  1. i had a subcision many years ago with excellent results. However recently I had a few rounds of subcision around my smile line for a couple scars and it seemed to just make things worse. The area where the needle was inserted created a tethered area and itcaused additional wrinkles and crooked smile lines. It basically looked like the skin was stapled along the three points the doctor insterted the needle, causing a brand new fold/wrinkle. I tried to get it fixed, and went to a new doc, who suggested further subcision. This resulted in nodules and further tethering around the smile line. I saw the doctor again a month later, and he went ahead and subcised under the same nodule! He seemed to be wanting to promote more scar tissue (which I understand is a goal in some acne scar subcicions). It's been 2 months now, and nodules haven't gone down much. I know kenolog is the popular choice for nodules, but I'm worried it would make the wrinkes worse? I may be crazy but I'm thinking a subcision with a very fine needle might do the trick in terms of untethering all the scaring I've developed. The nodule isn't too high and is only noticeable because it stays in place when I smile. Anybody have any advice and experience on nodules and additional scar tethering caused by subcision? Kicking myself because the original acne scars were really not that significant. Edited to add pictures: the top arrow is a straight up needle hole/divot (no nodule, don't care about the hole, do care about the crescent wrinkle it creates), second arrow the nodule is about 1 month old, 3rd arrow is about 2 months old. The red marks in the first picture are holes from the insertion of the needle.

  3. Hi gang! My background: Lurker for close to 10 years, almost as long as I have had acne. I am a mid-20s college student raising a sibling. In other words, I have no time. I want to look presentable, though. This is why clearing my skin naturally is so important to me. I also don't wear makeup.. so it's magnifies the issue. I'm a hard INTJ, if you dig MBTI. That means I'm typically anxious and tense, which I'm sure is a big part of my acne. BCP (Yasmin) cleared my skin in my teens. Went off of it because of some of the possible side effects, then went on Spiro, which worked perfectly. However, I want to heal my body. I don't want to be on medication forever. Both my parents have adult acne, so I could be looking at hard cysts on my face with other inflamed red rolling hills until I hit menopause. I was going to do Accutane, but stopped when I realized I would have to go back on Yasmin (i.e. my skin would be perfect on yasmin so I doubt the accutane would cure me.) I am using the Neutrogena light therapy mask right now. It is helping but I doubt it will help as much as I need. I eat a diet of chicken, vegetables, and glucomannan/oat fiber (non-soluble fibers that fill you up and pass right through.) I have always had chronic constipation, so I take Miralax. When I don't take it, the inflammation gets worse. I have noticed that if I eat a ton of vegetables, my skin can get inflamed. This worries me. When I don't eat, or eat tiny portions to keep myself from starving, acne is reduced. But how can I sustain that? It doesn't seem possible. I know tanning and sweating/working out have helped in the past, but on this diet I have no energy to work out. I am scared of how hungry it would make me. No, not anorexic. I'm 5'6 and ~140. If you have read this far, my heartfelt thanks. I am so grateful for this community. Acne is such a difficult disease to deal with in the modern world-the shame, I mean. MY QUESTION: Is there anything else I can do for my acne naturally? Should I just suck it up and go back on Spiro?
  4. Guys I have no clue what type of pimple I have on my face, I will enclose a pic. But it just won’t go away. It’s been six weeks. Does anyone have any ideas of what it could be? I don’t suffer with acne that’s what makes this so strange. I have slept with activated charcoal and mud masks on it, use spot treatment, toothpaste the works. Nothing is working. I don’t have a dermatologist cos I didn’t ever need one. Someone pls help me it’s making me so self conscious
  5. So 1.5 months ago I got the biggest blind pimple I have ever gotten in my entire life after using Paula's Choice 2% BHA for the first time. It never got a head, I never touched it, and started reducing in size but left a raised bump. So this bump (which became light purple) lingered in size until 5 days ago when it became inflamed again. So obviously there was still pus left in it beforehand. This time round I tried to lightly pop it despite it having no obvious head - yet it popped easily *hooray*! A small amount of pus came out and it scabbed over. Now the bad news: the scab has just fallen off this evening on its own accord BUT THE BUMP IS STILL THERE!? Please someone help me. I'm desperate. I've just gone and lanced it out of sheer rage and got nothing out of it. No topical is touching it - not BP, not SA, not HP, not witch hazel. Just ordered Mario Badescu's buffering lotion as well out of sheer desperation and have a hydrocolloid patch for cold sores sat on it right now. Please gosh tell me there will probably still be some pus left in it, am I right? And please somebody tell me this doesn't sound like a dermatologist job because I'm in the UK, I can't get to my GP until September, I have no walk-in health centre in my backwards town, and private dermatologists are expensive and it seems so petty to pay +/-£500 for one bump when my acne is basically no more. But seriously, I'm vain enough to pay that right now... Here is a photo. Not the best, I know, because it's dark red from the scab falling off and it's only very slightly raised.
