  1. Hello just stopping by. I have had a surge of PM's so I thought I would see what's up? Let me just say a few things. For most people it will take serveral types of modalities to have scars repaired. As we know for the most part we will never have the "normal" skin of those who have not suffered from acne and other skin ailments. Can we improve it? Most likely. It is not easy nor is it fast. The skin has SUPERIOR MEMORY! It is designed to repair itself faster than any other organ. Once it
  2. http://carcin.oxfordjournals.org/cgi/conte...stract/21/4/811 Just a sample of data out there. I guess it depends on where you look. I am not saying that BP is not effective or causes skin tumors for people with acne. But why not be careful anyway? A simple solution to stop worry for some, that's all.
  3. If I may suggest you read my recent posts. It explains much of your problem. Shyana
  4. One way to get around the problems of free radical damage form BP is to mix silymarin extract with it. The research is there about this, prevents tumors too.
  5. Hey everyone I just was looking through some of my research and came by this. I forgot I had it! This is a wonderful patent that comprises much of the reasearch I have done from various sources. These guys have a slighly different twist, but they are saying the same thing as me. I think they have been putting all the data together and came up with an easy protocol for antiscarring. This would be fine for wound repair too. But the use of BP may not be a good idea in wound repair, just for acne
  6. I like saline as well. I use a combo of saline and topical needling for some scars. There are different types of Beta Glucan. You want at least 500mg Beta Glucan 1/3 1/6. I used several brands some of the most expensive (micro sized need less mg's) online but I forgot the names. I just buy any now as long as it is 1/3 1/6. Solgars, Jarrows, Now, etc. I think that the new mushroom formulas also will stimulate the correct immune response. However I have not used these. For topical use www.skina
  7. Asher2 Please read all my posts here. This explains it. The reason you scar is included in my protocol. Impaired immune response, prolong neutrophils at lesion site increases MMP's, the enzymes that breakdown collagen, delayed macrophage reponse, skin lipid profile alteration all lead to the destruction of the base membrane, indentation/scarring occurs. People who have acne scarring are not normal wound healers. There are plenty of people who get acne and do not scar. However the more sever
  8. I am a medical professional retired now. Yes I have done it all and have trained MD's, Nurses etc. in numerous treatment modalities, needling is one. I do my own treatments unless I need more anesthesia for deeper methods. But my scars are not so much a problem anymore so this would be more for wrinkles lol. The medical community still has not caught on to needling very much. It is not accepted as a proven method and most doctors won't even know what you are talking about. The doctors I traine

  10. I make most of my own products now. But I have used these below which work well. Here is a sample of a treatment protocol. This can be individualized as I said according to your needs, types of scarring, types of needling, saline injection, skin sensitivity etc. At any time you become more inflammed then something is wrong. Stop all products and just us HA and aquaphor until improvement. PRODUCTS (Walgreens, online sources etc) CERA VE CLEANSER - These have the right combo of lipid
  11. Thanks for the info, Shyana; I've always found your posts full of information. Unfortunately, I'm really a little lost. Am I right to say that generally after needling one should use CPs only for about a week, EGF ASAP and retinoids as soon as the superficial wounds have healed? Also, what do you think of continued use of EGFs? Thanks Yes to the above question but....... I have been getting PM's so for all who may be confused. How you wound heal will determine how you use CP's a
  12. One of the suspected reasons for acne scarring in the first place is prolong neutophil response at the site of the lesion. Which works along with delayed immune responses from other needed biochemical reactions for normal healing. If in fact you have scarring from lesions then is it not too far off to speculate that when wounding the skin(needling) you indeed may not respond well to healing due to your own inherent defects, whether they be from genetics, or other biochemical mishaps. All you ha
  13. I think you are looking good. Perhaps some tips I can give to you and others for further healing pre and post treatments to help the skin to remodel well. Retin A which you are using Growth Factors such as TNS or Neocutis very expensive, Barrier protection which can be helped by proper lipid balance in the epidermis. Without a balanced skin barrier healing will be altered. A cheap and effective non greasy barrier protection is CeraVe lotion. It has all the components needed for skin
  14. What you have here is a full thickness scar and my guess is this was from an injury when you were younger and then became worse with the TCA? If so this is very different than acne scars. Being that it was an indent shows me that the scar was contracted but had remodeled over the years to be less visible. It was at this point that needling could have been helpful. Now with further damage from the TCA I doubt that anything will help other than excision and a better placement of the scar, ie bre
  15. Found this in my research. I know nothing about acupuncture for scars but thought I would pass this on. http://www.icmart.org/romania/abstracts04/22.html
