  1. I know a lot of people have probably heard of this before, but ever since I discovered aspirin masks they have truly become a part of my regimen (I'm talking 4 to 5 times a week or more). They're especially nice if you have some inflammation or swelling, but they are great if you just want to boost your complexion and make your skin feel nice and soft. I wanted to share this in case anyone hasn't heard of this or is curious to try it. This remedy has performed some miracles for me in those si
  2. We must be on the same pack-cycle! I am surprised I got the pimple this early in the dark blue pills. I usually get it towards the end. I am hoping I don't get another one later this week!!! Do you use any other products? Neutrogena Deep Clean Facial Cleanser Paula's Choice 2% BHA liquid Neutrogena On The Spot 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cetaphil Moisturizer Aspirin and honey masks at least 4 times a week (amazing!) Birth control alone doesn't keep me clear, but it does help control one
  3. The people who truly care about you will love you no matter what your skin looks like, and anyone else doesn't even deserve to have you in their lives.
  4. 99% of the time, it's my chin as well. It seems like before Ortho I would always get a big cyst-like pimple there in my pre-period breakouts, so I guess I should be thankful it's only the occasional pimple now. But still, it's rather annoying, it makes me dread that section of pills haha I started my dark blues yesterday too, so hopefully no chin pimples for me!
  5. I love coconut oil for my hair, but I wouldn't use it on my face. It got rated 4 out of 5 on the comedogenicity scale on the zerozoits website, so even though I've also read it's good for acne, I think it's best left for body, hair, and eating (yum).
  6. I've never used the cream, but creams are typically thicker than lotions. I've been using the lotion (the one that's labeled "for all skin types") for a long time and I think it's plenty moisturizing and really like it. I think the cream would be a little too much for facial use.
  7. Hi there! I'm currently on my fourth bottle of Paula's Choice BHA liquid and have had great results with it. As far as the small bumps you're experiencing, they are a normal part of starting a chemical exfoliant product, based on my own experience and what I've read. It's just a purging stage that shouldn't last too long. Think of it as a sign that the product is working, because many of those little bumps would have probably inflamed into pimples. As far as your other questions: -The greas
  8. I started Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo a little over a year ago, and my face hasn't looked this good in so long. It didn't happen overnight though; it took about 6 months for me to get as clear as I am now, but it was worth sticking with it. If I do get the occasional pimple, I get it on the third set of pills, the darkest blue ones, but I've always broken out the week before my period so it's understandable. Just don't worry if you don't get amazing results immediately, they'll probably come with time
  9. I also take Tri-Cyclen Lo and I love it. Your acne sounds a lot like mine, and after about 6 months on the pill I am consistently clear for the first time since I can remember. I haven't had any major side effects, except maybe a little breast enlargement and weight gain (nothing significant or noticeable, so don't be disappointed if you don't get the results you expect). I have also found that I get a lot less cramps and headaches around my time of the month and have a much more tolerable per
  10. I always hated lipstick because I hate how heavy it can look, but then I discovered that if you lightly dab the color on and rub your lips together, it actually gives the look of a stain and doesn't look so thick. I never swipe lipstick on my whole lips, just dab it in the center and rub. I also love the marker-type lips stains. They seriously last forever. You just need balm over them to keep lips moisturized (but I see I'm not alone in my obsession with lip balms :]). I don't wear lip color
  11. That has randomly happened to me before and I've never been on Accutane. It's usually much lighter and shorter than a regular period. If you feel concerned don't hesitate to ask your doctor, but I wouldn't really worry too much unless it lasts a really long time or is super heavy.
  12. You could totally get away with that because it sounds so good/complicated!
  13. I use the BHA liquid twice a day with no problems. I agree with Greentiger about BHA being enough to do it all, even if AHA may be better at sloughing off dead surface skin. But the BHA liquid is like my holy water, it seriously transformed my skin, so that's probably why I always recommend that so highly. If you had to choose one, I'd say choose BHA any day simply because I think it's more appropriate for acne prone skin. (I did see a bit of a difference when I used the P'sC 10% AHA treatment
  14. I use and love Paula's Choice BHA liquid. I've used the AHA gel and just was not thrilled. It burned more than the BHA ever did and I just didn't like the way it felt on my skin. It didn't absorb well and I just feel like the BHA is so much more effective at preventing pimples, while also helping flakes and such. If you'd like a recommendation, you could try Paula Begoun RESIST Weekly Resurfacing Treatment, which is a 10% AHA liquid. As its name suggests it's intended for weekly use and absor
