  1. Hey everyone, I am currently on Isotrex which is the topical form of accutane. It is a retinoid. I am going away to italy in the summer but I was wondering what I should do to prepare. I understand that you are not meant to be in the sun while using retinoids so what is the correct procedure to do? If anyone could help that would be great, thanks.
  2. That's great! Can't wait to try my sulphate free shampoo when it arrives.
  3. Thanks for replying! Could I ask what you find so good about it? Thanks
  4. As the title says, has anyone tried sulphate free shampoo? I have just ordered some beer shampoo called Broo which has no sulphates. Hopefully, it will be better for my skin since it is very sensitive.
  5. Well I tried it and it broke me out. Time to stop for me.
  6. Has anyone had any kind of success taking a multivitamin and reducing oil on their face? To me is sounds like it wouldn't do anything but I've tried so many other things that I might as well give this a go. I'm picking up Centrum today and will take one every day. The only thing that has me worried is that it contains B vitamins and I've read some people break out from them.
  7. Thank you for replying, I do have a healthy diet and avoid sugar. I only drink water and try to eat healthily. I'm thinking about whether another stronger retinoid would be better to use instead of Isotrex but I don't know much about them.
  8. Thanks for the info. I'm 26 now and unfortunately still have this problem. It doesn't matter if I'm stressed or not. The oil just keeps on coming. I've gone through stages or lots of exercise to no exercise and still it didn't change anything. I appreciate you posting though, it's nice to get a reply!
  9. Thank you very much for replying. I really appreciate it I have actually tried Apple Cider Vinegar before (both applying it diluted to my face and drinking it) and unfortunately it didn't do anything for me. I also tried the oil cleansing method which again didn't work for me or change my skin's oiliness. I went about a year putting nothing on my skin and that didn't change anything either. I also used cetaphil cleanser and moisturiser along with exfoliators which didn't cure me of the sym
  10. Hi everyone, This is what my face currently looks like: http://i.imgur.com/z9mYDmV.jpg My problems are: Excessively oily skin Very large pores Blackheads I had been on Differin for 3 months which did nothing and then I moved on to Isotrex (another retinoid which is the topical form of accutane). I have been on Isotrex nearly 4 months now and it has made my skin a fraction smoother and helps to stop pimples before they form. Other than that I am still left with the symptoms above.
  11. I am using Isotrex gel (isotretinoin) with a prescription from my derm. I don't believe my skin problems warrant the use of the pill form of accutane so that's why I'm on the gel. I also used Differin (adapalene) for 3 months but it didn't work at all.
  12. I've been on Isotrex (isotretinoin gel) which is a topical form of accutane for 2 months and it is really good at drying out spots but the problems I mainly have are: blotchy skin large pores blackheads oily skin It hasn't really done anything for these things. I have been on it for two months applying it every night. Has anyone else tried this and if so did you get good results? Thanks
