Moisturizer
The change in the formula of the moisturizer was a great choice. No more yellow tone on my skin. The new one blends in perfectly on my skin. Keep up the good work. All your products are great.

Loving the new formula!
Thanks Dan for changing the formula. I am loving this one. Not sticky and thick as the old formula. I will continue to subscribe with the treatment and glycolic acid lotion along with this. Great job!

Great moisturizer that won’t cause acne!
Best moisturizer I have tried. I use it with the regimen. It does not cause acne. It makes my skin glow. It works well under SPF (I use Cetaphil Dermacontrol SPF 30 on top of it). It fully absorbs in. It does not pill. I think it helps with post acne marks too by fading them with the licochalone. It also has antioxidants which I like.

Don't like the change
I really loved this lotion until the ingredient change this year. The prior version was amazing and I would have given it a 5/5, however the new version does not do nearly as good of a job moisturizing. Even after putting on several layers of the new version, my skin still feels dry. I really hope it goes back to the previous ingredients, as the yellow coloration didn't bother me in the slightest.

It took some getting used to
I noticed the moisturizer was different. I thought maybe I got a weird batch and was frantically looking for info online, only to find out what happened in the reviews. It would've been a lot easier to try and adapt if the company had some transparency with it's customers, such as putting in pamphlets to explain the change, or at least writing an article online. I'm not sure if acne.org has a pr team.
At first I thought it burned but, I kept observing and kept using it and it's a fairly regular moisturizer, and still doesn't clog my pores, and there was no additional burning apart from that initial try, so it could've been mental. I noticed the slight difference in scent/color.
It's hard to say I wasn't attached to the old formula too. Technically speaking, the current moisturizer is still serving it's purpose from what I can tell.

The "new" formula is terrible.
Have been a customer for MORE THAN FOURTEEN years (since before the 2008 store revamp). I know the products very well by now, as you'd imagine. The second-to-last bottle of moisturizer I bought was milky in consistency. This can't be explained by normal variations. It was a broken emulsion or bad batch or something. When I contacted customer service, they were obnoxious in their insistence that it was normal (again, talking to someone that's used the products since GWB was president). And they wouldn't send out a replacement unless I paid to ship the defective bottle out (seems hostile to someone that's been a regular customer since before the store went live and has NEVER before made a payment, shipping, or product complaint).
Just reordered a new bottle and, despite being aware that there were formulation changes said to result in a lighter colored moisturizer, find that the new version isn't just lighter - it's dead white and doesn't even have the customary smell despite having identical ingredient lists. It did not have any kind of tamper-proof seal upon arrival. Just a box, some packing material, and a pump bottle. No manifest, no Regimen documentation or resources. No referral to the website. Just a bottle filled with some sort of unrecognizable lotion that doesn't work the way I'm familiar with. The bottle arrived with a broken pump that leaks valuable fluids every time it's used and I'm disgusted. At one point, the moisturizer was probably the best thing Kern had going - it was CHEAP compared to competing products and of great quality. Now, I'm looking at a $34 bottle of random lotion not up to standards IN ANY WAY, provided by an organization with BAD customer service, and thinking I'll just stick with the name brand stuff. I'm feeling really betrayed, Daniel.

Why did you change the formula?!
I first tried Acne.org in 2015 based on the glowing reviews I saw on YouTube and I definitely was not disappointed. It completely cleared my skin with no issues. I was on a limited budget back then so I tried to substitute this routine with similar products and while it somewhat kept my acne at bay, it wasn’t the same. I was able to repurchase in 2018 and got the cleanser, BP and Glycolic Acid minus the moisturizer (because I found one that I enjoyed). Progressively my skin got dry because while the moisturizer I was using up to that point helped control my oil, it wasn’t enough to keep it hydrated while using the Acne.org products so my skin was clear but dehydrated. I finally decided to get a travel size version of the Acne.org moisturizer in 2021 and OMG I was blown away! My skin was hydrated (but not too oily), my texture improved, it paired wonderfully with my sunscreen and wore amazingly under my makeup. My mom and sister even asked what I was using and I told them about the system, which they’ve started using. After testing the waters with the travel sized moisturizer, I decided to get the 8 oz bottle of this magic in a bottle and boy was I disappointed. The first thing I noticed was the difference in color and the texture, but I didn’t think much of it. When I put it on, it was the weirdest experience, it almost foamed up (for lack of a better word) while you applied it and took forever to absorb. I could just feel it sitting on my skin which I hated and even worse was, again, my skin became dehydrated. I examined the ingredients on this bottle along with the one I had before (the travel sized one) and while they were the same, the experiences were wildly different. This newer one was a lighter yellow color while the one I liked was a darker yellow color. The newer one was more of a gel formula and blended horribly while the one I liked was more of a lotion and blended beautifully. I only had a few more uses left out of the travel sized bottle so in a desperate plea, I contacted their customer service to see if I could get a bottle of the moisturizer I got a few weeks ago and was informed that sadly, the formula had changed. They seemed pretty dismissive to my request so I considered that a dead end. My next best option was looking for it on another website and bingo! I found a seller on Ebay with the formula I liked so I secured a bottle. I’ve been thoroughly enjoying it but sadly I’m running out. I placed an order for my sister which included the travel size glycolic acid and saw that the product is now white which means the formula changed again. I figured if the formula for the glycolic acid changed then the moisturizer did as well and it couldn’t possible be worse than what it is now. Boy was I wrong. The pale yellow moisturizer was bad but the white moisturizer is even worse! It’s the oiliest product I’ve probably ever used and my face burned when using it. If you have even remotely oily skin DO NOT PUT THIS ON YOUR FACE! I tried using just a bit and I’m grease ball. My makeup also looks horrible and I have to blot every hour. I’m also getting more breakouts than despite everything in my routine being the same (Acne.org cleanser, BP & Glycolic Acid (which is thankfully still yellow)so needless to say, irritated.
I appreciate your dedication to skincare, most of your products are amazing and has helped my acne tremendously but you “fixed” something that wasn’t broken when you changed the formula for the moisturizer. If you have any of moisturizers with the darker yellow color laying around, I would LOVE to take them off your hands. Or you can simply change the formula back. Even if no one else buys it, I definitely will cause it’s the best moisturizer I’ve ever used. Until then, the search continues on ebay.

