  3. Tazorac + Doxy Log

Hi guys!! I'm an 18 year old trying to get rid of her acne once and for all I have suffered from acne since my freshman year of high school (mild to moderate). My acne was never really cystic - I had inflamed pimples and blackheads in my T-zone. Through trial and error over the years, I was finally able to clear my skin through using Retin A Micro 0.04% (RAM) at night, along with Aczone or Finacea in the morning (alternating each day). However, during the fall of last year, I began noticing closed comedones (whiteheads) on the sides of my chin. I began using the RAM in these areas. However, this did nothing, and my comedones worsened. They began to spread to the rest of my chin, on my upper lip, and in between my eyebrows. My nose, which has always had blackheads, became even more clogged. The worst part is that these comedones become inflamed zits and leave hyperpigmentation behind. I talked to my derm about this, and she upper my RAM to 0.1%. This did not help, even after 6+ months. She said that the next thing to try was Spiro, which I did not want to take. (I have, however, through my own research found that Paula's Choice AHA and BHA gels do help to reduce the clogs to some extent - see my routine below.) I recently switched derms. He is putting me on Doxycycline (75 mg) and Tazorac cream 0.05%. I am hoping that the Taz, being a stronger retinoid, will help to eradicate these comedones. I also think that my skin may be slightly resistant to the RAM, as I have used it for the past 5 years. Because retinoids have worked well in the past, I'm hoping that a different retinoid will shake things up and clear my pores. Here is a great link describing the differences between RAM and Taz: http://www.skinacea.com/retinoids/natural-vs-synthetic-retinoids.html#.UsjULODFXJw As of now, my skin consists of comedones on my chin, nose, between my eyebrows, and on my upper lip. My "problem area" is definitely my chin (esp the sides). I get the occasional random pimple, but for the most part, any inflammation comes from my comedones becoming infected. My current routine: AM Wash with Cera Ve hydrating cleanser Mix Paula's Choice BHA 2% gel with PC AHA 8% gel Cera Ve moisturizing lotion Aczone or Finacea (alternate) PM Cera Ve hydrating cleanser Taz 0.05% cream Cera Ve lotion *Take 75 mg Doxy with dinner I will be documenting my progress on both Taz and Doxy - partially for myself, partially because I have been lurking on other people's logs for a long time and find them extremely helpful. Please comment with questions, support, or advice Other Links: Facial Masks I Recommend:
  4. Evening ! I'm 17 and I have decent skin, but I've always been subject to mild Comedonal Acne mostly on my T-Zone and around my mouth. I very much dislike the texture of my forehead, especially in harsh/artificially lighting. I know these are whiteheads (colourless bumps with whiteish substance when squeezed - shouldn't squeeze !!) and the cause of such spots is due to an excess in sebum and oils under the skin, so are very difficult to get rid of and never seem to leave ! Here is a list of my current products which I switched to last week: Nip + Fab Glycolic Cleanser Nip + Fab Glycolic Scrub (with Salicylic Acid) Nivea Essentials Night Moisturiser Witch Hazel Pure Tea Tree Oil 5% Benzoyl Peroxide (Acnecide) I drink 1.5L water a day, sleep 7 hrs and eat plenty of fruits and veggies. where am I going wrong (diet?) and when can I expect to see improvements ?
