  1. Wow, it's been a while since I've been on this site! I've sort of forgotten how nice it is to have a community of people for support when you're feeling down! :) Glad to be back.

  2. I'm currently unemployed and have started to wonder if my difficulty in finding a job isn't simply due to the economy, but perhaps also due to my acne. Statistics (apparently) show that people suffering with acne are less likely to be hired by an employer. Has anyone heard of these stats? To what extent/ capacity do you think they are true?
  3. hi there, i also just joined recently in the hope that i can find some answers to my problems ... all the best and hope we can find answers to our problems ... cheers

  4. Hey Christof! Did you try exfoliating before putting on your moisturizer? My skin has been extremely flakey lately, but I've gotten rid of most of it by using an exfoliating scrub (ones with the little beads).
  5. I use the MAC Studio Fix Fluid SPF15 foundation. It's formulated for oily skin, so I feel fine wearing it all day. It's oil-free, so it shouldn't cause breakouts. I've actually been breaking out significantly less since I switched to using MAC from general drug-store makeup brands. You can talk to a MAC representative on their website (click live chat), and you can get more answers about their makeup. Good luck!

  12. I just wrote about this in another post, but here it is again: When I was at my college graduation, my best friend's mother said to me "You used to be so pretty, what happened? You're ugly now!" She never even congratulated me on graduating-- all she noticed was my skin. That hurt more than anything. I immediately felt like crying, and as soon as I left the graduation reception, I did.
  13. There is a study that provides evidence for niacinamide in combination with zinc having anti-inflammatory properties. It can be found on the NIH website at: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16871773?ordinalpos=2&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_DefaultReportP anel.Pubmed_RVDocSum Here's the abstract for the study: The mechanisms of action of nicotinamide and zinc in inflammatory skin disease.
