  1. Just cut out the rum and see how that goes.
  2. I love adding Vitamin C powder or tablets to my green drinks. I don't eat fruit, so it really masks the bitterness. It has a sweet/tart flavor, without all the sugar/fructose from fruit. This is great for people who can't stomach straight green drinks. Add about 1000mg of Vitamin C (ascorbic acid and/or calcium ascorbate) per cup and blend really well with the rest of your green drink. Also if this has been posted before I apologize. This thread is rather big.
  3. Coconut oil is king. Better than olive oil and cheaper too.
  4. That's the word I was looking for - crutch. Personally, I have a few other family issues to deal with at the moment so that needs my attention. But once that's sorted and I can take time for myself, I'll be looking at seeking some professional advice on this. For the most part, I can articulate it pretty well and I know what it is I want to deal with, so I don't think it will be too hard to start fixing it. Just that I think I need some help to get there. A bit of a long road perhaps, given t
  5. Well said sir! It is easy to justify a lot of things in life because of our physical "ailments", but when they disappear due to diet or other regimens and eventually heal, we are left with emotional and mental scars. It's a rude awakening when one day you realize the crutch isn't there to blame and you feel lost. All you can do is move on, learn, educate yourself and become a better man. What goes around comes around.
  6. I would like to add something to this thread. This section hasn't driven me crazy. That is all.
  7. alternavista, are you saying Kliphten should apply BHA in the morning and BP at night? Or BHA in the morning and use aspirin water at night?
  8. Lamb liver, I have to try that! Now I have to find a market that has it and hopefully not very expensive. Meat and vegetables, oh so lovely!
  9. I eat a few avocados a week (alternate between days) and blueberries (1/2 cup) a couple times a month. Fruit isn't a big portion of my paleo diet. Concentrate on getting more green vegetables in your diet. You could be reacting to the sugars in fruit. Limit it and eat or drink more greens! Can't stand the taste? Use a small portion of fruit to mask the flavor. I emphasize the small portion ex: slice of green apple or a couple of blueberries to make it palatable. thank you for answer! A

  11. The China Study is flawed, very biased, distorted and has been poked to death. There are so many holes in it, if it was cheese, it would be called Swiss (technically dimples more than holes, but never mind that). Don't take my word for it, analyze it and see if you find any cracks in it: Denise Minger's website (where the China Study flaws are centrally located): http://rawfoodsos.com/2010/07/07/the-china...fact-or-fallac/ Denise Minger's audio interview (Great interview, she does a gr
  12. This could explain why people get inflammation even though they eat a customized (healthy) diet. Take fruit for example. One gets inflammation from eating fruit. One figures it's the fruit itself causing the problem and most likely points to the the common enemy, sugar, and avoids it in the future. When it reality it could be whatever was on the fruit (corn) and wasn't removed properly. Thus, the assumption that fruits caused this and that. Same thing could be applied to other kinds of food
  13. If the dark chocolate is pure (no alkali), it's acidic.
  14. Anxiety and paranoia! After my experience I began to wonder about the reason all the people around me who suffer these same symptoms is because they eat "conventionally". If it affects the mind/brain, it affects behavior/personality.
  15. Paying more for a good blender is worth it. Since it is less likely to break down and achieve greater end results, the user is more likely to use it than a cheapo blender. Which as some people here know cheap blenders can be very aggravating! Math time: Let's assume you use this high quality blender roughly 5 days a week for 7 years (warranty and assumed life span). Spend $500, it will cost you $0.27 a day to use it. If you manage to use it everyday it will cost you $0.20 per day. Inflat
