  1. I have a big ugly hypertrophic scar on my forehead. I use my bangs to cover it, but I know its still there and I hate it. My forehead is the only place I have ever scarred.
  2. Congratulations, I'm so happy that you have found a way to treat your scar. I have a hypertrophic scar on my forehead, it is a little smaller then the size of a dime. It is a little over a year old, it is pale white in color, and raised. Where was your scar? How many injections did it take? Thanks for spreading the word!
  3. I used to get those a lot when I was on Retin A and would pick at my skin. I suggest putting neosporin or polysporin on the area to help speed up the healing process. Try to keep the area as moist as possible to prevent it from scabbing up again. I also dont think its a good idea to put BP or any other type of acne treatment on that area because it may cause irritation, so I'd be careful about that. Good luck!
  4. Does anyone know if drinking alcohol has an effect on acne? Not making a habit out of it, but having a drink or 2 on the weekends. any ideas? thank you!
  5. Has anybody tried these? I saw a commercial and apparently they contain 2.5% BP. Does anybody know how these compare to Dan's BP Gel? Has anybody tried these pads yet? what'd you think? Thank you!
  6. I have been using Duac (5%BP 1%clindamycin) prescription gel on my face for about 3 months now. At first it did a great job of clearing me up, but these last few weeks I have started breaking out pretty bad again. I just ordered Dan's BP gel this week and was wondering what yall thought about switching from Duac to Dan's BP gel, since they are both BP based products. I only apply it on my forehead because that is the only place on my face that tends to breakout. Any opinions? Thanks so much
  7. I have a hypertrophic scar on my forehead that I got back in September from picking at a cyst too much. The scar is actually pale white in color(which looks worse because I'm tan!), but it is raised.. I have had 2 laser treatments on it and Ive been using Neosporin scar sheets on it for about 2 months. I haven't noticed a huge difference in the scar. I really hate having it since it is on my forehead! I have thought about getting steroid injections, but I am worried about getting atrophic sc
  8. Logan, I was reading about Nizoral and it sounds like you only use it 2x a week. What do you use the other days, and can I use any type of conditioner with it? Also, does it make your hair stink? LOL.. sorry for all the questions!
  9. I recently grew my hair out so it covers about half of my forehead(I did it to cover some spots). My forehead is very prone to breakouts, so what type of shampoo do you recommend using so I don't break out? I was thinking Dandruff shampoo because it is anti-bacterial.. Any suggestions?? Thank you!
  10. I'm a guy and I work at a tanning salon, and you have nothing to be shy about. You'd be surprised how many guys we have coming into our salon. Most of the guys are older, but we do have a fair amount of teenage guys coming into tan. Don't be embarrassed, nobody really cares! It doesn't even phase me.. By the way, tanning has really helped my acne.
  11. Has anyone had a glycolic acid peel? I'm going in Wednesday to get one done and was just wondering if anybody has had one and what your experience was. Any info would be great. Thanks!
  12. Is it possible to build a tolerance to BP over time? I know with other treatments I've been on such as Retin-A and minocycline, my skin built a tolerance to them overtime so they stopped working. I recently switched to Duac (5% BP, 1% clindamycin), do you think the same thing will happen with this treatment? Thank you!
  13. Apparently you aren't an expert Amanda, but there are people on this board who know more then you and have had first-hand experience with medications. My dermo wants me to stay on it, but they are in it for the money. Another skin esthetician I went to suggested that I go off of the RAM. I decided to post here because there are people on this board who might have advice to offer.
  14. I was put on Retin-A Micro and Minocycline back in September for forehead breakouts. It worked great at first, and my forehead was very clear for many months. However, within the last month and a half or so I've started breaking out again. These last few weeks it has been AWFUL! At this point, I feel like the Retin-A Micro is actually just making my worse rather then better, because whenever I get a little breakout, the RAM makes it redder, sensistive, and worse. I am thinking about droppin
  15. Has anybody used this? It is 10% sodium sulfacetamide and 5% sulfur. My dermo told me to apply this to my forehead(my only problem area), and she said that it really helps with those annoying red bumps. Has anybody used this? Any information would be great! Thank you.