  5. Hi guys, my skin was clearing up, and now im literally a pimple face, I'm embarssssed to go out in public natural, I can't even look at my self, and it's at the point where I don't even want my parents or siblings to see me without makeup, yes it's that bad, and I can't see a dermatologist, don't ask why, but I have been growing these whiteheads that turn into cystic all over my face, it won't stop, and I've tried popping them and they turn into open wounds, and they just regrow all over no matter what I do, anyone know what it is? And I don't pop all of them but when I do, they stay there, hey not go away, be tried so many creams, antibiotics, face wash/mask, or even nothing to see what my skin needs and It just won't stop, it's so embarsssing I want to cry. eVeryone in family has perfect clean skin, for when they see mine, everyone comments on it, literally feel like trash, I'm already ugly and now acne is added to it, everyone I know has glowy perfect skin without makeup, except me, nothin works no me, itjust gets worse, if u knowwhat it is, please tell me, help Bc I've been so depressed. 6. ACNE + YAZ birth control pill

Hi everyone! I am a 18 year old girl and I began taking YAZ two months ago (July 2017) for my very irregular periods. I did have mild/moderate acne on my forehead (sometimes a few on my chin and around my nose) but my intention on taking this pill, was to regulate my periods, and not for my acne. Since I was told YAZ could clear up acne, i guess that was a bonus for me. Before taking the pill, I would have my period every 2 weeks which would last for a week. My mother who is in fact a gynaecologist, decided to put me on YAZ for 3 months (3 packs of YAZ pill), to regulate my periods. To sum up my current 2 months experience on YAZ, I'm just gonna say, its been an unpleasant journey for me. My cheeks before going onto the pill, were almost clear and smooth. I did have one or two tiny, non-inflamed pimples, more like blocked pores because i used to wear a lot of make-up, but my acne back then was mild/moderate and it didn't really bother me. As soon as i started YAZ, already hearing loads of stories from other acne sufferers that YAZ had cleared up their skin, I was excited and optimistic. I was excited that my periods were finally gonna be regular and my acne will clear up! but no, i was wrong.. *Before i continue, i want to inform you guys that i stopped wearing make-up, drank loads of water (1.5L or more sometimes per day), i also drank a small teapot of green tea almost everyday, i tried to cut out dairy and began eating healthily (however i did have some cheat days once in a while), I also did change my skincare routine; during my time on YAZ. FIRST PACKET ON YAZ: I began noticing that a quite number of tiny bumps began to appear on my cheeks. I started freaking out a bit since i never broke out on those areas.. They weren't cystic acne, they were non-inflamed, and just tiny bumps, but they looked obvious under certain lighting. I already had acne on my forehead so it was no surprise to me that i would get a few whiteheads on that area. Good news though! My period became regular and came after a month from my last cycle. They were also very light and lasted for 4 days which i generally liked too. SECOND PACKET ON YAZ: My acne became worse. It seemed as if those tiny bumps had spread and multiplied! I didn't have cystic acne, but i had tons and tons of tiny, tiny bumps all over my cheeks, jawline, chin and forehead! My face was basically covered with these tiny, non-inflamed bumps, excluding my cheek bones, the back of my jawline and my nose. My self-esteem began to go down the drain and i became pretty depressed. I couldn't stop stressing over my acne! Every night (literally) i would be on the internet, searching for other peoples experiences on YAZ. After endless of researching, i decided to think whether i was going through an initial breakout, since my the hormones are maybe all over the place. One day, I had to take a medical test which included a blood test (for university purposes). Since i was taking a blood test, i might as well test if my hormones are balanced and all. My results came out, Im glad to say that I am perfectly healthy and nothing was wrong with my hormones.. hmm alright then? Again one day, i became really depressed and i really wanted to go and see a dermatologist. My dermatologist told me, i was suffering from comedonal acne and that he could get rid of my acne in 3 weeks!!! But i had to go through acne extractions, red and blue light therapy every week or so, silk peels, chemical peels and he wanted me to change my BC pill to Diane-35 since he said it would be more effective for my acne. However, my mum was against the idea. If i were to change my BC pill, i was afraid if it would mess up my hormones even more, and that was the last thing i wanted. My mum was also against the idea of all the other things he suggested because i did go through it during my time in high school, but it never really helped, so i didn't really want to waste my mum's money. In the end, my mum told me to persevere. On a side note, i began using DERMALOGICA Gentle cream exfoliant which contains AHA and BHA twice a week, cause i read it was good on getting rid of comedonal acne. Also, my period is still regular and had no problems. I just had sore and tender breasts and very mild cramps for over a week before getting my period. THIRD PACKET ON YAZ: Today marks 2 whole months and few days of me on YAZ. I am on my 3rd packet (which is also my last packet) and on the 2nd row. However, i feel like my acne is getting worse. Even my mum pointed it out.. When i started my third packet, i had my first cystic pimple on my left cheek. It lasted for a week. Today, that cystic pimple has gone, and leaves some hyper-pigmentation, but thank god no indented scars. HOWEVER now, I have one new cystic pimple above the previous one, two painful ones along my jawline near my chin and one near my hairline on my forehead... The comedonal acne are still non-inflamed but they have become more obvious and slightly red. Im really afraid if i do get scars from it too. However i do feel like it feels more smooth, whenever i run my hand over the comedonal acne. ANYWAY, that's my 2 month journey for now on YAZ and i will be stopping it after completing my 3rd pack. I'm actually happy that i will be stopping because i don't like the idea of taking this drug and messing with my natural body hormones. However now i am getting more stressed out, because i've heard many stories of people coming off the pill and breaking out more than ever. I will be starting university/dental school in a few days time, so my life will be pretty much stressful and hectic with all the workload. However, i've decided that i will leave some time to de-stress like going for a run or maybe working out, which should be good for me. I'm just afraid if my acne will get worse once i stop going on the pill. Thank you for taking your time, to read this incredibly long post. It would be highly appreciated if you could reply back with what i should do to prevent my acne from getting worse.
