  1. Okay so I had this really big pimple on the side of my nose. I immediately spot treated with 5% BP and left it overnight for two nights. The pimple eventually subsided and now I have a darkened burn-like area of dry, scaly skin. I have been using bacitracin on it for almost a week and cover it with a bandaid at night. I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions to make the patch heal faster. Thanks
  2. Okay so I've been reading a lot about folliculitis and am starting to think that this is what I have. I recently started using benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin topical gel for about a month, which is when I started noticing these tiny whitehead looking things around my mouth and laugh lines. They dont have solid plugs that come out when they pop but a little clear fluid. They DO NOT come in clusters and I usually get around 4 a day( Usually not really close together). After they pop I put clinda
  3. At first I thought it was folliculitis but I went to my regular doctor and he said it looks like just whiteheads since they pop easily and usually go away fast. However they do seem to come back, never in the exact same place, but in the same areas. I usually prick the top and they drain a little fluid. They usually heal after I put the clindamycin on them so he said it probably isnt an infection. I've researched folliculitis and its really hard to tell if thats what I have. I trust my doctor wh
  4. Thank you for taking the time to respond!... I am using the Greenstone Brand... As for the washing my face I know its a bit much... I think I'll try to limit the amount of times I wash my face.....I am slowly cutting back on the BP and it seems to help a little... My face isnt as dry.... I also tried an exfoliating face wash from aveeno to see if it helps with the clogged pores......I had a question though...What comes out of clogged pores?....Does it have to be solid plugs? because I've noticed
  5. I have been using BP %5 face wash about three times a day and clindamycin posphate gel. I first wash my face with aveeno ultra calming foaming cleanser, then BP, and then apply clindamycin .I dont usually use a moisturizer after washing my face. Only sometimes when I go out I'll use cetaphil daily facial moisturizer with spf. I noticed that ever since I started using the BP and clindamycin that every morning I wake up and theres whiteheads around my laughlines and mouth. Occasionally on my chin
  6. Really? I was so scared that it was going to stop working after a month. Im already done with my first bottle and it's only been almost three weeks. I think I kinda overdue it when I start to feel bumps coming up. Thanks for your advice I really appreciate it. I'm going to see a derm soon so hopefully they will help with something.
  7. I am new to this and had a question. I wanted to know if you can develop resistance to benzoyl peroxide? I am currently using 5% face wash and just wanted to know if it becomes less effective in the future?.... Thank you. oh yeah quick questions: Whats the difference between the gel and the face wash? Do you leave the gel on without washing it off? Is it used as just a spot treatment? Does it have more side effects? Which is more effective?
  8. I know how you feel. I'm feeling quite down myself too. I do think that stressing out could be making it worse. Are you using a moisturizer? I too had very dry skin when trying BP but my skin adjusted to it. Maybe you should try washing your face less often or try a daily moisturizer. I think that your face is just irritated causing the skin to be more aggravated. Sorry I wasnt of much help but I do hope that things get better for you =) Keep your head up!
  9. Yeah I know that using it three times a day isnt so good. In the beginning my face was getting really dry. However I think that my skin adjusted to it because its no where near being that dry. My face doesnt flake and doesnt feel tight anymore. I think the clindamycin kinda helps to moisturize it too. Whenever I leave the house I apply a small amount of clindamycin on problem areas, then I moisturize with cetaphil facial moisturizer with spf, and then apply my makeup. Otherwise I dont usually m
  10. At first it started as a papule then I stupidly poked it constantly with a needle to squeeze whatever out. Bad idea because it didnt work! Then it became itchy and I put everything imaginable on it including hydrocortisone, vitamin e, and even abreva. It initially healed but all of a sudden it came back. I went to the doctor and he told me it was impetigo (staph/strepp infection). The mupirocin cleared it pretty fast but I was worried about it spreading so I took an oral antibiotic too. Maybe yo
  11. Thank you for your advice. You're right I'm probably making myself stress out way too much about it that its actually causing me to breakout. I'll try to relax more but its still very hard. I'm contstantly looking in the mirror for any type of flaw or bump. I even tried dieting. I only drink water(no juice or soda), I dont eat dairy anymore, and I only eat about 1 meal a day. I think I've lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks. It kinda sucks because I always used to eat whatever I wanted and wasnt so stress
  12. What antibiotic are you taking? I had something similar and it turned out to be an infection. I was put on bactrim for a week and mupirocin ointment and it cleared.
  13. Im 20 yrs old. I havent really had problems with acne before. I recently had a bad breakout of about 3 papules that ruined my face for about a month. I felt really depressed and stayed in the house that whole month. After that I went to the doctor because all I could think about was what if this happens again?. Before I would usually get one bad pimple that I could deal with but I drive myself crazy everyday thinking that its going to happen again. I just started taking birth control 3 weeks ago
  14. How long did it take for it to start working for you? Did it take time for your body to adjust? I noticed that the first 1 or 2 weeks I started getting a lot of whiteheads? Did this happen to you?

Would you say that your acne got worse after the first month or kind of stayed the same? Did you switch to another type of birth control?? Or do you have any recommendations? Thanks
