  1. I've posted this before, but this is what I do to try not to pick... I put on hand lotion that has a rather potent smell. I got some from Victoria's Secret for X-mas and it smells ok (it doesn't make me sick or anything) but it is really strong. When my hand goes flying to my face, the smell reminds me it shouldn't be there. That and having lotion on my hands and touching my face creeps me out a bit. Of course, after a while, I was compulsively washing my hands and applying lotion. One hab
  2. I've been taking low estrogen birth control pills since about September and have been miserable since. It has done nothing for my acne (I'm actually breaking out on my chest and back now), and I still have severe cramping and spotting. I had taken Ortho-TriCyclene in the past and had great results with my skin, but it was an emotional roller coaster ride towards the last 3 months (was on it for a year). I'm starting to think that for me, hormones are playing a big part of my acne. I've been u
  3. kiraayn- Your story fits mine almost to a "T" starting age, age now, tried everything! Was laughed at by two derms when I politely disagreed in their comments that I would "grow out of it." I haven't been to a dermatologist since I was 20 and that one was at my undergrad. Then I graduated and haven't gone to a new one. If I do go back, I'm asking flat out if I can take it, but I don't want to be a doctor hopper. My experience with dermatologists up to now have not been good, so I need to collec
  4. Cover Girl foundation. Chapstick. Nothing like minimalism. Ha!
  5. You might want to cut out the moisturizer with Salicylic Acid for a while and see if it makes a difference. I was using a foundation with Salicyclic Acid and recently changed to one that was designed more for sensitive skin and it helped immediately. Of course, I might just be incredibly sensitive toward this stuff, even with the amounts found in make-up. But if you don't have any problems with it, then don't bother.
  6. Here is something that I do to lessen how much I pick: Find a smelly lotion, not one that will turn your stomach but something that is potent. I have a Victoria's Secret lotion that smells exactly like Hawaiian Punch and use it on your hands, alot. For some reason since the smell is so strong, when my hands are near my face I immediately realize it and stop. Also, when I have lotion on my hands, just the thought of touching my face is a bit creepy. It is not 100% effective, but close.
  7. It does for me. Everytime I use it my face gets red and tender, break out bad in places that I usually don't have a problem (cheeks). Not good stuff.
  8. I've been having this problem too, except I'm not entirely convinced that it's acne...I think that I'm developing ingrown hairs, which is a bit creepy because I'm female. So far I haven't found much that really helps, so let me know if you find something that works.
  9. I've been having this same problem too. I used to have very mild breakouts on my back and chest when I was 15, but it went away within a year. Now that I'm 23, I'm breaking out worse (everywhere for that matter). What gives?
  10. It did not work for me, but I think it was because I have developed a sensitivity to b.p. in the past 4-5 years or so. I can't use any bp or salcyclic acid, go figure!