  7. I've tried: - OCM (coconut/olive/avocado/some kind of mixture + castor oil) - Lush products: Mask of magnaminty, Coalface, Angels on bare skin - water only - Madara AHA scrub - some oily skin products - aloe vera gel - tea tree oil - Nizoral - face brush - honey & cinnamon face mask (- using some Finnish moisturizers as well) Also: I'm trying to avoid dairy, sugar and meat on my diet. So, what should I do? Edit: My skin is oily but still dry and sensitive. I have tried so many products and methods in recent years, but those bumpy, tiny pimples are still there. My problem areas are forehead and chin. Can anyone help me?
  8. I used to have clear skin and since a almost a year I started having acne and it has seriously ruined my life. I've become so so so depressed, i have no interest in anything any more. Also, no one seems to really care. Please tell me what should i do. i always have 2-3 pimples on my face esp on the right side. My derma gave me two antibiotics, doxy and erythromycin do they help with papules? Should I go on accutane for mild acne? Please reply.
  9. Hey guys. I'm new here. Anyways, as most of you-- I basically tried EVERYTHING there is to offer in the market but nothing ever worked for me. Ever since I was 10 (which was when I first started having my periods and now I'm 19 nearly 20), I was already experiencing acne breakouts. My mom would send me to the best dermatologist every Saturday in my city 'til I was 13. Constant extraction from the doc. Constant shit on my face and it would never ever stop! So my dermatologist then suggested Accutane when I was 14 since my acne was on and off and if it was on, it would just be unbearable. For the whole 6 month period on accutane, my face and lips went dry, it went worse before it got better and well, alcohol will never be your best friend since you'll get easily drunk (It wasn't wise i know since accutane is a strong drug and you gotta be extra careful with your liver). Anyways, accutane DID help but only for a maximum of 2 months then my acne got bad again like shitface bad. I got depressed and so on, who wouldn't? My dermatologist even wondered why it went back.. My brother was on accutane too but never resurfaced. Then she just continued doing the norm and extract to the point that even her products which were clindamycin toner, some basic orange color cleanser, night cream and sun cream gave up on me too. So I went online and researched what would help me because of desperation. I tried masks from oatmeal, white eggs, coffee, and allll those shit. Coconut oil-- I regret you. So from the age 15 'til this day, I've been on constant search. AcneFree facial cleanser & their sulfur mask helped me out, the only problem was, it's not in my country and shipping and everything else is really expensive. I opted for Neutrogena since my lil brainyhead at 15 thought it would be the same since its orange liquid cleanser too but nope! Neutrogena just broke me out badly. I wanted to give my life up. My teacher, who claimed to have the same bad skin few years ago, told me to go into this facial center because its what helped her out. I remember my dermatologist telling me that if you have acne, don't do facials but hey, I was desperate-- blahblahblah. Few sessions past, like probably 3 sessions if i remember quite well, no kidding... my skin was soo clear like no mark of any acne from the past. Everyone was shocked on how the hell it happened and so on.. which is what I regret now. With all those facial acne peels and stuff they placed, it left the skin of my face more sensitive and thinner (as what other facials say).. So I became more prone to acne than ever and more prone to sensitivity of products used. Sooo as you guessed it-- IT BROKE ME OUT MORE 3 months later and more worse!!! So I stopped getting peels from them and all those crazy facials and decided to live with my acne and try not to care..... I lost hope. So I was just sticking to honey facial cleanser, the facials toner, and a simple moisturizer. When I turned 17, I went to a different facial center, had collagen pimple extraction thing and blah. It was okay. It did help but I had this thought of, no matter of how many times people try to extract my zits, it always learns to come back and even worse at some