoliation offered by the product. In 2010, I changed my routine around in hopes of finally finding a concrete routine that would work at keeping away all of the acn

A few hours post-shower. Overall, I'm pretty happy with how my skin is looking entering into the new year! Except for MONSTER ZIT! But since it's really the only zit, it doesn't bother me that much.

  21. Hi everyone, my name is Ashley, and I just wanted to post a little something here for those still interested in water-only or Caveman routines. I stopped posting on these forums in the summer. I now only return to post update pictures in my gallery of my red marks and scars. I've been clear of acne since August or September, but I still get a few pimples here and there (these are just not acne-related, as they are not consistent or regular). Aside from the scarring, red marks, and minor flesh

Skin started freaking out a bit when finals were coming around, and I also started freaking out a bit, and picked a bit. Hence a few pimples and stressed-looking skin This is the day after my last final, and I already noticed that my new pimples from finals were a lot smaller and that my skin just felt and looked better! No makeup, just testing out a new lipstick (CoverGirl Lip Perfection in Embrace)
