  1. I have a huge cyst on the top of my shoulder and I do not know how long I have had it- at least six months. It won't come to a head, it isn't shrinking in size, and every time I have tried to pop it, only blood comes out. I know it has a ton of gunk in there somewhere, it is huge!! I have tried placing hot compresses on it but it's useless. Any other ideas to try before I finally just give in and go to the doc?
  2. I have had moderate- severe acne for the last 2 years. It has really been horrible this last year. I develop cysts on my forehead and chin, and I have huge blackheads everywhere else. I have a new pimplke or two popping up every few days, and I pick the crap out of them! I am a stay at home Mom, so I have the luxury of not having to leave the house. And I haven't, it's been that bad. I have forbid my husband to tell anyone why I never come around anymore, because I feel it is too embarassing. H
  3. I know they say not to, but I would very gently squeeze the gunk out, making sure you wash your face and hands first, and don't let the crap get on the rest of your skin. If you have to force it out at all, don't do it! Make sure you put medicine on it afterwards.
  4. I have a huge problem of attacking every single tiny pore that has a black head in it (and on my face, that's just about every pore). I honestly don't believe that I would even have sores on my face if I didn't pick at it. So here's my question- what does a normal face look like up close? When I am not broke out, and I look really close at my face, just about every single pore is clogged with debris. But, I'm sure I am the only one who can see that, because the dots are no bigger than if you d
  5. I have the exact same problem, but it's got to the point where I am quite torturous with my face when I squeeze them out, which causes lots of damage and huge breakouts. The only thing that helps me is light exfoliating every day/every other day and salicylic acid. Oh, and especially not picking anymore! You should also use a clay mask once a week.
  6. I get these marks all the time from those huge pimples that take forever to go away. However, they do fade on me but it takes like 2-3 months for it to completely be gone. I read somewhere that you shouldn't tan while you have these, because it can make the marks even darker.
  7. Thanks everyone! I guess I'll keep doing it once a week, I don't reapply during the day.
  8. Back when I was in middle and high school, you were "cool" if you used clinique everything. So of course I made my father go out and spend almost $40 on Clinique Superfit foundation and that little green pressed powder compact. My skin wasn't that greasy, and this foundation is not good for someone with drier skin, which I had back then. I don't remember it covering that well, and I have used better foundations for half the price. I'm not sure how it would look on someone with oilier skin. Altho
  9. I have used a lot of foundations over the years (drugstore) and here are my favorites. When I had clear skin, I loved using Neutrogena Skinclearing liquid foundation. My skin has golden undertones, and the Softest Gold matched my face perfectly. However, this foundation has pretty light coverage and is not good for someone who is trying to cover up a lot of spots. It dries to a silky finish that is not too matte. It has a small amount of salicylic acid in it, but not enough to dry out your face
  10. I soak all my makeup brushes with liquid antibacterial hand soap every once in a while, but I feel I should be doing this more often. How many times a week should I do this for acne prone skin? Is once a week not enough? Thanks!
  11. The only thing Benzoyl Peroxide does for me is dry out my skin really bad, and I do not have sensitive skin at all. It makes the pimple develop a huge scab, and takes even longer to heal. And I ruined a new pillowcase before because I didn't know that it would bleach it. I swear, that stuff made my acne even worse. I absolutely love salycilic acid, it does not dry my face out at all. I use the Neutrogena Hydrating Acne Treatment, and it does a wonderful job of soothing red bumps overnight.
  12. Hi! I am 24 years old, and I have had problems with moderate acne for the past 2 years. I know this sounds stupid, but I think it is self induced. No matter what I do, I have severely clogged pores. I would say that 75% of the pores on my face contain blackheads. I also suffer from something else, although I'm not sure what to call it. I get these areas on my face that aren't inflamed, but if you squeeze them you wouldn't believe the crap that comes out. Yes, I know it's disgusting. Anyway, I h
