  1. Hello everyone, I started a course of retin-a and noticed that my skin was slightly less oily at first and my pores appeared tighter. BUT after a couple weeks my skin got a lot oilier. I'm guessing that this is because it thins the top-most layers of skin as it plumps the layers underneath? Anyways I stopped using it to see if my already over oily skin would calm down a little. Not sure if it has yet. Has anyone had experience with this? Does the skin get oilier with retin-a use, then
  2. Hello everyone, I am battling an area of skin on my face that was thinned due to steroid use used to combat rosacea flares. It's from my nostril to the corner of my mouth. The skin appears wrinkly now on top of my rosacea flares. The odd thing is that every so often that area actually looks pretty good, it's plump and you can't tell that the skin was thinned. Does anyone have any suggestions or has been through this and repaired the damage done by the steroids?
  3. Which one works better for drying up t-zone oil production? I started tetracycline a couple weeks ago and I don't notice anything at all. I don't get acne that often anymore, just have a really really oily nose that flares my rosacea and sebderm.
  4. i also suffer from the wrinkled look on my cheeks mainly. oddly if i wake up in the middle of the night and go to the mirror quick, more times than not my cheeks look almost normal, no redness or wrinkles.
  5. stick in there eastwood. i too used to consider myself and pretty good looking guy and was used to having a girlfriend and friends around. since my onset of sd 2 1/2 years ago, i have shut myself out of the outside world for the most part. what sucks is i just mvoed to nyc and was really excited about starting over here, 6 months after moving the sd started and my confidence was shattered. what i use as motivation is my desire to become that guy again, not shut everyone out and get my confiden
  6. Jesus think we have problems.. http://books.google.com/books?id=7D4ekHg71...tis&f=false Dermatitis is covered and these people have it really bad.
  7. I have been rubbing a mix of organic olive oil, organic coconut oil, dead sea salt and baking soda on my SD affected areas a couple hours a day this week and I think it's too early to report anything, but I'll post my results in a week or so. The most troublesome thing for me is the constant redness from the corner of my nose to the corners of my mouth. I have tried everything to keep it at bay and nothing has worked. There's a bunch of ways to keep the flaking down, which is pretty easy to ac
  8. anyone ave any of these symptoms along with their sd.. dry hands white tongue fatigue dry eyes after trying practically everything else, i'm going to try and tackle this as adrenal gland dysfunction or hypothyroidism.
  9. just thought i'd re-post this message i found, it has a lot of good information i think is helpful for us suffers. -- REPOST Seborrheic dermatitis is linked to the immune system, as is eczema, acne , dandruff. 75% of the immune system is found in the gut, so to begin treating the problem you have to go to the root. Seborrheic dermatitis is linked to a yeast overgrowth of candida, which occurs when the balance of good bacteria is tipped in favour of the bad bactera. Seborrheic dermatitis sympt
  10. I have discoloration on my face due to seborrheic dermatitis, tinea versicolor, melasma and most likely candida. All of which I am treating separately. Anyone have any experience with this laser? What kind of downtime can be expected? Anyone have good results? I am considering going in on a Saturday morning to have treatment done and am hoping that by Monday morning you won't be able to tell I had the treatment. If this is the cast I'll probably have 3 treatments.

  12. sidra, some people have flares from food allergies. i recently had a food and environmental allergy test and came up negative to everything which as surprising because i'm vegan. today i flared up really red down the creases by my nose and around it. i happened to be looking in the mirror at the time and have no clue what caused the flare. a minute later the redness was barely visible. this happens to me a lot and i don't know why. best guess is something is being released through the oily (vu
  13. it doesnt work for everyone though. there are a few other shampoos you should cycle with h&s every few weeks.
  14. i believe i have an infection which is why all my efforts have failed. i have done around 6 cleanses and am doing another now. i can tell it is working because i'm breaking out which tells me there is an internal infection that i have thus been able to heal. hopefully the dorxy will eradicate the infection. i have avoided other steroid creams after i found out the side effects, so i will do the same with this one. if only i could find something strong enough to stop the redness that wasn't a st
  15. just went to the derm again since my symptoms we're getting worst and was prescribed a few things i thought i'd share. the derm didn't think my symptoms we're anything out of ordinary, so that makes me feel good that this treatment will help. here's my new treatment plan: morning: wash cafe with cerave, pat dry apply finacea apply locoid lipocream (optional) night: wash cafe with cerave, pat dry apply finacea take one doryx (will need to take for 3 months most likely) has anyone tried any
