  1. Accutane should clear you up in no time! You have a gorgeous face either way!
  2. I definitely turned into a lizard woman on Accutane. My arms were flaking and my hands looked like I had some skin eating disease. It was horrible! I HIGHLY recommend CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion. You can find it at most drug stores now but the stuff is incredible. I put it on three times in one night and my arms were completely normal by morning.
  3. It's definitely better to just leave the scabs rather than pick them off. They're HORRIBLE to cover though but worth it in the end. I typically do my normal foundation routine but add a little extra concealer on the scabs and then dust it with powder to set it. Sometimes a green concealer also helps if the scab has a reddish tone. Fortunately they'll be gone before you know it.
  4. Yeah it seems like your acne is definitely moderate then. Maybe the topical isn't reacting well with your skin. I was on a tretinoin cream and it definitely made me break out and made my skin oily. I would say just talk to your derm about trying new products. Maybe he/she could also give you something to counteract the redness like azelaic acid. I've never tried laser treatments but it might be worth a shot too.
  5. I'm sure Accutane will work for you! I'll keep checking in!
  6. It's worth a shot! I would try it on part of your face for a while to make sure that you don't break out. I use Dermalogica's Microfoliant a few times a week and I love it. It's based from rice powder and it definitely exfoliates and makes my face softer. It's a bit pricey for a bottle but I've had it for well over a year and a half without it running out!
  7. So you tried Accutane and it didn't work? It looks like you have moderate acne, to me, but it definitely looks like you have some hard cysts up on your cheek too. Is this what your acne normally looks like? How long have you been going through this?
  8. I hope this works out for you! I was on Yaz and it just made my skin worse. As soon as I stopped taking it I broke out SO BAD. I immediately had to switch to another BCP and then Accutane. Let us know what happens!
  9. If you've been on that same treatment for years I would definitely say try something else. I also wouldn't recommend things like Proactiv at all because it most likely won't be strong enough. (I think Proactiv made me worse, to be honest.) There's always Accutane too, if everything you try fails. It's really frustrating but everyone has different skin so it's a big game of trial and error with products until you find what works for you. Best of luck!
  10. I started losing some hair during my last month of Accutane. I've been off of the drug for a month and I can feel a bunch of small hairs growing back in. (I've even noticed one or two strands that are curly!) I just really pamper my hair by trying to not use any heat products (or at least using a heat protection product when I do). I also use moisturizing masks and hot oil treatments. I'm already noticing my hair getting back to normal so I'm sure yours will too, over time.
  11. I hope your hair is alright. Mine started to thin out when I was on my last month or two. I would definitely go and buy something like a moisturizing hair mask or a hot oil treatment to try to strengthen the hair you have now and keep it from breaking. I also really started to stop using any heat on my hair. I would just let it air dry or braid it for some texture. Now that I'm a month off of Accutane though my hair is back to normal! Hope everything goes well for you!
  12. Yeah, definitely keep taking Accutane. I was still breaking out at month 3. By the time I hit month 4 and 5 I had great improvement. If you just forget about the drug I swear it's like your face changes overnight. I look back at my pictures before Accutane now and I hardly remember what it was like to break out so much. Just keep it up! Good luck!
  13. Roughly a Month Off of Accutane So it's been a lovely month without any Accutane to deal with! I had to get my last blood work drawn (mind you, I was on vacation and I had to hunt down a place that would send it to my derm) and now I'm officially free! Over the past 4 or 5 weeks I've had MAYBE 3 zits and they disappeared within a day. My skin is now crystal clear and so easy to care for! I still have redness and some scars that I want to fix later on but for now I'm happy! I love being able to
  14. iPledge is a headache. I used the phone once and then I got so tired of sitting around for 20 minutes pressing buttons that I just took the questions online. I have no idea how to actually speak to a PERSON from them though. It's really frustrating. I hope you can find out!
  15. I've been off of Accutane for about a month now and I already can't wait to get some peels or something to help get rid of the scars. Mine aren't too bad but it's enough where it creates a rough texture when I'm in bad lighting. Ugh. For a long time I've been using Derma E's Scar Gel. It's really simple, made with only a few ingredients (none of which should make you break out). I put it on at night and it seems to help. It's not a MIRACLE but it definitely helps and lightens any redness while I
