Oh Man, I am having a terrible time. Laser nurse replaced tip when she got to my left cheek. That side of my face is red but smooth everywhere. The right side of my face (where she used the old tip) is very streaky and I have quite a few pimply things. What is the deal?

I had my 4th on Thursday and I am still so red and horid looking. I'm so sick of this! I look like shit, I can't go anywhere, and my face hurts! My skin is so cracked around my mouth that if I open my mouth wide enough to eat a sandwich it starts to bleed. I am so unbelievably discouraged. I don't think I could do another one of these if I had to.

I'm not really sure how to classify my scarring. Yucky. I had mild to moderate scars, mostly ice pick. My skin is never going to be perfect either but my husband was talking with one of my friends the other day (not many people know I'm getting this done but she does) and she asked him why I was doing it. She thought I had great skin. lol But then on my first appointment with the derm the laser nurse said some of my scars were pretty deep so I needed to be realistic about my results. So wh
  4. Two weeks before my first fraxel my derm put me on taz. He told me to stop using it a couple days before the first treament and then resume when the flaking from the fraxel had stopped. Of course by the time my first treament rolled around I was purging like crazy, no cysts but quite a few active pimples. They went ahead with the treatment and my skin healed nicely. I now use the tazorac until a few days before a fraxel and then wait two weeks to start again. Any pimples on my face get evap

ChrissyC, I can relate to almost everything you just said in your recent post. I too just had my fourth (and final?) treatment. The dr came in to look at my scars before the numbing cream was applied. He compared my face to the before pics (which I refuse to look at until I am all done) and was pleased. He isn't an easy to please guy so when he said it looked "quite good" I was happy. The laser nurse said my results have been as nice as any she has seen. She has been doing it for awhile,

Just a quick update. I am a little over three weeks post third fraxel. I am starting to see good results now. I've even been getting compliments on the overall condition of my skin. My husband took a close up pic of me hugging my mom at graduation. It was a big picture of my cheek. I zoomed in looking for scars. They were insignificant. I don't worry about pictures anymore, or ponytails, or swimming, or being seen with a no-makeup morning face. It feels great. I was planning on getting

Billyboy, my last fraxel was almost a month ago. My skin is still pink. Is anyone still pink this long after? Is something wrong? Do you think I should discontinue treatments?

Is anyone pink for post fraxel?! I am. And my skin is really sensitive all the sudden. If I rub my face I'm bright pink. What is the deal? I can't have this.

I think I'm two and a half weeks post #2. My skin is still a little discolored. It is slight but when I lift my chin I can see a line of demarcation, another around my lips. Will this go away?

Coolbreeze, the gender issue you raised is very interesting. I've never even considered that before but I bet men and women do respond differently to treatments. Hmmm. With that in mind I might just ignore any negative male posts.

I just don't understand how you guys are presentable so quickly! I am about two weeks (give or take) post 2nd fraxel. I still have some redness, not a lot (my husband doesn't notice). Hope it isn't permanent. I flake so badly that there is no way I can leave the house for at least 4 days and even then I feel uncomfortable! I had noticable swelling for at least a week. My treatments have not been that agressive either. And I have never had particularly sensitive or responsive skin. After
  12. I think I do need to learn to come to my own defense. My skin isn't that bad. It isn't perfect and I'm working on it but at this point I'm working on the minutia. You have to look pretty hard to see any clogged pores! I wish I would have said something to him. I found out later he was trained in the army and was originally an army doc (actually just a PA) I think he needs to know that dealing with women's skin is a lot different that working with a bunch of military men! I'm thinking of s
  13. Have you ever had a derm be rude to you? I thought my skin was looking pretty good, better than its looked in quite awhile, and I went for a follow up with my derm's assistant. He was a complete jerk! He wanted to make sure I knew I have clogged pores "Pimples waiting to happen" scars and enlarged pores. He even told me I have rosacea. I was wearing some blush and have some residual redness from my most recent fraxel and have NEVER been told I have rosacea. I don't have rosacea. He made m

So far I'm still happy with the results from my first fraxel. I looked terrible for almost a week which in itself was healing for me. I was forced to go out in public with my face looking bad, my hair in a ponytail (because I couldn't stand my long hair brushing my cheeks) and face the world. No one ran away shrieking, no one looked at me funny, in fact no one seemed to care at all. Facing my fear of facing the world with bad skin has boosted my confidence a ton. As far as results: My skin s

yes, you can have fraxel done while on oral antibiotics. It has been almost a week now and my skin is looking pretty good - only a few patches of flakey skin left and everything appears pretty smooth. I think I'm going to be happy once its all over.
