  1. want2beme, I'm taking 500mg of the no flush niacin (inositol hexanicotinate) every evening after dinner and a "Hair, Skin & Nails" vit. supp. after breakfast. I drink lots of water a day and that's been about it. I'll admit I haven't been watching my diet as much as I'd like...but I'm still seeing a good amount of changes. I mean, I haven't had one new cyst since the day I started taking them, and that is such a big deal to me. I can finally focus on repairing my red scars! It feels w
  2. I dont think you're having an allergic reaction....I've been a religious Mario Badescu user (until recently) for the last year or so. the Drying cream tends to bring out the pimple to the surface instead of drying it out. It usually feels itchy the first day or two. This happened to me numerous times before I decided to stop using it. All their other products are so great, but this one leaves me wishing that it would actually dry it up before it has a chance to emerge, yet...it's always seemed t
  3. So, here's a 14 day update....and I might just be ready to post pictures! I'd been pretty discouraged because I have some pretty deep red scars that I was hoping would magically disappear, but after looking at my before and after pictures, I think my acne and scars have made significant improvement considering it's only been 14 days since I started taking the Niacin. I did get three tiny little pimples a few days ago since it was right before my 'visit'. They were so small they were almost cut
  4. Gabrik, Thanks for the suggestion! I really don't mind it being feminine since I'm a girl after all..lol I'm always so nervous about trying new products but I know that I need to use sunscreen and need to start sooner than later! Right now I use Clinique's Moisture Surge moisturizer and I love it because it's a gel and it absorbs right away and is completely oil free. My skin always feels so soft afterward. I will keep the Aveeno in mind though! Thanks! JC
  5. Try using Likas Papaya Whitening soap. It seems to be working for a few people. It's all natural and has won some awards for its effectiveness. I started using it a few days ago and even though it hasn't yet taken away my red marks, I have noticed my skin looks brighter and milkier. Give it a shot..it's very cheap so you wouldnt be out a bunch of money. They sell it at most Asian/Philippine stores. JC
  6. So I have very sensitive skin. If I rest my chin on my hand for 5 minutes, my chin gets bright red...When I go pluck/wax my eyebrows my skin swells up and it looks as if I got punched in both eyes! Add to that the fact that my skin will break out at the thought of a new product, it makes it very difficult to find good stuff! I started a regimen recently that seems to be working and I'm very happy with it so far. I have not had a new zit in almost a week (which is a miracle in itself) and my exi
  7. I have the same problem! Mine are all over my face, especially my cheeks and chin. I came across a topic about Niacin that I found really interesting and there is a skin whitening soap mentioned in it that I am hearing good things about. It's called Likas Papaya Whitening Soap and it's all natural. I'm starting to use it today and am hoping the marks will fade. I normally roll my eyes at anyone telling me that this magic soap, pill (or whatever) will work, but after seeing the original poster's
  8. Okay so here is a 5 day update! I've been taking 500mg of No Flush Niacin (Inositol) every evening after dinner and I'm pretty content with my results so far. The exisiting acne I had has gone down significantly and I'm waiting for it to completely vanish and the best news is that I haven't had ONE new pimple since I started it. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that this will give me good results! I've been taking pictures but they are so terrible I don't want to post them just yet. Once I s
  9. asn, looks like we found ourselves online at the same time! It's funny, my hubby and I just got home from a 2 hour search around Dallas for the Likas Papaya Soap! No luck finding it though...I'm ordering it from Amazon as we speak. I went out and got the Niacin today too and will get it started tonight. We're going to take pictures too and document any changes. I read somewhere (not sure if it was your topic or not) about the SkinWhite Face Solution Whitening cream...have you heard of it (or
  10. I know how you feel...I've been going thru the same thing. I came across a post today that really made an impression on me, and I'm going to give the suggestion a try. I think you should read it before going to the derm to see if it's something you would want to try beforehand. It seems to be successful and is chemical free. Here is the post: http://www.acne.org/messageboard/SUCCESS-C...ci-t242960.html Good luck! JC
  11. asn, I started reading your post on the original post and followed it over here. I've actually spent most of tonight reading all of it, and I normally stay away from forums.... I relate so much to you and most of the other posters. I actually had really good skin for a long time, even as a teenager I never had pimples (well okay, maybe one or two went Aunt Flo came to visit) but even then hardly never. It wasn't until I turned 25 or so that I started getting pimples on a regular basis and it h