point. Why don't I just stop this and let it be... which I did. Then I met some chemists which are now my friends... NOTE: Don't use raw honey as your cleanser/mask. I learned that it just does more harm than good in your skin. If using honey, use the ones intended for your face or formulated by derms and such. If you wonder why, I can just explain it if you'll ask. tehee. Anyways, still nothing worked so I went on birth control. Took a lot of hiding. I was switching on 3 different birth controls for the past 2 years. Some were okay, some were neutral. I even ended Vegan for like 4 months because my boyfriend that time was blaming some breakouts that occur from "bad diet". I mean, it was partly a factor but me turning vegan for 4 months, didn't really do much for me. I couldn't handle being in birth control for a long time, it scares me. To the fact that, when I get off it, I'd get superrrr bad breakouts, and if I'm on it, I'm easily hot tempered. I hate it. If there was another way to help my acne, I'd grab it than use birth control! So at this point, I was using honey cleanser, ACV toner, benzoyl peroxide 5% and tea tree oil. At 19, I stopped birth control completely. My skin was "okay" but still bad so I gave Korean skincare a go. 'Til this day, I still use it but not too exagge, just the simple things because it was already a huge hole in my wallet to switch to this skincare and the things I'm still using now are VERY VERY much of a holy grail for me. I can't deny, some of these "famous" Korean stuff broke me out so badly that I went to step 1 of acne depression real quick AGAIN but this time it was much more worse to the point I'd be too much ashamed to go out of my room. I'd even wear surgical face mask to school and everyone would wonder why I'm wearing one. I just tell them I'm sick as an excuse. Not 'til my cousin introduced me to the glutathione. I've heard about this for yeaaaaaaaaaars now but only knew about it as a thing actresses and actors use to get that lighter skn color. I'm I'm taking it as a glutathione push instead of oral since taking it orally takes forever because it goes through your digestive while push/IV goes to your veins and blood and gets consumed 100% right away. It was my second session yesterday.. Glutathione+Vitamin C+Placenta. The first session made my skin purge, the second session made my skin softer and glowing and my acne is super duper duper duper less!!! If any of you decides to go through this too, please please please, make sure the shop you buy the glutathione vials, vitamin c vials, and placenta vials are legit. So many fakes out there! I'm very tan and never dreamed of being white. I do love love love my tan skin, but for my acne... I decided to give it a go. Glutathione is an antioxidant. Only the excess of it makes your skin lighter like when everything else is clean, the excess will just lighten your skin as what ive known 3 shades maximum i guess not sure. Skincare: Morning -CosRx lowph good morning gel cleanser -CosRx oil-free moisturizer -CosRx Sun Cream Night -CosRx Salicylic Exfoliatng cleanser -AHA/BHA Cosrx toner / ACV -CosRx Rice Mask -Etude House Tea Tree Mask (I swear by this mask!! Everyone I've introduced this to, never ever used any other. I use it 1-2x a week especially on breakout days) Routine: Every 3 days, 1 Glutathione 600mg vial + 1 Vit C 500mg vial + 1 Placenta 2ml Everyday 1000mg Vit C oral. Placenta: -stimulate renewal of epidermis (this is for acne, wrinkles, dull skin, eye-bags) -Improves Blood circulation -Helps attract and hold moisture in the skin -Normalize hormone production thus lighten pigmentation and freckles that's caused by hormonal imbalance Reduced Glutathione: -Fights Oxidative Stress -Antioxidant -Detoxifies -Anti Aging -May prevent stress and depression (This is true. I'm more happier and my energy level is high) -I sleep soo well every night too! -Helps reduce acne Everyone knows VitC is essential.. and well, I'm thinking of adding collagen too. But we'll see after all of these 10 vials what the results will be! Cause so far, the results had just been amazing! Also please note, if you'll have it done in a shop near you, it will be much more expensive than buying the box of vials alone and having it done by a professional Nurse/IVT/Doctor.