  6. Hey everyone, So I have been on the Pill (Gedarel 20 to be precise, it's a fairly new pill and a low dose oestrogen one) for about 8 months now. I started taking it merely because my last pill gave me bad side effects, so my doctor never prescribed per se for my acne. However, miraculously, after the first day of taking it my skin was clearing! A week later I had no new pimples! However, fast forward to about 2 months ago and I started getting papules on my cheeks (just about one a week max), they never bothered me at first but then recently they became frequent - like one a day frequent. And today, I have the first nodule in 8 months. I am a relatively healthy person: I eat healthy, hardly any junk food, I drink 2+ litres of water a day, I take vit E, D and zinc supplements, I exercise every day, and I try not to pick unless they're blackheads. I also don't have PCOS. Do any 'science-y' people know what is going on internally in me?? How can I go from crystal clear to pimpley again despite always taking the pill religiously and never skipping? Even though I am on hormones are my hormones still out of whack? Basically, I am due at the dermatologist in the beginning of July after waiting SINCE AUGUST LAST YEAR (I'm in the UK so it's the NHS). I am scared they will reject me for roaccutane because this pill has clearly improved my skin and if they accept me for it, I am scared I have some hormonal issue which will mess with the effectiveness of roaccutane. Thanks in advance, and here's a photo of the blinder growing on my cheek...
  7. Hi guys, I'm in agony here! I got a massive cyst on my face more than 3 months ago. My dermatologist said it was too hard to drain and gave me a cortisone injection. It went down for about month, then came back and even spread a little. After a lot of home remedies and heat packing (none or which worked) I ended up going to get it surgically drained. The dermatologist made a small incision, squeezed it a lot, dug around with a scalpel and put a bandage on it. While she was able to get a lot out, it was still swollen afterwards. That never got better, so now two weeks later I have basically a red-purple cyst on my face that is just 30% smaller. I can't even see the incision anymore. I'm not sure if I should try to get it surgically drained a second time or not. I'm just wondering what went wrong with the surgery and if anyone else has had this happen? She didn't irrigate the site, or give me any antibiotics to take afterwards, as I'm on a low-dose doxycycline (40mg) all the time. If you've had a cyst drained, did the surgeon rinse it out and did you have to take a course of antibiotics afterwards? I want to make sure I do it right this time so my face isn't scarred too badly! Thanks!
  8. Hi guys, I had a massive cyst on my face that a dermatologist incised and drained 5 days ago. I've never had this done before, so didn't really know what to expect. I'm worried because it's still quite swollen. It was the size of a quarter and is now the size of a dime. How long do these things usually take to fully heal? I'm concerned that maybe she didn't clean it out well enough or maybe it needed to drain more but healed too quickly (I couldn't even see the incision by the next day.) Has anyone had to get a cyst re-incised just days later? I just want a lump-free face for a while! I'd love any input on this. Thanks!
