Hi Michelle,I'm on day 5 and I'm starting to notice that my skin is drying out. My chin is starting to flake but my T Zone is starting to get a little more oilier than normal. I usually have dry skin so this oil is something new for me. My lips are really dry and borderline chapped. Other than that, I haven't experienced any other side effects. As far as the itchy scalp...I highly recommend the following product. I use this in my hair and it works wonders. I'm half black and half Irish, so my ha

Hi Shana! How are you feeling? Do you still feel like you have the flu? Are you still experiencing the headaches? Gosh, I hope this is only an initial side effect once your body gets used to the medication. I would hate for you to have to deal with this the entire time My skin and lips are getting very dry, that's about all I'm experiencing for now... but I'm only on day 5. Give us an update, hope you're well -Loni -
Hi Coxy! Just checking in to see if everything was ok with your blood tests and if you've started yet...I'm on day 5 and I'm just starting to experience dry skin and flakiness. Other than that, no other side effects or IB yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Give us all an update! -Loni

Well, there wasn't much to report on days 3 & 4. However, last night I noticed that my skin was becoming very dry and a tad bit flakey. Today my lips are becoming very dry and borderline chapped. I'm also seeing that I'm thirsty more often. My skin feels smoother but like I said, the dryness is starting. Not feeling any different as far as aches or anything so that's good (I'm keeping my fingers crossed!) Now I'm just wondering when the IB will take effect. Other than that, I'm feeling g

Well, today is day 2 and I don't feel any different. I'll have to remember to take pictures of myself in the morning before I put my makeup on. My dark scars are ugly, I totally plan on getting laser resurfacing when this journey is complete. If anyone knows any remedies I can do to help my scars during accutane I would appreciate the advice. Good luck to everyone, thanks for reading -Loni

Hi Shana,Ugh, I'm sorry you don't feel good today Man, its amazing how quickly the side effects come into play. I hope the benadryl works for you, but I bet its your skin adjusting like you said. I haven't even gone out and bought all of the supplies I need. This morning I used my BP face wash (I know I need to stop that). I was using Cetaphil face wash and moisturizer for a long while and I really liked them. I was reading another member's blog and she posted a link to some cleanser and moistu

Hi! I started accutane today. I read your posts and just wanted to say good luck to you...you're not alone -
Hello everyone! I have been browsing this site for a couple of months now as I was anticipating my accutane start date. Well, today is the day! I'm very nervous and anxious at the same time. I am classified as mild acne but I have dark nasty scars and some of them have left pits. When the breakouts come, they come with a vengeance. I was on Spironolactone for a few months, which helped but eventually it stopped working. So my derm agreed that accutane would be my final step. I was on every t

Week 1 and about me
Loni77 commented on Accutane Experience's blog entry in Accutane Experience's Blog
Hi Shana,I just started accutane today. I'm so nervous about the IB and the headaches/body aches. I have tried everything from OTC creams to Spironolactone for a few months. The spiro helped initially but then I started breaking out again I never had acne as a teen but something happened 3 years ago when I turned 30 and all hell broke loose. I have some pretty dark scarring on my face and I also have a Port Wine Stain birthmark that I have been having laser treatments on to remove. My face isn'
