  1. Are you just taking DIM Vitex? I have been taking DIM Vitex with Lipotopic complex, but am wondering if I should just take the DIM Vitex. Do you take 1 a day. Any input that has worked for you would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Anyone tried D Chiro Inositol?

i don't have diabetes and have not been tested for IR. i was suffering from estrogen dominance and that is why i started taking the vitex. while researching vitex on a PCOS forum, i kept reading about women who were using inositol or DCI for PCOS, IR, and fertility issues. upon looking further into inositol, i read that it was good to take for obsessive compulsive disorders. i have always been pretty obsessive with skin picking and it did not help with my acne. i read about others using inositol to help lessen that urge to skin pick and figured i would try it to help curb that behavior.

    Question About ACV (Drink)

there is a brand sold here that has manuka honey in it. the honey seems to mellow out that bite or burning sensation of ACV. you could try adding some honey to your ACV. personally, i prefer ACV with out the honey and just dilute it with a lot of water.

    vitex

i have been using vitex since may of 2009 for estrogen dominance. i don't remember getting an IB with it, but i did notice that my skin and PMS symptoms seemed to improve within the first cycle (month) of taking it. i did end up going to a stronger dose at about 12 weeks after starting vitex. i initially started taking natures way vitex and it said to take 2 pills (450mg)per day for 8 weeks and then decrease down to one pill after wards. when i did that, i noticed my acne and PMS getting worse again. so i did some more research and learned that different doses and types of vitex will work differently for women. i switched to Thompson 1000mg vitex and take that once a day. when i switched brands and dosage, i noticed an improvement in my PMS and acne. the weird thing is i noticed that i was getting pimples in new places, like on my cheeks, and they were red spots that took a while to heal. maybe that could be considered an IB since i typically never got acne there in the past (i was mostly getting cyst on my forehead and chin). those red spots went away and heeled fully after a couple of months, and i have not had them since. i have been very happy with the results i have gotten from vitex.

    Anyone tried D Chiro Inositol?

i am taking standard inositol (650mg, 3x a day) and have been taking it since november. i decided to try it first since DCI is so much more expensive. for me, it seems to have decreased the oiliness of my skin and also has help to subdue anxiety that was causing me to be a skin picker. i have been happy with the results. i have noticed no weight gain either. i also take 1000mg of vitex a day and i think both of these have helped to get me 95% clear.

    Anyone have mid-cycle acne?

i use to get nasty cysts mid-cycle and then more just before my period. i have been taking vitex (1000mg/day) since may of last year and it has helped a lot. if i do get any pimples, they are small and clear up in a few days now. how long have you been taking it for? it can take a while for it to work effectively and you might need to adjust the dosage. also, try to take it first thing in the morning about the same time each day.

A little survey about fish oil

    1. Do you use fish oil pills? yes 2. How much fish oil and omega 3 are you consuming every day? 5 x 1000mg per day 3. Do you care what brand they are? If 'yes' what brand and why? not too particular, usually use blackmore or healtheries 4. How long have you been taking fish oil pills? 1 year 5. Are you seeing effect on your skin? maybe a little, not sure. still got pimples after using it. although, i have noticed that it really has helped my joints, knees and elbows, with being less stiff or sore. if i decrease my dosage i will notice my joints aching again. 6. On what information did you base your dicision to (not) use fish oil pills? reviews i read here, plus i knew it has other health benefits.

Anyone else's quality of life improve due to acne?

that is a good question. i would have to say yes. if it wasn't for the cystic acne i was suffering from, i might not have discovered that a lot of my problems were actually caused by estrogen dominance. so not only have i been able to get rid of the cystic acne i was suffering from, but i am no longer suffering from horrible PMS symptoms, anxiety, and depression. i feel better physically and mentally then i have for a long time, even if i do still get some pimples on my face.

High Fructose Corn Syrup food list

thankfully HFCS is only found in few products here in new zealand, and usually those products are the ones imported from the states. even coke still is made with sugar here, not HFCS.
  14. hi mumble, when i stopped drinking milk everyday and eating ice cream, it seemed to help in reducing some of the cystic acne i was getting. i still eat a little cheese occasionally, including tasty, edam, colby and mozzarella. the hardest one to give up for me is cream cheese. i even sneak in a little ice cream sometimes and seem to be ok. it took about 2 weeks to see improvements after stopping milk.

    Chasteberry (Vitex) and Hormone Regulation

i have been taking vitex for just over 8 months now. i am happy with the results in regards to how it has eased a lot of my PMS symptoms (painful abdominal bloating, breast tenderness, moodiness including anxiety and depression) and how it has helped to reduce my acne. it has not completely rid my face of pimples, i still get some spots just before TTOM, but i no longer get painful, large cystic acne. and in regards to my libido, i can say it has not decreased any and that personally for me, the big O seems stronger and more intense since i stated taking vitex. for me, i have found that i had better results with a higher dosage, 1000mg per day, and i take it first thing in the AM at about the same time. i started with natures made 450mg capsules (took two a day in the beginning like the instructions say), and did notice some results with in the first month. i then tried a tincture, but seemed to regress in progress. i finally switched to thompsons 1000mg capsules and have stuck with those. i have read that different types/brands of vitex will work better then others for different women. for me, vitex has been a godsend and it is like a night and day difference in how i feel compared to just over a year ago. if you try it, i hope you get some good results from it.