  9. Hi guys, I'm hoping some of you might have advice on what I should do! I've had cystic acne and rosacea for a number of years, but it's mostly around my mouth, so not that severe. Two+ months ago I got a huge, swollen lump between my mouth and jaw, which was so much worse than any spot I'd had before. I went to my dermatologist who said it was just acne, but that it was too hard to try to surgically drain. He gave me a cortisone injection (first time I've had one!) and it went down by at least 50%. Since then, I've just been waiting for it to magically disappear. Two weeks ago it got swollen again, and it looks terrible. It's about 3/4" in diameter and red. It's much softer and more painful this time, so maybe it could be cut out, but I'd prefer to try something less invasive first. Has anyone had a cortisone shot fail like that, or had to get a second one months later? I don't want to overdo it since they can cause craters. Any suggestions on how to draw it up or get it to heal? I've been heat packing it, but nothing is really happening yet. I'm also taking zinc, fish oils, and using topical niacin. Many thanks!! Here it is: *shudder*
  10. Hi gals i need help! I have this bump under my skin it doesnt have a head but it left this brownish mark. I had a similar one last time that i popped and all the gunk spewed out and flattened, but i tried to pop this one that i have right now and nothing came out. Worse still, i think i became bigger and more swollen:( what should i do guys? Im not sure whether its a cyst or nodule or papule but it cannot be seen on the surface except that it has a brown mark and can be felt when i touch it. It is near my cheekbone too... should i get a cortisone shot? It has been here for a week. I really wanna see my derm but it is so hard to book an appointment and im desperate
  11. Hi all, So for the past year or so I've been getting this stubborn pustular acne that doesn't respond to Benzoyl Peroxide very well. Ever since I started getting it, I've been applying Dan's BP generously at night, but so far I have never really succeeded at being 100% clear. The acne is extremely painful / tender, and rapidly develops into a pus-filled head. The head either dries up, or bursts (oftentimes I've been squeezing these pimples myself, because it's unprofessional to walk around with pus oozing from my face). However, when these pimples burst, they spout a lot of blood, and leave a crater-like wound - which isn't fun either. Also, if I don't squeeze really hard and get the hard "core" of the pimple out, they tend to re-form. The really bad ones tend to form around the mouth / beard region (where the hair follicles are). When they appear, I nuke them with BP. This doesn't make them get any smaller - if anything, it just makes them bigger - but it helps peel the skin and make the pimples surface faster. Because of this, I feel like the bacteria involved is not p.acnes, but something else. The one thing that seemed to help me, back in September, was dicloxacillin. It had been prescribed to me by a nurse practitioner, since I didn't have insurance at the time and had to go to a RediClinic. I was only on it for a week, but it basically stopped all my breakouts in their tracks. Shortly after the week ended, I began breaking out again. Around that time I also started using antibacterial soap (triclosan) to wash, and have been using it - without avail - until recently. Recently (last Wednesday), I picked up some Hibiclens and have been using that to wash morning and night instead of the antibacterial soap. I lather it into my skin, leave it on for a while (until it dries basically), and then wash it off. After that, I apply moisturizer (if it's morning) or Dan's BP (if it's nighttime). So far, there hasn't been a crazy amount of change. I thought I was headed in a good direction up until today, since my existing pimples had continued to dry up and I hadn't gotten any terrible new breakouts. Today, however, an older one that I thought had disappeared suddenly because re-inflamed and painful. Also, I've had a crop of new, painful ones appear to the right of my beard. I'll continue with the Hibiclens but I'm really getting tired of this. As soon as my new insurance information comes, I'm going to schedule an appointment with a GP and try to get a culture test or something. These things are really unsightly and unprofessional.
  12. Week 1

Today is my first full week of Spiro, 50mg/day with one 25mg supplement at 8:30 AM and another at 1 PM with lunch. I read here that dividing the doses with breakfast and lunch is best...anyone else agree this has worked well for them? I am sorry I am too embarrassed to take pics, but if I did it would probably really throw me into an emotional tailspin. OIL The overall oil decrease in one week is incredible. My scalp is not dry, but not so oily that I have to wash every other day. The oil on my nose has decreased tons...there used to be tiny pinprick dots of oil from my nose less than an hour after washing up or showering. Same with my forehead. Not anymore. It's not totally dry but it's improved a lot! I have noticed my face is stinging a bit from being dry, but I am struggling to find a moisturizer. ACNE I'm getting some new spots. But they're resolving much faster than they would have if I hadn't been on Spiro. I developed 2 under the skin bumps [nodules?] on my chin a few days after I began taking it. But I tend to get those anyway, so I am not sure if it's Spiro's fault, though I am worried since some said this drug made their acne worse before it got better. It may also have formed because I didn't wash my face at all the other day other than using warm water. Right now I'm using Simple's foaming cleanser since I have a lot of product allergies. HAIR I'm expecting hair growth to decrease much later down the road. I'll be so glad, too. It's quite embarrassing having excess coarse hairs on your chin. I tend to get a couple on my right cheek, too. They're TINY but I now they're there, and it's upsetting. ETC. I'm still having a ton of anxiety about my face. Up until like 2 months ago, it was never this bad. I am very worried I'll need to take Accutane at some point because I already have some joint issues, but I'm not sure what else to do if Spiro and possibly Yaz/OTC do not end up working. I'm trying to be patient and ride this out, I appreciate any support.
