    1. Carol, Just wanted to thank you for this post. I am in a similar situation to you, and desperately trying to "mind over matter" my out of this situation- not dump on the products, scrub my face to death, or pick away. it's really hard. I appreciated your clarity and honesty!
    2. I finished a 2nd accutane course about 2 months ago, and my acne is like it never left. I've been desperately trying to find a dietary reason for my bad skin. I eat very well though. Although I have a sweet tooth, but make a point to not have too much. I cut out coffee once and it didn't make any difference. Same with dairy. Though I may try cutting them both again out of pure desperation.
    3. Sorry about whatever went wrong when I tried to post last. I'm done with Accutane, so will be leaving this post. I'm back on topicals and antibiotics and my skin is still bad. Unbelievable. Hope accutane works for others....
    4. Day 125ish: THE END I've officially been taken off accutane because I've approached the maximum yearly intake. I was on accutane for just over 7 months, at 100mgs for the past 2 months. While accutane helped my skin, I hate to report that I am not one of those people who had amazing results. 8. Day 195: Wow it's been a whole month since I posted! Ok, well to keep in short, my skin is "ok", not great, and still really irritated. I'm over 6 months in with only decent progress. What's more annoying is that my side effects are bordering on unbearable. My body ALWAYS aches, I have bad rashes on my arms and particularly my neck, I have bug bites that won't heal, amongst others. I have my appointment tomorrow and will have a serious conversation about whether to just quit this whole thin
    9. Day 165: Am one week into my 6th month. Good: rarely get large, multi-headed cysts Bad: still breaking out clogged pores redness and irritation achy joints some peeling occasional rashes on arms and neck fatigue melasma As you can see, one column is longer than the other....
    10. Hi Acnesufferer, I'm currently on my second course, but I did both courses later in life than you. (1st at 22 and 2nd now at 28) You can check out my blog for my experience over the past 5 months if you want to hear about it in excruciating detail. As always, I preface this advice with the fact that everyone is different, and accutane is such a personal decision. But here's what my experience has been like... 1. I had a heads up about on the dryness issue. I had great moisturizer and l
    11. Day 148: So it's about my 3rd day on 90ms. I don't know if it's psycho-somatic, but I do feel worse. I was achy from the 80ms, not I feel even worse. I'm going to give it a week or so to see, but I may have to call my derm and tell her I just can't take it. The 80mgs was already doing me in. I'm only 125 lbs, so it's not like 80mgs is a low dose. I've also noticed that my dandruff/dry scalp has gotten worse. I've been using head and shoulders from the beginning but it simply isn't workin
    12. Hi Susie, Yeah things are rough on my end. I was supposed to be almost done, but my course has been extended and my dosage increased. You can get the full sob story on my blog. Anyways, I'm about 125lbs as well, and I just went to 90mgs. Seems a little high, but we will see. I hate being on this medicine and wonder what it's doing to my liver... How have your side effects been? Mine have certainly gradually gotten worse. I need a ton of sleep and I'm always achy. I would just recommend
    13. 144: Most post because I'm at my wits end... Almost done with my 5th month but having a bad breakout. Went to my derm who says she is really disappointed with my "progress" and we have to bump me up again. To 90mgs. We are also extending my course...who knows how long. I'm achy and tired all the time and because of this we aren't bumping me to 100 mgs, which was the original plan. I'M SO TIRED OF THIS MEDICINE AND ALL THE BS THAT COMES WITH IT. The biggest frustration is that my skin has
    14. Day 142: Alright... Good news: definitely getting less breakouts. Bad news: I've gotten melasma due to my birth control. I FEARED this would happen, as it did before with other methods that I've tried. So far it's not terrible, but it's pretty noticable. It makes it hard to feel remotely relieved about any of the acne progress I've made. I go to the derm on friday so who knows what I'll do... Apart from that, feeling blah in general... tired, achy, sick of this process, sick of all t
    15. Hi Dana, I'm in my 20s as well on my second course. Let's hope this works. For my eyes I just use basic redness relief drops (off-brand). I think they key is to use them about 4 times a day consistently, then they will start to help. For lips, lip medex in the blue tin is the best stuff in the world I'm convinced. You still have to re-apply a lot, but I think it's great stuff. Good luck
