  1. I think genetics play a huge part. My Mum had terrible acne, and developed Dermatillomania, and I have had the exact same issues. In fact out genetic link goes ever further... we both have alopecia and other health issues. Only thing is I'm 20 years younger than her and it's ALREADY happening to me. I love my Mum but don't want to end up like her!
  2. I had Dalacin T and found it very ineffective... however I know people who found it worked really well. I think it's best used on it's own without a moisturiser... just make sure you rinse your face properly in the mornings to remove the residue
  3. Obsessive skin picking has a borderline, and unfortunately I have crossed it and entered into the realms of OCD. Having Dermatillomania makes beating acne so much harder... I pick at anything. If something doesn't look, or feel right, no matter where it is on my body then I will pick. I will pick and squeeze and scratch until I've completely ruined my face, chest, back or where ever else. I'm considering the Accutane route as my last ditch attempt, but am worried as I've heard it can make hair loss occur, or make it worse... as I already have Alopecia, I'm surprised my Derm recommended it!   5. Hi everyone, I'm new here but have been browsing the forum for a while. I'll try to keep this short, but I need help. Basically I have Mild Acne which started when I was about 13. I had a few antibiotic treatments, like Erythromicin etc... and eventually my GP put me on Dianette which controlled it to a better degree.
