  1. Hi there, The title says it all: I have got those red bumps/underneath pimples who will never have a whitehead next to my nose, top cheeks. (both) I fase wash my skin every day, and eat a good diet with enough supplements. I usually dont break out anwhere else on my head, unless I eat something unhealthy etc, but this has been the region that has been buggering me. Does anyone have any sollutions or experiences with this?
  2. Hello everyone, first ever post here. I’ve got these really bad scars from the series of cystic acne I had back when I was 9-13 yo. Some of these scars are from the dermatologist who made incisions to remove the cysts. Throughout the years I think they have become worse with aging and excess sebum. To prevent further damage, I’ve started trying dermarolling (0.75mm for starters) recently once every 4-6 weeks. I’m thinking about TCA cross for these scars, or is it a bad idea? Thanks a lot for your input!
  3. I've had dandruff for more than 10 years on my scalp, but that's not the topic today. Some dandruff has started appearing 3 weeks ago on my eyebrows and below them. Then I saw flaky, dandruffy-lskin on my nose (as you can see). Today I noticed something an inch away from my nose.... what is that? Acne or dandruff? What to do about it?
  4. Here I am back again after 5 years of dormancy. Can you please let me know what I can do about these giant scars on my nose? These pictures are from 5 years ago. Now the scars are a lot deeper and wider. I'm moving deep into my mid-30's and my life is just slipping away like sand through my fingers. Not that I had any life to begin with, but that's another story. Laser is only for superficial scars. I've been thinking about TCA cross but I read on Realself that it only really works for narrow icepick scars and not for the "giant wide icepick scars" like mine. Davin Lim and another derm specifically stated that TCA makes non-narrow icepick scars worse. There was a person with three scars on his nose that had clearly gotten bigger. So I've narrowed down my options to subcision with filler. Looking into Novick. I'm based in Asia so a trip to USA or Israel will not be easy on my wallet, but if it's effective then I'm willing to spend the money. Is microneedling an option too? Any feedback or comment will be appreciated.
  5. Nose cysts. Help!

Ever since summer of 2018 started, I started getting nose cysts!! My acne isn’t usually that bad (except for small pimples on forehead or just random regular pimples that are tiny). I popped 1 on purpose, not knowing what it was. Then, I remember using the apricot scrub and punctured a lot of the cyst, causing a scar. I stopped using any scrubs. As soon as school, started, my nose cysts got worst. I currently have 3 right now. 1 is budging and it’s huge! The 2 other ones are small red irritated bumps. Please help! As a teenager, I get really insecure about walking around school looking like Ruldoph. We can’t afford a dermatologist so I want home remedies or medications. The cysts usually last up to 3 weeks to a month even!! And they don’t really go away unless I pop it. And I don’t want to do that.
  6. Hi all, I've had an issue with my nose now for over a year. What begun as a large, deep sebaceous cyst has become a hypertrophic scar around the area due to me sqeeuzing and bursting the cyst. The cyst itself has not gone away but is smaller and still deep - so not visible on the skin surface. My derm believes I still have a few blocked pores around this area and has started me on Treclin gel (Tretinoin + Clindamycin) 0.025%. The scarring is slap bang in the middle of my nasal bridge so is very visible and has been causing me a lot of emotional distress. My question really is whether I can use silicon gel to treat the small, raised hypertrophic scarring I have from bursting the cyst? Will this interact with the tretinoin or is it safe to use on the same days? The scar actually bothers me the most and causes my nose skin to look raised so I want to target this, but don't believe the Treclin gel will help to reduce this scarring (hence wanting to get on with trying silicon). Thanks in advance, Joel.
  7. 22 year old male here. I've dealt with bad acne since puberty. After graduating college and several months on the acne.org regimen, my face has miraculously cleared of active infections. However, the raised bumps on my nose still remain. Whenever I broke out on my nose, usually a finger-tip sized red area would appear and would be painful to touch. Usually it'd become raised, and then burst and turn dark red for a while before subsiding. Does anybody know if this is hypotrophic scarring? Sebaceous hyperplasia? And what kind of treatment would be best to get rid of these stubborn rascals? When my nose turns red from cold weather, the bumps usually remain less red than the rest of the nose.
