  1. I don't really post on the forums anymore but I wanted to just give my own advice to you, as someone who's been water-only since 2011: It doesn't work for everyone. It might work for you with time, but if you are finding that right now it's worse, then I recommend going back to whatever regimen has worked the best so far. If you are determined to see if a no-product approach works for you then instead of twice a day usage you could cut it back to once a day. However, popping whiteheads will a
  2. Oh wow! I've discovered something new. It's called moderation Yeah.. wait moder- what is that? Yeah. So like I posted earlier I have been using washcloths. And let me just say, excellent for exfoliation! But not so great for my face every day, probably because I don't use a moisturizer. I saw that using it lightly daily didn't work well, using it hard worked well in terms of keeping away flaking but it resulted in lots of redness, irritation, oiliness, and BREAKING THE EFF OUT. Thankfully th
  3. I've been feeling kinda down about my skin lately. I started picking at my face (little clogs or whiteheads) and the results of said picking are quite visible on my face. I have 5 tiny picked-at scabs on my chin and I picked at a small zit on my outer cheek this morning. I had also used my Clinique makeup remover on my brows last week when I tried brow filler for the first time in years, and I wound up with clogs and tiny pustules there that are now pretty well gone except for one scab (sticking
  4. Just to recap, I've pretty well been clear of inflamed/active acne since.. I guess 2011? At that point I'd still regularly get a few zits, and near the end of that year and into 2012 is when those periodic breakouts grew further and further apart until they no longer concerned me (a zit, maybe two, occurring maybe once a month or less). But during this time I still had issues with some flesh bumps/clogged pores, mostly on my forehead but also on my chin and a bit on my cheeks. My marks were also

    Please Help Me!

I 2nd this recommendation. When my acne was quite bad in 2010 I stopped looking in the mirror for some time and emotionally, it did help. And it helped me to not pick. If not looking isn't an option then only look in one mirror (e.g. your bathroom mirror only) and ONLY from a distance. I'd recommend trying to do this for at least a month. Otherwise I'd say that you just need to do some detective work to try and pinpoint the likely cause or causes of your acne. Mine was easy to determine (pic
  6. "4) My clogs are barely an issue now. They are still there a bit, but wow... It's incredible how much it has improved! Especially on my chin, which was full of under-the-skin ones, now it's almost clear. My forehead still has some minor bumpies that I can see in the light but I can only feel a few sometimes. So I dunno how that area will play out. Overall I'm happy with the state of my skin in relation to clogs!"
  7. Thanks! We're giving him his antibiotics and such, but it's just a matter of time unfortunately.

  9. I found out today that my cat has cancer and is likely going to die within the next few months or sooner. For a while I'm most likely going to forego updating on here just because I want to spend as much of my time focusing on keeping him company when I can while still trying to get through this semester. It's been a hard year for me in regards to just... terrible life things, which I'm sure few here have had to experience (which I'm thankful for). I am quite upset over this, I love my cat dearl

  11. Hi Paolo. I don't really post here anymore (not since 2011 I believe?) but I do creep the forums sometimes and more regularly now that I'm posting my progress on my own blog with going Caveman. I was previously water-only since 2011 and I experienced congestion on my forehead and chin and dehydration. My acne cleared up but since maybe the summer my skin started getting oilier-looking and more congested on my forehead so for the last ~3 weeks I've been on no-wash. I'm not strict about it, my man
  12. For what purpose? Like I said I'm already clear, I just get periodic zits (I have an almost zit right now, either from rubbing my face or from the lotion I used on my arms yesterday transferring to my face; I also have an almost whitehead from picking at a clog and a picked-at scabbing whitehead, and another blind spot on my chin from, you guessed it, picking. But considering that's really all that's on my face and it's almost all due to picking, I can't complain), and I have clogged pores whic

  14. My very last two pictures are clearly adequate portrayals of my skin, albeit slightly old. If you did not go to my gallery, I shall list the last pictures I uploaded (in comparison to my face now, I am actually surprised that I was happy with my skin in these pictures! I had redness from scratching on one side - it looks kind of orangey compared to the rest of my face - and two spots that I clearly picked at but everything else appears to be red marks or fairly old healing scarring): http://www
  15. Different skincare approaches work differently for everyone A number of people here have in the past reported success with this routine. I've seen other accounts of people who rarely wash/rinse simply because they hate the feel of water on the skin or because of other issues like eczema or very irritated skin. I've also been water-only since 2011, which cleared up my acne. I also cleared up by not exfoliating - my skin exfoliates itself naturally now, as it should, and I do not need to assist i

Another late reply, but thanks I cut my hair a while ago.. it's at a really awkward length now and it's not long enough to do it the way I had it here anymore

Late reply and not sure if you'll read this, but I have never taken Accutane. This picture was pretty much almost all red marks if I recall correctly!

A super late reply, but awe thanks! I am soooo happy though that my skin is way better than it was here. I don't think my marks even show up in webcam pics anymore (even taken in natural lighting)!

Hi, I know it's a late reply but when I was posting these pics I wasn't able to access/view the comments! Anyways, I wasn't wearing any makeup - my marks had just faded more and my skin was less irritated than it would be in later months

I know it's a late reply, but when I was still posting update pics I wasn't able to view/access comments! Now I can so... thanks! It's nice to hear that from someone considering my skin was so bad compared to how it was a few years prior and to how it is now.

Hi, at this point when the image was taken I was just washing my face with water once a day in the shower. I've been product-free since early 2011 (wow, almost 2 years now!) and my skin is definitely nicer than it was in this picture!