  10. can't stop picking forehead

when i was small, i had a LOT of pimples on my arms, and my mom used to pop them, after that i thought it was good to pop them so sometimes i'd lock myself up in the bathroom and pop every thing i could. this lasted years and now i'm left with ugly dark scars:( that was just to show how obsessive i am with popping. well now i'm a teenager and get quite a lot of pimples on my forehead, nose, etc. but i cannot control popping every single thing on my forehead, it ends up looking worse that what i started with. then i get scabs and i let them fall off, and my skin is clear for a few days, until more pimples start coming up and it all repeats again. i wish i had clear skin so i wouldn't have to pop anything i've tried salicylic acid and it doesn't work too much. i've also tried benzoyl peroxide and it worked for a while but then i started getting suuuuper irritated and burned from it. i used a 10% medication. i also tried ultra glows african black soap but i started breaking out badly and found out it was fake:( my acne is not severe so i don't think i'd be able to get medication from a doctor. does anybody know if the real african black soap works? honestly i'm desperate, im destroying my skin and i need help:( this pic is recent and honestly not even close to what i've done before:( someone help pls:(

  12. Hello, I have been battling closed comedones for a couple of years now but after a horrible breakout I tried using polysporin and my face broke out in comedonal acne ALL OVER. I would get the occasional inflamed pimple here and there but now I am having consistant breakouts and I feel that it's because of the comedones coning to a head so my face never seems to be clear.. I just started birth control because a majority of my breakouts occur on the jawline and next to my mouth on my cheeks. My Dr prescribed me Retin A micro 0.1% and i'm just curious as to how it worked for you? Will this get rid of my comedones or cause them all to come to a head? That is my biggest fear considering how many i have and the hyperpigmentation it would leave behind. Do closed comedones ever disappear on there own or do they HAVE to come to a head? thank you
  13. 18 y/o M. Wash my face twice a day, clean pillow case, plenty of vitamin D, healthy diet and sleep, regular showers, etc. For the past year or so, I've been waking up to 3-6 whiteheads on or under my nose. They tend to fade/ go away over the course of a day, so that my face is mostly clear when I go to sleep. Then new ones appear overnight. I do have oily skin Pic attached. Advice?
  14. Hi guys. (Horrific pictures ahead!!!) About a few months back my cheeks started to have these tiny bumps which I initially thought they were acne so I kept putting acne cream on them but to no avail. They don't come to a head no matter what and they are very visible under sunlight. After a month of having them, I went for a basic facial treatment and I was told that they were whiteheads, either from new cosmetic or skincare products allergy or the results of not cleansing my face properly. The beautician then helped me to extract them out and the aftermath of the extractions were horrific. My cheeks were filled with red spots and i was told that there were still a lot of gunk underneath my skin but there was nothing she could do since they have yet to surface. The next day after my facial, my face was significantly better and the red spots slowly became a darker shade of my skin (brownish-red?). I didn't think much about it because I had squeezed pimples before and they usually don't leave a scar on my face (it fades out as time passes). But it has been about 2 months now and they are still there? My cheeks and lower jaw also start to have tiny bumps that were a lot tiny than before and my cheeks are more prone to blind pimples now. Any suggestions or similar cases that have occurred to you guys too? I am so devastated with my skin condition right now. I used to only break out on my chin area due to hormonal imbalance but my cheeks is going from bad to worse. I am going back for a facial to extract out the existing ones first and see how it goes. I'm also considering to see a dermatologist? HELP
  15. I wash my face every morning with Cera Ve and overnight with Cera Ve and my Mia 3 brush. But it seems like no matter how clean I keep my face, I have little white bumps on my forehead that are only visible in certain light. They're not whiteheads, but they do pop and puss or something comes out. I just really want help and I want to know what this condition is because I'm really insecure about it. Thanks.