  13. For about three years now I have been struggling with acne. In the first year, I tried many different birth controls, OTC products, and topicals prescribed by my GP. Over the years it has gotten progressively worse. In the last 6 months or so it has become extremely severe and I feel like I have tried every product on the earth, with the exception of accutane. For the record, I was on a waitlist to see a dermatologist for a very long time and finally got an appointment, which won't be until the end of October. I'm currently using Biacna topical gel (a mix of clindomyacin, phosphate, and tretinoin). For the first three months, it seemed to be working. I had the initial breakout that my doctor told me about, followed by tons of dryness and (almost) clear skin for a few weeks, then another terrible breakout followed by more dryness around the six week mark. At this point, I thought I had FINALLY found something that worked, but as I continued to use it, my skin stopped reacting to it. I have been on it for exactly three months now and somedays it seems like it's working an others it does not. I have noticed that my hormones are a contributing factor, but birth control is something that I would like to avoid as I am bipolar and the pill seems to induce my mood swings. In the last six months or so, my acne has gone from being what I thought was 'severe' - many pimples that quickly turn into whiteheads quickly, filled with a hard puss centre and leave hardly any scarring, to what I'm now sure is sever as it gets. Mainly in my cheek area, I have many many pimples that are extremely painful and deeply embedded in the skin. They take a few weeks to reach the surface, and then they are LARGE and filled with tons of puss. They will take another week to pop once they have surfaced and when they finally do, it is extremely painful (feels like the whitehead is ripping through layers and layers of my skin, almost to the point where they make a noise when they are popped). The puss that comes out of them is a yellow-ish liquid that is more runny than any whitehead I have had before. When they are popped, the puss burst through my skin and often shoots out really far (sorry for the details but I'm hoping it helps narrow it down). If it remains on the skin after it's popped and I wipe it up with a q-tip, I can see 7 or 8 little individual white heads surrounded by the yellow-ish puss. It also leaves behind what looks like a another pimple filed with blood. It seems like the blood should be able to be squeezed out but again it is extremely painful and almost cyst-like, dark purple/deep red in colour. If anyone has any idea what type of acne this is or has any treatment advice I would be so so appreciative. Not only are they very painful and embarrassing, but they are leaving behind scars (more discolouration than pitted marks) and taking a toll on me emotionally. Thanks in advance!
  14. Nodule / Cyst Keep Coming Back

Hey guys! So while my skin is primarily clear (thanks to the no dairy diet), I occasionally get a big, red, painful nodule / cyst on my chin if I slip up and eat dairy. I have one spot in particular that I got a cortisone injection in about 3 months ago that went away with the injection. It then came back about a month later, then came to a head and was drained. Then it just returned, in the same exact spot, yesterday. I'm very concerned right now because it keeps coming and going in the spot and there is already a pit and scarring from previous occasions. My question is: is this normal? Is my only option to get another cortisone shot? I'm thinking about trying a drawing salve, but I'm not sure if that only works for cysts (I think mine is a nodule and won't come to a head.) Please let me know what you think! Any input in healpful.
