  1. Maximum doses can vary depending on your doctor. I weigh a bit over 50kg and am currently on 60mg a day after being on 40mg for the first month-so over the 1mg/kg dosage. However, this is my second course so we already knew what to expect as far as my tolerance to accutane. The first time, I started on 20mg for a while and then slowly moved up. I think it's good to start low to first see how your body reacts to it. Best of luck!!!
  2. I also forgot to mention that depression and suicide ideation are very different and do not always coincide. It is best you discuss this with a doctor.
  3. It is very possible that your depression is due to your acne, although it may only be amplifying an underlying depression. It is best to discuss your options with your dermatologist, who should refer you to a psychologist who can help you first and foremost work through the issues, while potentially simultaneously taking accutane. Best of luck!
  4. I went on my first course of accutane about a year and a half ago due to moderate acne, with consistent painful cysts and very oily skin. I continued to break out until the end and while my oil decreased, I did not had peeling/very dry skin. After the first course my oil came back (although not as much as before) and although I do not have as many cysts, I continued to break out. I am now a month into my second course and I am very dry! This is more what I was expecting! I am already much clea
  5. I am currently on my second course of accutane and live in a pretty dry climate. I started using vaseline at night and constantly applying Clinique Repairwear Intensive Lip Treatment during the day, and despite my peeling skin, my lips are not too dry. I find that this product is truly the only thing that seems to work. It is a bit pricey, but sooo worth it! Hope that helps!
