  1. Thanks, Sooroo! I occasionally will eat chocolate or other sweets that are gluten free. I'm not that big on sweets through, so if I do it's once or twice a week. I've found several snacks that are gluten free, but they are more like chips or pretzel sticks made out of rice. I've tried cutting out gluten a little bit before and it didn't make a difference for me. Before I cut out all gluten, I tried various versions of an anti inflammatory diet hoping that it would at least bring improvement, b
  2. After 15 years, my skin looks okay. I've had moderate to severe cystic/hormonal acne for so many years that I can't remember not waking up with at least a half dozen new pimples/cysts every day. I've tried countless over-the-counter and prescription meds over the years, including: proactive, bp, benzaclin, metro gel, tazorac, doxy and minocycline. The minocycline was the only medication that really made a big difference. I took 50-100 mg/day for about a year and a half and had a glimpse of wh
  3. I think I'm done with trying all sorts of medications, and I would like to try Accutane. After reading a bunch of mixed stuff about it, I would like to take a low-medium dose of about 20-40 mg (max) a day, but I get the sense that a lot of doctors want to prescribe much more than that. I understand that with higher doses, chances of skin clearing permanently are greater, but I am not comfortable with the possibility of the side effects. So... anyone have any success with lower dose treatments
  4. Thank you very much for the reply Dan.
  5. Anyone? Dan? Is it being packaged in the new tube yet?
  6. I am also from Romania...I spent half of my life there, and began getting pretty bad acne before I even left the country - (right before I got my first period, so it was probably in large part due to hormones as well). I was on the same diet as my parents. This was before there were any fast food joints anywhere in sight...we ate pretty decent food. I'm pretty sure my acne problems come from my mother, who had shitty skin in her teens, and into her twenties....just like me. I think it really ha
  7. Does anyone know anything about when the new packaging for Dan's BP comes out?
  8. I'm in Toronto, and I've received two orders, of 2 tubes each. Each order took about 10-14 days.
  9. also, be aware that a lot of brown breads sold in supermarkets are just as bad as white breads. they are loaded with sugar and additives, and some even have colour in them to make them look browner. if you can get bread from a good bakery, it's probably better.
  10. Two things make a really big difference for me. - My eyebrows are naturally thicker, and when I pluck them, I try to emphasize their natural arch...meaning, no straight line above your eyes kind of look. That just makes your eyes look smaller. The more space between the higher point on your eyebrows and your eyes, the bigger your eyes will look. - I also use a product called "WaterCool Shadow - in colour no.083" - it's basically an eyeshadow in a tube. It's kind of sparkly, and the colour is v
  11. Give it a shot. I've read about garlic helping with acne as well, so it may be worth trying. If anything, it will really help your general health at least, if you eat it every day.
  12. Hello all, I've been trying to find a good, natural line of cosmetics that is not really, really pricy. Specifically, I'm looking for something without parabens or petrochemicals of any kind. Basically, as chemical-free as possible. I have light skin, and am almost acne free since I've started using Dan's BP gel, but I still have scars that haven't dissapeared, and some red marks. Anyone have any ideas?
  13. A really great acidophillus supplement is Natural Factors - Acidophillus and Bifidus (Double Strength - 10 billion cells). I've used this one for years, and I'm pretty sure it's one of the best ones out there.