  15. What could this bump be?

So for about 6 months I've had a small white bump on my back that matched my skin and it would get smaller when I moisturized it. Within the last day it became dark pink reddish and is bigger. it isnt huge, but yea. When I pull the skin it appears to have white inside it. I do not believe it is acne, but I don't know. I'm hoping it isn't a cyst as in a non acne cyst that has to be surgically removed. It is smooth. I have been off accutane for 6 months. I used to get acne on my back and some cystic or nodule but this one looked like keratosis pilaris before it became more inflamed looking. I don't know how to treat it. It can't be popped with a needle. It itches too. It doesn't hurt though.
  16. I'm here at the end of the SIX MONTHS OF MY JOURNEY!! Wow!! I'm so proud to finally be finished! It was a long journey but I'm finally FINALLY done.now here comes the story, along with side effects, what I used, and everything in between. I am sure it will help those looking forward to it and those with severe nodul acne as myself. ive had acne since intermediate school. (Right after elementary) it got progressively worse, and the fact my mom taught me how to pop pimples only made it worse. Anyways, I eventually learned decent hygiene, but it still seemed to be getting worse and worse! I didn't know what was going on. The pimples were getting bigger, producing in the same area in clusters. It started on my forehead, then my cheeks, and then down to my jawline which you will see in the pictures. It hurt when I lay my head on the pillow, and waking up to find blood on the pillow. The feeling of itchiness during the day, and randomly bleeding throughout the day also. During my highschool life I LITERALLY. TRIED. EVERYTHING. Dieting, exercise, every acne drug store brand (including proactive), derm prescribed topical treatments (retinal and plenty others), antibiotics, birth control, you name it. Washed, acne creams, moisturizer morning and night, blotting pads, and it never got better. I finally gave up and two years later I got a job at a skincare company called Origins. I was so embarrassed of my skin, I went to a new derm. She had almost a thousand five star reviews and I thought why not. I made sure to write a list of what i used before I went to my appointment. When she took a look at my list and my skin, she said I was going on Accutane. She described it as a cure for acne. I was just like ??? Why wasn't I told this before?? She said derms seem to don't like to prescribe it because of risks and side effects but explained it all for me in a calm manner. I obviously thought it was all worth it. I signed the papers and started it. 80mg per day. Im around 200 pounds (female) and 5'6''. My weight has nothing to do with my acne also because i lost a great deal of weight and nothing changed. (and it started when i was little). Within the first month I already noticed a great reduction in the swelling of my face and pimples. 3 months in and I could barely take the bone pain. I couldn't even walk in the morning. I would limp everywhere and couldn't stand for a long period of time at work. I also developed hard stool which caused hemorrhoids that lasted for two months. It was my fault for waiting to treat it though. It took two packs of capsules to heal. Also my anxiety levels went through the roof. I have an old background of severe anxiety which I suppressed with meds and therapy, and when it came back I was so scared!! I was having panic attacks and could barely function. I told my doctor of all this and for the last three months I was lowered to 70mg then 60mg. No more bone pain, hard stool, and anxiety. I felt so free. The acne was gone by month 3 or 4 completely and my scars were healing so fast too! I did get a cluster of little non-acne bumps on my face on month 4 but my derm thought it was just exzema related. Also the basic side effects like dry lips and skin. I used to have really oily skin too and now its dry/normal. Now that I am done, i have developed a rash on the back of boths of my hands that DONT itch but hurt. My doctor explained it was an exzema flare up from the medicine and prescribed a topical steroid. Its going away super quick. All in all, it sounds crazy and scary, but was SOOOO SOOO SOOOOOOOO worth it. My confidence improved VASTLY, the pain i endured on my face and self confidence for YEARS went away, and i dont feel like an ugly monster anymore, and it also doesnt hurt when family kiss my cheeks. All of my side effects were treatable, and not scary in the least (except the anxiety, but that was treatable too). I just CANT believe this worked. years and years ive dealt with this.... it feels like a miracle. Now onto the products i used. Face: origins face cleansing oil (for dry skin) or frothy face wash (very basic) M.A.D. cream (for really dry skin) Aquaphor for my lips (otherwise they would crack) and drank lots of water. As for the blood tests, everything was normal throughout my treatment, my lipids were a little high but my derm told me it was completely normal for people on accutane and wouldnt hurt me at all. She said my liver was just fine. Also I asked her if i could drink alcohol- she said yes but as long as im not abusing it. I drank and my tests were just fine. I cant really think of anything else to say about my journey, but that IT WAS AMAZING!!! Im so excited to start my life now.