  8. So the bumps appeared after a pimple would heal, after a few months of the bumps not disappearing I realized that they might be here to stay. I was wondering if anyone knew what these bumps were and how I could get rid of them or even how long they were going to stay for? They're small but just knowing that they're there and not knowing when they will go away is very frustrated so if anyone has any possible answers, it would be greatly appreciated.
  9. I am thirteen years old and I was very self-conscious about my blackheads and clogged pores. I squeezed the hell out of my nose and I successfully took all my blackheads and clogged pores stuff out only to find that my whole nose was red. It looked like I had a really bad cold. I moisturised it with some Aveeno cream and after a few hours all the redness had gone but it left me with something even worse. I had three red blotchy marks on my face. I thought it would fade overnight. When I woke up the next day, my marks had gone way worse. I read an article saying I should apply lemon juice to it. I did that, but it sort of aggravated it. One of my friends told me to apply ice to it so I had ice on my nose for a good half hour. I was really happy with the results. The marks had faded. A few hours later, the marks had gone dark, horrible and ugly. I have attached a photo of my nose. Someone, please help and tell me what to do. I have to go on holiday with my family in a few weeks. If my nose doesn't get better I will just have to cancel my tickets.
  10. I’m 19 now and for the past 6 years I have suffered with acne. I have been to the doctor several times and each time they have been no help. The acne first started on my nose and it has never gone. I get the most horrific painful cysts so far under my skin there is no way i could pop them at all. They stick out of my nose and there is no way of hiding them. I currently have 5 on my nose now. Two have been there for 6 years they have scarred and left what I Am guessing is a permanent mound on my face, and about two times week I can put pressure on the area and spot juice comes out. The other three I have on my face are only recent and show no sign of leaving either. They are bright red and sore to the touch. I only drink water and I drink a lot lot of it and i excerise in moderation and don’t drink a lot. WHen I have been to the doctor he wasn’t sure at all what was wrong and thought I had a fungus infection so gave me a prescription for anti biotics which I never took as i got a second opinion was told the care am given should never be put near my face. I am sick of waking up every morning with these awful lumps on my Face feeling like there is nothing I can do. i debated at times buying a super sharp doe and syringe to drain them but I know I would mess face up. any help on an idea how to pop them or any treatment which will help clear them up would so so apprectiated I am loosing confidence constantly from them.
  11. This is my first post so have patience if I do things wrong. I am a 69 year old male and have had acne problems since I was a teenager. I have seen several dermatologists over the years, none have impressed me, none seemed very interested to be honest. had a course of Roaccutaine about 20 years ago which did work but as soon as the treatment stopped the acne returned. My GP put me on Ant-biotics (Oxytetracycline) which kept me reasonably clear for about 15 years before the Ant-bionics just stopped working. Since then I have just used Acnecide (Benzoyl Peroxide) which has done a reasonable job for about the last 5 years. Recently I decided to grow a beard (big mistake) which made it difficult to use the cream. I have had a massive Acne breakout on my chin / nose and even after shaving off the beard the Acnecide does not appear to have any effect. I have had the breakout about 3 weeks and it seems to be getting worse. To add more complication I have been on Testosterone Replacement Therapy for the last few years which has certainly made the acne worse. I am at a loss now to know what I can do. I don't want to be dramatic but my chin feels almost as thought its alive - large cist type acni that hurt and itch as well as white heads. I am adding a picture and would be grateful for any comments / thoughts about what I should try. Thanks in advance.
  12. I have been on the regimen since March 11th and I'm confused because initially I had bad breakouts on my cheeks. That cleared up very well with the treatment in the first month then I began using AHA+ on April 11th. I loved the results I saw from the AHA as well, but Around April 17th I noticed tiny bumps popping up on only 1 side of my nose and they progressed to both sides and actual nose as the weeks went by. I wasn't sure what was causing it and thought maybe I wasn't cleaning well enough since it was only 1 side at first, but I just stopped using the AHA+ this month (June) just to see if it was the cause. This isn't an area where I normally breakout so I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone else experienced these same bumps around their nose area? What should I do? I'm so self conscious, my birthday is this month and I just want them gone! Early April (Right before breakouts started) The Breakout (Last week, but they are still coming)
