  1. Day one. I picked the crap out of my face, stupid hormonal acne and stress gave me my first cyst-like acne along my jawline and I just couldn't leave it alone. Time for a change. Time for healing.
  2. Day 17 of no picking! Words cannot describe how happy I am. I did pick at one spot, but I'm covering it with a band aid, leaving it alone, and forgiving myself. My skin has improved so much! It is not creamy clear yet (I still look at girls who get to show off their lovely shoulders and backs in tank tops, with envy), I have some hyper-pigmentation that I'm working on expediting the fading process with a salicylic acid peel and scrubs. But it is not over... I still have 13 more days (and hop
  3. How is everyone doing? I had some setbacks, but as Churchill once said, "Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts." Today has been a pick-free day. I'm counting tomorrow as Day 2!
  4. Hello beautiful people. I'm ready to do this. I used to pick my face, and realized it was making me look terrible. So I stopped... and my bad habit migrated to my upper back. Now it's expanded to picking my entire back, arms, and chest. My skin looks terrible, scabby, with at least two dozen open wounds and sores from picking. Somehow, in my twisted mind, picking the scab off a healing spot will make it better, smoother, even thought RATIONALLY it will bleed and and scab again, becoming a hyper
  5. I have been using DK's BP (with Cetaphil Cleanser and Lotion + DK Jojoba Oil) for six months now. I still experience red, dry and flaky skin. However, for a month now, I've been using a homemade oatmeal cleanser instead (twice daily instead of my Cetaphil Cleanser), and it is really helping with the dry skin! I feel like this will help especially for the people who feel like their skin is tight and dry right after cleansing. Those with makeup might try a toner afterwards to make sure to remove a
  6. Hello beautiful people! I'm on a the DK regimen (have been for a year or so) and was using Cetaphil Cleanser, but my skin was so red, dry, and flaky. I watched this video from bubzbeauty about how she makes her own oatmeal facial cleanser and decided to try it. So glad I did! My face looks sooo much better! I'm not sure how well it will take off makeup, but if I am wearing some I usually take a washcloth soaked in hot water and lay it on my face after doing my oatmeal cleanse and let it steam my
  7. Day 1. Again. I'm going to the beach in two weeks, though, so this is awesome motivation. Congrats! You are an inspiration to all of us. Good job!
  8. Interesting thought. However, a thin layer of makeup or powder can actually act as a protective barrier between your skin and air polluted by car exhaust, pesticides, and power lines.
  9. Starting at ground zero, again. I realize I wasn't even really expecting success to begin with, I think that threw me off. My skin has been spotty and inflamed for so long I didn't believe it would ever clear. But after a few weeks of leaving it alone it DOES look normal. It's just been so long since I've seen it that way... Today at midnight, begins Day 1. For all those who are on day 1, 2, 3, 4, etc... BRAVO! Here is a picture of Chuck Norris to encourage you.

  13. Yup, just arm, chest, and shoulders. Winter is gone, and summer is here, so there's no more hiding under long sleeves. I want to be able to wear cute summer dresses without having skin marked scars and scabs! That's my goal. I've never used gloves, I want to try willpower first, instead of using something exterior. Good luck!
  14. You are amazing. I keep rereading your post and it gives me such hope and inspiration. Thank you!