  17. Hello all, I wanted to share a few pictures that I had taken yesterday of both sides and the back of my neck. I have always had bad skin, I had the usual teenage acne on my face which slowly disappeared around my 18th birthday. However now 21 years old, I have a persistent case of cyctic/nodule acne which appears only on my neck! Which is a blessing and a curse at the same time, I am grateful that it is not on my face. My GP has given me a couple of different antibiotics over the years, mainly fairly tame ones, which I feel are not doing the trick. I feel my GP is not happy to move me onto anything like accutane or anything of that strength. It has come to the point now where the acne is really affecting me. The larger cystic/nodules will bleed once they reach a large size and will weep blood/puss for a good hour or so, not ideal when I am wearing a white shirt at work ... Not to mention the decreased movement in my neck when I have 3 or 4 the size of marbles hanging off my neck. Has anyone got this type of acne? Especially just restricted to the neck? Should I seek a dermatologist? Should I beg my GP for accutane level antibiotics? Many thanks for reading, J.
  18. I'm a 23 year old male and I've been dealing with moderate(sometimes close to sever) nodular and cystic acne since I was 15. My acne was at its worst when I was was 16/17 in high school. I now have acne scars left on my face due to the severe acne that I had back in high school. My acne isn't as severe as back in high school anymore but I think that's partly because I've learnt to take care of my skin better. Here's the picture of my skin(it can get a lot worse than this): My severity of Acne has: lowered my self-esteem made me avoid social interaction(I literally have zero friends right now) made me skip work and school countless times got bullied at school because of my acne resulted me in taking too many vitamin A pills and having pain in my liver when I was desperate in getting rid of severe acne and trying everything over the counter(herbal supplement, vitamins etc.) when I was as a teenager. I think Acne.org didn't exist back then This is what I'm currently doing to prevent my acne: Wash the face with Proactiv/The Regimen cleanser, Remove the dry flaky skin caused by BP 2.5% using Proactiv Toner and then apply The Regimen's 2.5% BP twice a day not touching my acne/nodule/cysts or any part of my face not letting anything dirty touch my face or neck (e.g. keeping my hair short) not letting my pores stay clogged for too long with sweat or oil not exercising. Either the sweat or wiping my face with a towel gives me cystic acne the next day cover the pillow with a clean towel before bed and sleeping on my back eating vegetable soup which I cook by boiling Red bell pepper, tomatoes, carrots, broccolis, baby spinach/kale, onions, mushrooms and chicken breast every night supplements (Vitamin D3, Fish oil, Probiotic and occasional multivitamin) avoiding dairy, wheat and junk food not drinking excessive coffee If I don't follow the steps especially from 1 to 6, I get a acne under the skin, nodule or a cyst straight away. I only get acne on my cheeks and neck. Acne is affecting my life in so many different ways. For example, I never travel with my family anymore because I won't be able to follow my acne prevention routine. I often get bad acne within days after exercising at the gym. I'm not sure if the acne is caused from the sweat or from the towel but I'm always scared of going to the gym because of it. Recently, my acne has become out of control because we had to move to a different rent after our landlord went bankrupt so my life has been hectic and I didn't have time to wash my face twice a day. While cleaning the house, my face was itchy and I accidentally scratched my cheek. The next day I developed a pustule acne on that spot. What baffles me is that my acne wasn't that bad 2 years ago, but for some reason it's getting worse again. I really need to figure out how to prevent my acne permanently. Because every time I get a bad acne, I always skip school and work; sometimes for weeks until my acne doesn't look ugly on my face anymore. I know I shouldn't skip school and work but I just can't handle people staring at my acne or looking at me in a peculiar way. When I built courage and went to work with bad acne, the coworker immediately picked up on my acne and started teasing me.. I want to get a laser treatment for my acne scars someday but I don't think I'll ever be able to do it since my acne doesn't seem to be going away and I'm almost 24 years old. I don't know if the dermatologist is going put me on Accutane since my acne isn't extremely severe and I don't really want to go on it either because of the potential side effects. But I may have to since it looks like I'll never be able to grow out of acne. I know that you should never pop your cystic acne. But sometimes if I don't pop them, it gets bigger and more pustule and won't go away for months. So I sometimes pop them with a sterile needle and apply BP or Betadine on it. Sometimes my cystic acne heals faster this way but other times it becomes uglier, more inflamed and pustule all over again. So I'm planning on going to a dermatologist soon and ask for a prescription topical cream to experiment on my face. What prescription topical cream(s) should I ask for? Also, could you give me recommendations on how I can prevent my acne/nodules/cysts better than I am doing now? Thank you.
