  1. Do you mean redmarks or facial flushing? Redmarks isnt really a side effect of accutane, accutane can make them heal slower but it isnt the cause or anything. Some people like me are just prone to redmarks, even before taking accutane, alot of redmarks can last for 1yr +
  2. hey how bad is your skin this time around? Did you suggest accutane, or did the new derm? I'm around 6-month post, and i'm getting mild acne pretty frequently, was thinking about heading back to the derm, i thought they might want to try topicals or something though.
  3. it still is in your system generally for a month or so I think. It'll get better. You'll probably need a maintence program later maybe, unless you are one of the lucky ones. My derm did the same thing basically, just told me enjoy and said i didnt need to do anything. It's 6-7months post now, and i'm getting pretty frequent mild acne, I think i need to go back and get something.
  4. i took bactrim for 1month prior and 1st month of my accutane course. I stil did get an IB, but it wasnt that bad, since my skin was heading for the worse anyway, so could of just been a bad breakout lol.
  5. Hey if you are not working or earning alot, you can apply for a low income healthcare card. I think it's if you earn less then $450ish a week. With it a box of roaccutane is only like $7~. Goodluck on your course.
  6. Basically what Karam said, i already decided i wanted accutane before i went to my GP, and i knew GPs cant prescribe it. So I didnt even talk to my GP about acne, i just straight away ask for a referral to a derm, i dont think i even mentioned accutane to him.
  7. ^ Hamilton Skin Therapy Light Cream and Cetaphil moisturizing cream are good. Cetaphil is the stronger one so might be too greasy for the day.
  8. i'm not a fan of clinques systems, they never really did anything for me. I would go back to the derm, i heard topicals work better after accutane, so maybe try them first, if not then maybe accutane again. That's what i'll do if mine comes back. Also your originally dose was low for your bodyweight and time, you wouldnt of hit the cumulative dose of 120-150mg which puts you at the best chance of permanent remission.
  9. Well i did for a while, took accutane, but now im like 3months post, and i think it might be coming back. Like right now i got 4 pinsize whiteheads on my forehead, which probably doesnt sound like much, but im not sure if it means they are coming back. Accutane is still probably the best chance of being mostly clear though, haven't got any big pimples in a long time, and my blackheads are still gone. Also proactive sucks, you're not missing out on much, it is basically just overpriced BP, and y
  10. Hey it could just be the IB and nothing to do with internal stuff. I got like the biggest pimple of my life underneath my right eye, during the first month of accutane. Actually not the biggest since it wasnt raised that much, but it was long like almost 2inches and hard, i dont think it was inflamed though. I dont really know what type of pimple it was, and yeah I dont think i've ever gotten one in that area before. Also my IB though not that bad mainly happened in an area with occasional brea
  11. Not a lot, some...... I think the majority look like someone you would see at work or school, they just have a lot more people working on them to make them look beautiful. Of course there are some that are stunning w/o all the makeup, but, again, I've seen stunning women in real life, too. I think that was her point. It's some of those stunning women you see in real life, that are the ones that become models and actresses. I mean many of them are scouted in the streets, so this is before
  12. Damn that must of been hella embarrassing lol. I havent even had a bad experience yet, but i hate hairdressers, mainly just the staring at my face for that long, and thats without something bleeding!
  13. haircut basically lol Mainly I just dont want to look in the mirror for like half an hour straight just staring at myself, to see all the marks and shit, also paranoid of hairdressers thinking 'wtf' or making a comment about my skin, when cutting my hair i'm not embarassed with the other stuff though, especially doctor you shouldnt be , they are there to help, and they would of seen much worse stuff then acne. edit: actually yeah when I broke out probably was a little embarassed for the other

  15. nah it shouldnt i weightlifted during accutane, though near the end i didnt do it that much, not because of joint problems/sorness since i never experienced that, but because accutane was making me more tired, so i couldnt be bothered. I cleared up pretty early into my course and weightlifting didnt make me breakout more, i dont even wash my face after i lift, since i dont like overwashing, i just wipe the sweat away with my hands, maybe not the best idea though...
  16. know that you can just go back on it? another course? low-dose maintenance? apparently topicals are more effective as well after tane? dont think about it?
  17. you're freaking cute good luck on tane, im approaching 3months post-tane and i only get the occasional pimple so hopefully it stays like that. I'm also 19 and i wish i took accutane A LOT earlier since now i got scarring, but your skin doesnt actually look too bad, so I can imagine your skin clearing up as good as new
  18. The other guy that replied basically has the same opinion as me. Most girls actually do wear makeup, especially stuff like eyeliner and mascara, so it's normal. Like the other guy i dont personally like it when girls do all the colorful eyeshadow and stuff though, i like it more natural so more simple. What looks most unnatural and when I talk about 'caked' on is more to do with foundation. From what I gather you dont apply that much, it's normal to be able to tell if you are right up to some
  19. I cant help you with your issue but.. you are seriously really good looking, just from your two pictures I cant pick out anything that would look better with surgery. Also your boyfriend is goodlooking as well, and im not even gay! So you obviously dont have a problem attracting guys.
  20. like the other guys have said, most guys dont care about makeup as long as it's not caked on. Also i'm not sure if it's just due to the amount of makeup use or different method or something, but some girls that wear makeup make it look really natural.
  21. i got two outbreaks that both came in like 1day. One was in second week, one was in fourth week. I'm not even sure if they were IB though, since i'm suppose to get pimples anyway or i wouldnt be on accutane yeah? Since besides them two one day breakouts, i basically cleared up straight away. As in i was clear after that breakout in the second week from any new pimples, until the fourth week, then like 98% clear until i finished. The only thing is those pimples took longer to go down then normal.
  22. nah melb I think i got similiar, they arent too deep, but man i got heeaaps. Good luck on the accutane, my course was for 5months 20days so basically 6months, i did 40 first month and 60 for the remainder, but i only weigh like 63kgs, so that was enough to hit like 150mg cummulative dose. I'm like 2months post now, and i still get a couple of little pimples here and there that dont bother me, so hopefully it stays like that Good luck on your scar treatment as well, you still generally got to wa
  23. thanks You done with accutane? I see most of your posts are in the scar forum, something i need to look into now as well, if only i did accutane earlier What type of scars you got and have you tried anything yet? Anything work?
  24. Yeah i pay that $7 as well because of low income healthcare card. Also i had 3 blood tests done, and they are suppose to be free, but i got sent a bill after my last one for $75, what the hell lol. I didnt even need that test since that was a month AFTER my tane course, just to make sure everything is good still. Anyway I didnt even notice the letter until today, and it told me to pay last month which obviously i didnt, so im going to wait for another reminder, then see what's up with that. That
