  1. I've got to say I'm very pleased with the results thus far. All swelling is gone and the improvement is amazing...besides, the improvement in my acne scars, the few wrinkles that I had are completely gone. I feel very fortunate to have "stumbled" upon a treatment that worked so well.
  2. Great descriptions, Sassy! Keep up the detail...I'm sure you'll help loads of people!
  3. I should add that my doctor showed me pictures of other patients enrolled in the clinical trial that had the same ablative and non-ablative treatment done two months prior and the pictures were quite impressive. Since I entered the study at the last minute I got to see some of the results before deciding to do it which was great for helping me make the decision on whether to do it or not. i've been here a while and the majority of people who get erbium say it wasnt very good and their sc

  5. I can only speak for myself, but, having undergone a Palomar Lux2940 Ablative (and non-ablative just prior to the ablative) skin resurfacing (an Erbium laser) just 9 days ago, my skin has returned to it's normal shade of ivory. When I exercise it does get "hot pink", but other than that it looks completely normal.
  6. My doctor mentioned that dark green vegetables and red fruits/veggies aid in collagen production. Since I'm seeing amazing results post-LFR and would like to see the results continue to improve I would love to pick your brain on what you know helps in collagen production. Thanks!
  7. Ziko, What are you using on your skin at this point?
  8. Hmmm...well, I had full facial Erbium (Palomar StarLux) both ablative and non-ablative done a week ago (I'm on Day 7...woohoo) as part of study. My skin is definitely much, much, much better. My recovery had a few challenges, but I've healed well and I'm almost back to my normal skin color already! To go from raw, bleeding skin to almost normal in a week is amazing to me! I'm having pictures taken of the progress all the way from procedure day to day 60. My dr says you can see improvement genera
  9. I don't think it's an either or situation...meaning you can live your life fully, embrace yourself for who you are, but, also seek to improve myself! Who can fault a person from wanting to improve upon yourself? Don't we all want to live our lives even fuller than full? To reach for the impossible? Heck, I'm just at the beginning of my journey towards "almost perfect" skin...but, it hasn't hampered my life...instead it has forced me to be more vulnerable and open about a subject that for me has
  10. Yes, sir! I'm a by the clock, on schedule, pill taken machine these days! I did have to laugh when I went back in to see my doc. She said, " It's so great to have someone with bac infection to include in the study. We haven't had anyone else with this complication." Then she kinda caught herself and looked a little sheepish. I just laughed and said that I was just showing my Type A personality, having to really be the A+ patient. Lol!
  11. Hip hooray, the infection is under control and I'm healing beautifully! I progressed to having a fever by yesterday (Day 2) afternoon but after the 2nd dose of the new antibiotics I was one my way back up to the good side. The bacteria was cultured out to be MRSA so I'm glad that I called my doc right away...it might have gotten awfully ugly, awfully fast...yikes! Since I'm part of the study I have to go in every day this week to have pictures taken to show the healing progression. My swe
  12. Well the saga continues... I woke up this morning to much less red skin and the swelling had gone down remarkably! I still looked a bit like Humpty Dumpty...but a cute Humpty Dumpty! I was so pleasantly surprised and hummed my way through my morning routine. I could see that the results were going to be really good! When I washed my face I noticed one small white bump. I assumed it was millia and wasn't concerned. Well, a few minutes later, I was completely shocked to see that the white "bump
  13. Interesting question, Ann-Marie! I was just talking with my doctor who just finished doing a study using the Palomar StarLux Laser (ablative). Part of the protocol that the enrolled patients had to follow was to use silicon sheets on one half of their face and either a special cream (I can't remember what it was, sorry!) or aquaphor depending on what was dictated by the study. Anyways, to make a really long story short she said she saw MUCH better results from the aquaphor than from the silicon
  14. Thanks Dudley! The vinegar rinse helped immensely. I am so excited to see that my skin does look MUCH better without the thick aquaphor on it! The swelling is still there but at least I'm not bloody anymore. Once I'm able to shower and get the stuff out of my long hair I'm sure I will feel even better! I see my doc first thing Monday morning and I'm **hoping** that I will get to switch from aquaphor to something much less thick and sticky then.