  19. Got cortisone injections for my cysts today. Sometimes my doctor seems to put the injection a little away from the nodule rather than directly in it? Anyone else have this experience? Will the injection still work?
  20. Hey guys. I signed up specifically to share this with you as I spent hours researching what was actually on my face. I had a cantankerous sore that started off as a fairly small pimple that I thought had popped on the inside. I left it alone for a while but could still feel a tiny bump underneath my skin, so stupidly I squeezed at it too early and it turned into a quarter sized sore I naturally thought was a cyst. Except this massive red lump was not behaving as a cyst. I tortured it with BP and sea salt. I noticed the inside if the 'cyst' would go white and of course I thought well, that's a lot of pus! And kept squeezing to try and get it out because it seemed so ripe. No luck, of course. So over the next few days I continued to apply sea salt, lemon + baking soda, BP, salycilic acid, and even one of those corn remover pads and finally a couple of warm compresses. Every time I would apply and remove something, I thought, fantastic, it seems to be draining! But it would keep coming back the same as before. Eventually I came across the term 'blanched skin' and realized Crap That's exactly what mine looks like. The white stuff I had thought was pus, was actually an area that was so under pressure, the blood had stopped traveling to the wound ! I have attached a photo of someone's foot with this phenomenon occurring. Yes, it's an insect bite, but this is what the wound looked like when wet.. So I kept searching, with the keywords "blanched wound" and eventually came across an ailment called "bed sores" or "pressure ulcers" Yes The stuff old people get when they lie in one place for too long. It comes in four stages, if you are curious, research it. It comes in four stages and I have been lucky enough to get sick of squeezing past stage 2, I have attached a picture of what I got on my face assuming it was a cyst I had mistreated badly. This is what the wound would look like fresh after the blanching subsided and eventually go crustier and a deeper red.. DISCLAIMER: I am not a doctor, or a health care practitioner in any way. But I do believe I have identified what the gaping hole in my face actually is, and I hope this information still helps. It may be wrong, and if anyone has any more jnfo or can refute this that would be greatly appreciated because these types of skin sores seem very difficult to treat and there is not much information online aside from a website I stumbled across that did suggest a salt water cleanse as it is important to dislodge dead cells from the wound for optimal healing.

  22. More Acne

Trying to figure out what I should do. It looks like I am getting two little bumps near my newest pimple and I'm just worried that they're going to get bigger. I don't know how to describe them, but they are raised bumps and almost look like they're just going to be tiny pimples that usually come to a head, but they never do. Can someone please help me? I honestly feel like I can't win. If these two pimples get bigger I don't know what I'm going to do.

  25. Hi, so until the beginning of this year, I've always had pretty manageable skin... Breakouts here and there whenever I was on my period or wasn't eating right, but most of the time, my skin was perfectly fine and I barely wore makeup. However, all of a sudden in the span of about 2 weeks, my face erupted with a bunch of white heads and puss-filled nodules around my T-zone... in a matter of weeks, that spread all around my face, and cysts and nodules started popping up. It's been about 5+ months, and it still continues to erupt. I've tried Yaz - but it just made my face 10 times worse and made me go INSANE. I also could not breathe while on it. I'm currently on minocycline, and it is helping a little, but it definitely isn't clearing up much. I eat very healthy and exercise on a daily basis. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, and have no clue as to what I should do. Derm told me awhile ago the mlno should have cleared it up - it hasn't, obviously. From having perfectly clear skin to this, I don't know how to deal with it.