  16. A couple of weeks ago a rash started to appear on my chest, neck, back and few on my face. They're really small pimples with whiteheads and tend to not itch. They tend to easily burst with a scratch. I went to the doctors and they told me it was acne but I don't think it is. I've been on birth control for 8 months now and I've noticed that the pimples only appear during the three weeks I am on the pill and the week on my period they seem to clear and this cycle is consistent. I'm just wondering if anyone else has gone through this and would suggest anything to prevent this from occcuring. I have stopped taking the pill and it's been two weeks but there isn't much of an improvement. Please help! It is effecting my confidence a lot

  18. Hey there Acne.org users, (all my questions/points are in bold, the rest is just waffling/background info ) I've been browsing these boards a lot recently and 5 days ago decided to start the 'Caveman regime', I've read a lot of mixed feelings towards it on these boards, but can't seem to find anyone specifically writing about the question I have... A little background, i'm 23, male and have suffered with mild acne since I was about 16 - when I was 16 to 18 the acne was at its worst and daily I got new spots and they were all over. At the moment and for the past couple of years I get maybe 1 new spot every 2 or 3 days and my skin doesn't look so bad, but my skin is OILY, like on pictures that get taken and put on facebook my face just shines and looks horrible and I hate it, as i'm the only one in my group of friends with this problem - I know i'm not alone in this and probably everyone on here feels the same (sucks dont it!). ANYWAY.. Will the caveman be good to get rid of my oily skin? as i'm sure this is now the main cause of my acne, and if I didn't have oily skin, I wouldn't have acne... Also, i'd accept the few spots if my skin wasn't oily, it's the oil that is really upsetting me! It's day 5 on the caveman regime, I havent let water touch my face even in the shower, and i've got noticeably more whiteheads, like 5 on my face at the moment - generally I have no more than 3! I think from my research this is normal, Am I correct? Any other pointers on how to relieve my oily skin on caveman regime, or any advice that isnt related to the caveman regime? I'd really appreciate ANY input on this, as like everyone on here, i'm just sick and tired of having terrible skin, and mines not even the worse by far so I feel for those who are worse off than me. JRK
  19. Hello! I decided to share my Roaccutane experience as a log and hope it can also help others who are planning to or are consuming it right now. As a background, I have atopic skin problem / eczema and it broke out after my vacation to a tropical island. I thought I had harmless small bumps and whiteheads but they started to spread through my cheeks. This is when my dermatologist recommended Roaccutane to me. My prescription was to take a 10mg Roaccutane every day for 20days and once every 2 days for 10days. I waited until after my period to start the journey. The first and second week were challenging. Small acne bumps on my cheeks are becoming more apparent, some are enlarging and there were also some new ones. On the first week (around Day 5) there were flare ups on my right cheek and on the following week (around Day 10), it was my left cheek. My face was red and it felt dry too. I gotta say my face got worse in the first two weeks, I was tempted to stop. After consulting it to my dermatologist, she said it was normal for Roaccutane to flare up your acne in the initial phase and get rid of them eventually. Well good news, it really does. Entering my third week, I could feel my acne flare-ups starting to cool down and my skin is regaining its condition (around Day 16). There was only a small area of uneven surface left while a lot of the small acne bumps have disappeared. At this point, my skin felt a little less dry. I didn't have chapped lips or dry hair (in fact I dyed my hair this week) or any other severe dryness that I read online. However, I did get nosebleed this week after a music festival. Not sure if it was a Roaccutane effect as well lol Anyway, for the last week of maintenance (now), it was probably a hard to tell progress since I haven't noticed any significant difference from third week. I hope it can stay like this or better so I don't have to rely on Roaccutane anymore. Will update you on this, hope this helps everyone! Products used: - Vaseline Petroleum Jelly (must! must! to prevent dry lips) - Cetaphil Facial Wash - Nature Republic Aloe Vera Gel (to soothe skin after shower) - Avene Thermal Spring Water (to soothe and calm irritants, good for oil control too) - St Ives Apricot Scrub -Topicare Soothing Cream (moisturizer) - Jergens Body Lotion Note: - DRINK LOTS OF WATER. - Minimal makeup onIy, I only used BB cream. Skip the powder routine as it will accentuate your bumps.