New Moisturizer
I rarely leave reviews, but for this moisturizer (with Jojoba oil) and regimen, I felt obligated too. I live in NJ where climate gets very cold and dry, and every year for the past 5 years I get extremely dry skin. I would have to apply moisturizers 3 times a day just to keep my skin from flaking. These were high brand moisturizers too, Kheils, Origins, Cerave, etc...Not only is this regimen keeping my acne away in record time, I don't even use two pumps of the moisturizer (as instructed), I tried using just one, and to my surprise, it keeps my skin even and free from any dryness ALL DAY. Mind you temperature drops and dryness here are brutal, and my skin is notoriously dry to the point where it was painful to the touch and to move my face. I can't believe this stuff actually works as well as it does, BUT IT DOES. Follow the directions, and get the results, simple. Cannot thank Dan enough for formulating this acne killing regimen, but most of all this moisturizer which keeps my skin strong and healthy looking even after a large benzoyl peroxide application.

Now I’m sure of it
Something has changed in the ingredients and I came to confirm on their site and now I’m sure it what has been giving me an allergic reaction of rash and itching on my face near my mouth and my neck. I’ve used the moisturizer since 2016 and as of recent I begin to have reactions and had no clue why. I stopped using everything for months and kept it basic with vanicream wash and moisturizer only. I went back to try the glycolic lotion, which I believe contain the same ingredients as the moisturizer and surely my face developed the same reaction within ours. Unfortunately, no more of the moisturizer or the glycolic lotion for me, had to trash it. That sucks bc it used to work so well. Also to note when this happens it takes time for my skin to heal and it’s quite annoying to need to care for my skin to return to its normal state when this happens. The rash gets really stained and drying. I hope it doesn’t take longer to care since I noticed it right away as the culprit instead of consistent use as I did before realizing the problem.

not what I expected
I will start off saying I do not know how the old formulation compared to this one. However, one thing I do like about this moisturizer is that it does not irritate skin or cause any breakouts. That being said I am older with oily skin and even I don't find this formulation to be hydrating enough. Even with adding the additional jojoba oil drops or the Vinchy 89 hydrating serum. Since I almost 30 now I understand that with acne products if you use them you need something very hydrating to counteract that. Even with oily skin type and adding in the additional hydrators to help its still not moisturizing enough. I feel like the moisturizer is not a dud but something could be added to really amp this up, there are so many products on the market.

New formula is absolutely horrible
I have reliably been using this product for 4-5 years, and it was the only moisturizer that didn’t irritate my skin or interact with any of my other products in a negative way. To the founder, you keep telling people that have used this product for years that the change in the formula is too small to cause all these new negative effect; maybe you should just accept that this was an unnecessary change to an other wise perfect formula. I have no skin allergies, and haven’t reacted to poorly to your moisturizer for years. With this new formula, my skin is half as moisturized, and I broke out in small whiteheads bumps all over my face, which has NEVER happened with another moisturizer or your old formula. Would not recommend this. And for someone who understand how sensitive acne prone skin can be, it’s quite ridiculous for the founder to tell people that changing the extract and adding 2.5 times the amount won’t affect how the lotion acts on skin. And I actually observed these horrible effects before reading that the formula had change, so it’s far from a placebo effect.

Why can’t you offer the old moisturizer
I started using the new version of the moisturizer around Christmas time. My face has never been more dry. I understand some people didn’t like the color of the old one, but why not offer both?
This moisturizer is the only one I’ve found that works well and now I’m going to have to start the horrible process of trying to find something comparable.
If the new version has cheaper products then make the old version and charge more. Those of us that love the old one would gladly pay a few dollars more.