  13. Is this a broken capillary on my nose? Thanks for any help.
  14. Hi all! I've come here with a few questions for you and would love any and all input First off, my nose has been red for almost 8 years now (I'm 20) and I'd just like some opinions on it, I've had severe acne since about 13 and it's really taken its toll on my life, my confidence has always been awful, I've struggled to make meaningful relationships with all but a few people, and that's due to going to school with those people, I've recently moved to a new area and although some of my old friends are only a bus ride away, many of them are busy and/or at uni, so I HAVE to make new friends some how but I can't with the way I look and my awful confidence, and romantic relationships have been out of the question for years. Now my acne has cleared up a little (it was quite bad and has left me with quite a scared face) the only thing truly bothering me at the moment is my ridiculously red nose, not only is it huge (I'm not sure if it swollen or not) it's also red, and has been since 12 or 13, anyway if anyone has some suggestions I'd love to hear it (I've attached some photos by the way). The second is my post accutane results and what I'm to do next. I'm not exactly super happy with the results, these photos are just over a week after my last pill (40mg a day for 6 months), my dermatologist was very happy with the outcome but I'm not too thrilled, there's still plenty of redness everywhere and I even still have some deeply inbedded cysts on my left check and my nose, though I haven't had a white head in months which is quite nice. I also would like some information on what I'm to do about scaring, my dermatologist said there isn't much I can do on the NHS which really sucks because I don't have the money for private treatment. What, if anything, would you guys suggest I take as my next actions? Thank you all
  15. Hey everyone. I have had white spots on my face for about 5 years now, I think. When they first started I didn't think much of it, I think they were mainly on my chin, then some on the right side of my nose. The ones on my chin are basically what my face is now, I don't remember my face without them. And I tried for the longest time to not care about them. I've had acne before, not too crazy but stubborn acne. I've never played with them. Never popped them. I never tried to craft some home remedy I wasn't sure about. I just let them be. And I tried to do the same with these white spots for some years now. But It's getting worse and worse. When I squeeze my cheeks, or the place between my brows, or my chin with my hands, there appears even more of them, that I previously couldn'T without squeezing. I went to three dermatologists, one of them said it might e past acne scar, one of them said they might be fat glands, and the last one said he didn't know, and gave me "acnelyse" which sheds skin and "sivex" which is a protective lotion I believe. I'm going to include some old photos and the ones I just took with the phone's flashlight, zoomed in. This one is from June 2016. I know it's low res but the sun makes the spots better visible, as if they already werent. September 2016. Obvious raise in chin & right side of nose. October 2016. Low res again. Now for the photos I just took. Left side of my nose. Note that when my skin is stretched, these spots aren't visible, they don'T even leave a trace when I stretch the skin. they just dissappear. So it's not like acne where it would be more visible when you stretch the skin. Left side 2. My nose also has 3-4 bumps, one of them is very visible, right on the upper side of the mini mole on my nose. Squeezing my cheek. Left side acne & spots. Many on the chin also visible. Right side again. this is where it's worst. Left side photos look worse but right side is actually much much worse irl. Chin. Flash makes them look less by destroying the shadows but they're still visible. Last one, squeezing my chin. I'm a 21 yo male. I've tried the "acnelyse" the third derm gave me and it doesnt seem to do much. Maybe it's my mood bur they definitely feel worse on some days and better on some days. So maybe it's an allergy of some kind? I smoke but thse started long before I started smoking. Only thread I've found with almost the exact spot photos is this: www.acne.org/messageboard/topic/326959-raised-bumps-on-chinhypertrophic-scar/ Some users say they have the same thing but when I search their post history, I find photos that are nothing like mine. Mine have never been red, always whiter. They don't burn or itch, they're just there. They're not squeezable, they're like a part of the skin. My first phost here. I don't know if I've done something wrong. thanks in advance. If you're going to recommend a doctor, I live in Turkey.