  21. Hi! im a 19 year old female who's been dealing with severe acne since the age of 11 or 12. I've tried absolutely everything to get rid of it or at least lessen the severity of it- Dermatologist visits, diet change, exercise and lifestyle changes in general, topical and oral medications prescribed by dermatologist, OTC ointments and cleansers and masks and scrubs and exfoliants and on the spot treatments , I drink a ton of water every day, change my bed sheets and pillow cases almost daily, and am sure not to touch my face. I have become extremely self conscious of my skin and my skin condition is on my mind literally all hours or the day and I know stressing about it doesn't help. I wake up every day with more bumps under my skin or another whitehead. Every. Single. Day. I have no confidence because of my acne .i cannot leave my house without putting makeup on, which is only about twice a week. (I wear makeup that's safe for acne prone skin and all products I use are safe for acne prone ,sensitive skin, and I am extra careful to be sure to get all makeup off as soon as I get home). Even though makeup covers redness and discoloration and the reddish/purpleish scarring from the acne, it obviously doesn't cover texture. My skin is just very bumpy. It's like bumpy "blind pimples" under my skin that haven't come to a head yet so they arent whiteheads. I notice it especially when I'm examining my face in the mirror upclose and with my phone's flashlight on my face to really see everything. If I pick and pick and try hard enough to pop them ,they'll pop but it'll also leave a nasty bloody, wet scab from picking it to a raw pulp which is even harder ,sometimes impossible ,to cover with makeup since it leaks through makeup (luckily I've been able to control my urge to pick and pick and pick at my face lately) But my skin is just bumpy and with makeup you can still see the bumpy texture. The texture I think even looks worse with makeup on. What is this? They're mostly on my chin and jawline and cheek area. I do a microdermabrasion face mask once or twice a week, or basically whenever I wear makeup after I take it off at the end of the day. The mask I use is from a company called "e-ra organics" I think. And it comes in a small white bottle labeled "revive microdermabrasion". It exfoliates with the beads in it and makes sure all makeup and dirt is out of my skin On top of my generally bumpy skin texture I still get those red bumps up on my skin that aren't quite a head yet but aren't below the surface anymore. I usually end up popping them anyway as it's easier to pop and if done right don't leave scab. but when I do pop anything I make sure I use a clean needle and tissue/toilet paper and clean hands and I wash my face after wards. The condition of my skin is very frustrating but I'm really concerned mainly now about the bumpy texture. what is it? What can I do about it? Any products to help my skin texture ?
  22. Closed Comedones..Please Help!!!

Hi everyone, I'm a 21 years old female who suffers from the worst type of acne in my opinion. Each one of my cheeks have at least 40 closed comedones (clogged pores/ Whitehead and blackheads) mainly whiteheads. I have had them for about a year and they don't form a head to become a pimple nor do they go away. I have combination skin and tend to get oily on my T-zone, this is my only form of acne besides of course the once cyst every month around my cycle. If I squeeze them hard white stuff comes out for some and some nothing comes out. For those that do come out will refill a few days later. I don't have any on my chin or forehead only on my cheeks. I'm a picker and I can't help not touching them which leaves my skin with scabs and hyperpigmentation. I finally decided to see a dermatologist and she diagnosed me with clogged pores (closed comedones) like I thought. She gave me Benzoyl peroxide 2.5% with Clindamycin lotion in the morning and Tretinoin gel .05% at night for two months. I'm on my seventh week now and still no improvement at all. This is what's happening so far which is scaring me.. Some comedones are becoming pustules, huge, red and painful... I thought this was good because this means that they are leaving my skin but wait for this, after the inflammation is gone and everything is calm I come to see the comedone still there, which means that this comedone basically got inflamed only to return as soon as the inflammation was gone. I have noticed this happen on a couple of them and that just drive me crazy after I had hope in the Tretinoin to solve the problem. Note: Using the tretinoin I had no new acne or comedones at all, just some of my OWN comedones inflamed. Also since starting the tretinoin I stopped picking my face. If anyone knows what the hell is my skin going through or is going through this right now or have gone through it please please please tell me what you did and what exactly is happening and if this is normal. Shouldn’t my skin be starting to show some improvement on seven weeks of tretinoin? My regime: Daytime- Cleanse with Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser Apply Clindamycin lotion and Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5% Moisturize with Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion Night time- Cleanse with Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser Wait 30 min then apply a pea size Tretinoin Gel .05 Wait 30 min then Moisturize with Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion PS. The picture looks better than real life.
