  1. SocialAnxiety- Does applying oil and doing the massage prior to applying the BP make it less effective? Or does your skin still absorb the BP? I may start to apply oil prior to the BP to lessen the effects of the dryness... ???
  2. I use two pumps of Dan's moisturizer and I am still flakey around a few areas...
  3. I pretty much thought the clarisonic would be off limits for the regimen, but I thought I would ask. I have an important work event with clients in two days and I just don't want to be flakey and dry...
  4. I know one of the most important parts of the regimen is to avoid irritation on the skin which is why Dan says not to use a washcloth. However I was wondering if it would be okay to use my Clarisonic brush? Before starting the regimen, I used my Clarisonic brush twice a day. Since I am experiencing some flakiness, do you think it would be okay to use the Clarisonic brush once a day or once every other day to take care of this problem? Or would this set me back? Comments and advice are grea
  5. Emu oil is great. Hope it works well for you! I have moved about seven off-topic posts to the Random Thought thread in the Lounge. Wynne - You use emu oil as well, right? How do you add it into your regimen? Do you use a few drops of the emu oil in the mouisturizer instead of jojoba oil? I don't use the acne.org regimen. I use the emu oil every so often. In winter, much more often as my skin gets drier and annoyed. Just a few drops for the whole face, all by itself. Tha

  7. Do you use olive oil because you have had issues with jojoba oil? Also this may be a stupid question, but do you use olive oil that you use for cooking or is there a different type of olive oil to use? Thanks in adavance for all your help! I use Extra Virgin Olive Oil . And only because I already have it in my house, hehe. Plus, I can't buy any Joboja oil anywhere near me, and the shipping is quite expensive. And yes, I also use it for cooking (;. Oh, and Emu Oil is a great choice! I didn'
  8. Is it the pure stuff? with a whitish tint to it? I tried some clear, glue-smelling emu oil from amazon once, and at first i loved it, but after awhile i noticed it made my blackheads WAAAAYY worse and was clogging up all my pores. But maybe thats just my skin, and reguarding the olive oil question, i use extra virgin because its better than just plain old olive oil. and we always have it around, so its cheaper than buying jojoba separately. It is pure, refined emu oil. I know people
  9. Well after reading many of the reviews about oils to use other than jojoba oil, I decided to go with emu oil. I picked up a 4 ounce bottle of emu oil this afternoon and I used it for the first time tonight. First, I used 6 drops as a makeup remover before doing the regimen. I followed up with DK cleanser, DK BP, and finally with DK moisturizer with about 4 drops of emu oil added in. So far I really like the texture and consistency. It is thick, but absorbs well and has quenched my dry skin.
  10. Thanks AshleyNicole for the great information and advice! Do you have a personal favorite oil you like to use? I am thinking just to be on the same side I may try a different kind of oil to remove my makeup since jojoba oil doesn't agree with my skin... I really appreciate all the great information and links!

  12. Hey everyone. I recently started the regimen was adding 5-6 drops of jojoba oil to Dan's moisturizer for flakiness. However I quickly realized my skin was breaking out from the jojoba oil. As soon as I stopped using it in my moisturizer, the zits and irritation I had went away. My questions is this: Is there a makeup remover I can use on the regimen other than jojoba oil? I was using jojoba oil to remove my makeup prior to washing my face. Do you think it will be okay to use jojoba oil to
  13. Thank you for your help. I never get breakouts anywhere but on my cheeks, so I have only been applying the BP on my problem areas. I have noticed this has decreased the dryness I was experiencing in other areas. Thanks again Wynne!
  14. I just started the regimen by buying Dan's products and following all steps exactly as they are outlined. I really only suffer from breakouts on my cheeks and not anywhere else. Should I apply BP all over my face or just the problem areas on my cheeks? Thanks in advance for your help!
  15. Strssedout~ Thank you for your reply and sharing your experience with Klaron. I think you are right in the fact I just need to be patient and give the Klaron more time to work. Actually in the past few days, I have already seen much improvement in my skin! I think the inital breakout I attributed to the Klaron was actually just a result of stopping the Duac and changing my regimen. I am loving the Klaron now because it is so gentle. I have not experienced any dryness, redness, or irr
  16. I was using Duac, but also experienced extreme irritation and a bad reaction as well. My dermatologist switched me to Klaron (Sodium Sulfacetmide) inside. I have only been on it for about 10 days now, and so far I cannot tell whether it is working or not. I have actally experienced a few pimples since switching, but I am not sure if it is the change in my regimen or the Klaron... I am also interested to hear how people like the Klaron/Sodium Sulfacetmide....!?!
  17. I know I always get anxious about breaking out when I begin a new regimen too! But it sounds like you are on your way to finding your perfect regimen! Can anyone else share their review or experience of Klaron?
  18. 27inLA - Thanks for your response. I am glaf to hear Clenia is working for you as well. The reaction I experienced from the Duac included extreme skin irritation and redness, skin blotchiness, and a slight rash. My dermatologist told me to test it on the inside of my wrist to see if was cauing my reaction, and I experienced the same symptoms. I have a history of sensitivity to BP because I expereiced extreme irritation when I used a BP face fash as well. Hopefully you are correct about my s
  19. My routine consists of washing my face with Clenia in the morning and washing with Plexion at night. I was using Duac once daily in the evening, but unfortunately my skin is sensitive to BP so I had to stop using it. Instead of Duac, my dermatologist prescribed Klaron for me. He told me to apply it once in the morning and then once on the evening. I have only been using Klaron for about a week, but I have actually been getting a few more pimples since I started using Klaron. My question is,
