  1. I could have wrote your entire post, except I went through exactly what you did at age 21. Every diet change that you made, including going vegan for a year, raw vegan for around 6 monthes, eating completely organic, juicing daily and drinking green smoothies 1-2x a day...It's kind of crazy to hear someone with such a mirror story to mine. I haven't been on here in a long time, and this was one of the first posts that I opened up, very weird. I will pm you when I'm on my laptop as I'm just surfi
  2. I used to buy into the Paleo Diet, and don't anymore, in fact I find it very, very scary.
  3. Those who are interested in the paleo diet or are currently on the paleo diet should definately check out the China Study, and/or watch the Forks over Knives documentary. My husband and I were following the paleo diet for over a year before we were introduced to dr. caldwell esselstyn & dr. t colin campbell's work. It sparked our interest, and after more in depth research we are very much opposed to the paleo diet. I believe everyone should have as much information as possible to make the be
  4. I very, very, very much agree. I think it is also important to find out food intolerances/allergies (many are "silent"), and the most important thing in my honest opinion is to MINIMIZE SUGAR, and get the sugar that you ARE eating from fruit. I strongly suggest completely cutting out sugar for at least a good month. I would bet everything I own that your acne would DRAMATICALLY improve, no matter what the current condition. These two things were absolutely crucial to me. (Getting enough sleep
  5. Have you read the China Study? If you haven't, you would love it.
  6. I feel healthier and my skin is nicer when I get regular sun. SAFELY and RESPONSIBLY is key. EXERCISE DAILY (Start off with whatever you can... but exercise is essential! I do about 30 mins of cardio every day... Well, I AIM to! This week has been good. I'm proud of myself this week!) Get full, deep sleeps in pure darkness. Sleep is so so so important. Green smoothies 2-3 x daily. I mix is up with kale, swiss chard, collard greens, broccoli, cauliflower, all kinds of sprouts, spinach, and ad
  7. Watermelon is high glycemic and is one of the fruits to avoid on a candida diet. Anything that has a high glycemic index is not allowed on this diet. Keep in mind, the candida diet is not something you follow forever, it is a strict diet that does not allow sugar in any form other than vegetables and 1-2 servings of berries/day (fruits should be avoided entirely for the first month according to many sources). There are books that say 90 days on this diet is extremely beneficial, but it varies am
  8. I was just about to go to bed but I have to post two things: I'm also on a candida diet I have EVERY SINGLE ONE of Kelly Howell's CDs. Like, every one. You should get the Healing Meditation one... That is so random that you mentioned her... ! I'm off to listen to some Sound Sleep theta right now. Have a great night!!!
  9. Ditto - my husband and I vaporize.
  10. Well hello there stranger! I only read a a couple of pages of your last posts, but I'll definately read back further to where I last left off when I have a bit more time. I noticed that at same time you added eggs back into your diet, so did I... Weird! Well, I'm a bit lost and let down at the moment, which is why I came back to do some more reading on what everyone has been up to. My naturopath feels that I have adrenal fatigue, and I have been going through a very stressful time in my lif
  11. Hi there, 1) I know what you mean about conflicting information on websites regarding what foods can and can't be eaten. I ended up ordering books like "The Candida Diet" and other recommended books on Amazon (after reading reviews). Sorry I can't be of more help in this area! I know that many people like the 'Healing Naturally by Bee' website. 2) In my opinion, I think it is okay. To be safe though, I would eat some sort of protein with your rice to lessen the glycemic load. I know others wo
  12. I just added ACV to my diet this past week. I'll let you know if I notice any positive improvements. Best of luck in your journey to clear skin!