  16. I've had hormonal acne on my chin and around nose but never on my nose. Ive done 2 rounds of accutane ro get rid of that and have been clear since. Ive recently been getting breakouts in my nose only, little clusters at a time. Is this acne or could it be something else? I should add that it can get itchy and feels a bit burning sometimes
  17. So I've had this annoying ass dark mark on my nose for a long time and it's exactly at the middle of it... I'm really annoyed about the fact it's not yet gone because it has been there since last year. i think I also have 2 small black heads on my nose which less bother me but I would like to know how to get a treatment for my mark and maybe my black heads. I've been told to use 'Fucidine' but I don't think it helps... Also I need help to confirm my mark is indeed an acne scar mark because I'm not a professional in this subject Here's a picture of my acne mark: Any help is appreciated!!! I heard something called benzoyl peroxide which might help but don't know if I should use it
  18. so I have like red bumpy skin around my nose, sometimes its better sometimes its really bad, but it just looks dry and horrible indeed help, these photos are when its not looking so bad, but sometimes it gets worse
  19. I don't know how many of you heard about the acne no more program(mike Walden). Is it a scam ? Please I want honest reviews about it.
  20. Yesterday out of pure stupidity and negligence i put 100% TCA on my nose thinking this solution isnt that strong (i didnt do research unfortunately) . Now my nose is looking like this. These are the pics taken at around 40 hrs mark after the TCA peel. Within 15 seconds of applying TCA i washed my face with baking soda water after realizing it was a mistake and then applied triple antibiotic cream. Where will this peel wound be after a month or two and what can i expect. I live in a remote area there are no dermatologists nearby. I had ordered 100% TCA via Amazon. I am really depressed now and also angry at myself.
  21. Guys, help , I've been getting pimples (this huge one) on the same spot over and over... Last time , I got it, it healed after awhile, and now its back again, I dont know why? How do I get rid of it?
  22. i've been battling moderate acne since high school, and from that, my nose and t-zone are very scarred with enlarged / dilated pores. until recently this wasn't that big of a deal, as i've gotten over the appearance of them over the years. however, in the last week two of the enlarged pores on my nose tip joined together to form a mega, deep pore, and it's been very distressing to the point that i haven't felt this low since my my early 20s when my face used to be horrible. what's even more distressing is that i'm afraid that the other pores will do the same, and join together, as i get older and they keep getting more dilated. the most demotivating is that i keep a very strict routine of oil cleansing + retin-a (every other night) / finacea + vitamin c + moisturizer + sunscreen. and it took me years to find a routine that doesn't break me out. i have an appointment with my primary doctor this week to get a rx for antidepressants and a referral to a derm. and i have asked beautifulambition for his opinion and he said fully ablative erbium, punch excision, needling, are all potential options. i've been spending the last several days researching the heck out of all of those options, and i'm not swayed by the results i've seen, in fact they're scarring me off and making me feel more discouraged. i wanted to post it here to get a few more opinions. i'm located in Vancouver so if anyone knows of acne scar specialists here i'm open. my search is only turning up a Dr. Moon Choi, who seems to be against ablative lasers (going by his website). i have family in LA, and can travel to Korea as well if there is an expert. i'm very depressed, especially given this area of the face is tricky. but please, any suggestions and opinions are welcome. please note i'm not looking to achieve perfect skin or even anything close, i just want to re-separate the pores, and prevent other pores from joining.. (in the picture below, the joined pore is the big one in the middle.)
  23. I dont know how to start, i feel like shit. I did a 6 month accutane course of 20 mg per day, i was really confused when my derm told me not to keep taking accutane because '' your face is great now, you dont need to keep taking these pills''. But i dont reached the accumulative dose. Now like a month without any pill my acne is coming back it started at my nose where i get 3 pimples in a night, today i woke up with a pimple forming on my cheek. Before starting accutane i was coming out of a depression and while i was on that fucking pills my depression comeback but i didnt told my derm, i also have body dismorphia so im always unhappy with my appearance. I feel so damn broken right now i just cant handle how i feel with myself, ive been strong for 6 months i just cant keep. I have some epiduo left so im aplying it at my pimples i dont know what can i do right now.
  24. So, i finished Accutane , i did 20 mg for 6 months and i finished my course like 1 month ago. My derm gave me 8% glycolic acid gel (its just glycolic acid , nothing more) and after aplying it like a week in my face , including my nose , i noticed some tiny red pimples forming on my nose. Its acne coming back? I have fear
