  1. Here I am back again after 5 years of dormancy. Can you please let me know what I can do about these giant scars on my nose? These pictures are from 5 years ago. Now the scars are a lot deeper and wider. I'm moving deep into my mid-30's and my life is just slipping away like sand through my fingers. Not that I had any life to begin with, but that's another story. Laser is only for superficial scars. I've been thinking about TCA cross but I read on Realself that it only really works for narrow icepick scars and not for the "giant wide icepick scars" like mine. Davin Lim and another derm specifically stated that TCA makes non-narrow icepick scars worse. There was a person with three scars on his nose that had clearly gotten bigger. So I've narrowed down my options to subcision with filler. Looking into Novick. I'm based in Asia so a trip to USA or Israel will not be easy on my wallet, but if it's effective then I'm willing to spend the money. Is microneedling an option too? Any feedback or comment will be appreciated.
  2. Hi everyone! I made an updated video on how I got rid of my scars with diet & needling. Some people had asked me to update I hope I help at least one person out there <3 I also posted a video with my before and afters on my channel if anyone wants to see my scars/skin before.
  3. I have a weird question to i have to apply the msm cream within the dent or around the dent? Because if it is supposed to remove the top layer we should apply only around the dent otherwise it will deepen the scar as well. And if it only regenerates new cells, should we apply it only within the deep scar and not around it? This is the picture of my scar. pls tell me how i can treat them wih products without laser or any other major treatment like TCA cross and etc. Some people claim that only rosehip treated their boxscar. i have the same question for rosehip oil. Apply it only in the scar or around it?thank youuthe msm cream i have is this .. pls tell me if this one is good for deep scars
  4. I have come to realize I have a poor healing response. Any pimple, especially in my cheek area will leave a very shallow indent in its place. I always knew that my skin healed slowly, but now I am scared to start trying different treatments, specifically using the derminator and tca peel. Can anyone give me advice in what route I should take, especially those with the same issue. Can using the derminator cause further damage if my skin's healing ability is not the best? thanks so much!
  5. What would be better , a Q tip or toothpick for scars ? I read somewhere Q tip for the bigger ones and toothpick for the smaller ones (mainly ice pick scars)..... also does it matter if you get a little outside the scar ,like around the edges? I would think that would help even it out more? hmmm..

  6. Take vitamin D and K to begin with, that will help rebalance your retinoids. Anxiety is probably one of the main causes, as Accutane completely messes up your stress and sex hormones, so right now your body probably feels a tonne of stress. People who take such a limited dose recover much better, and one of my friends took 80mg for 15 months and he is good now, though it knocked him around for a fair bit.

One of the ironic things about accutane is it makes your body react poorly to stress, then creates a fuckton of it.

    My full recovery advise is:
"Buy creatine, fish oil, coq10, zinc, multivitamins and a decent protein powder, take the recommended dosages for all of these, and try to meditate for 20 minutes a day"(if its early days take some k2 and vitD as well, that will get your retinoids in check post tane)

Anyway, even if you are a random healthy male the things I've recommended would only improve your health, all would probs be available if you went to your local discount chemist
  7. First of all, I'm really sorry for my English. I'm currently 18 and suffering from acne scars I've suffered from acne started when I was 12 (not cystic, it's like whiteheads, blackheads, and sometimes pimple) and I don't really have many acne right now, they just show up in some spots and they rarely show up. Anyway, so I'm suffering from the scars that are left from the acne. Now I'm not sure if the scars just showed up naturally or what, but back in 2016 I applied azelaic acid on my acne which mostly are whiteheads, blackheads, and some pimple on some spots. And the azelaic did clear my skin, so I would just apply it for 3 months even though the acne had gone just to make sure that I've got rid of them. But somehow, I guess the azelaic cream left me some scars on the spots where I applied to. I mostly applied it on the temple cause that's where the whiteheads and pimples showed up. The scarring I have, maybe they're ice picks. What kind of treatment would you suggest me? However, I'm really interested in the treatments of Dr. Davin Lim since I saw his before and after videos on his YouTube (and Australia isn't far from my country). Can he treat ice picks scarring? So this is my scarring, you can see the area in white is where I applied the azelaic cream. And as you can see that the area where I applied the azelaic turned to be 'lighter' you can see that the area where I didn't apply the azelaic still remains the same (it's still natural, like it doesn't turn to be 'lighter' like the marks where I applied the azelaic)

After going through highschool with a face full of horrible angry red pimples, I've been left with a bunch of tiny indents on my skin (all icepick/ boxcar scars). My acne scars have been bothering me for a couple years now so I thought I'd give subcision a try! I'll try to update this as often as possible so that others can see the results and consider if subcision will work for them or not. My scars a day before the procedure, with a cameo appearance of a nasty whitehead. The scars aren't huge but are scattered around my cheek areas, making them look rough instead of smooth. Day 1: A few hours after the subcision and extraction. The subcision was a bit painful at first because the doctor didn't wait for the local anesthesia to kick in. He just jabbed in a couple shots and went straight to the subcising. They put a bunch of hydrocolloid patches on the needled areas and instructed me to take them off tomorrow afternoon. As you can see, there is minor bruising and swelling as well as red marks from the extraction they did before the subcision.

What's the best skin regime for people with depressed acne scars on their face? I have terribly deep scars (boxcar and icepick) so I'm a little confused as to what products I can/cannot apply. Also, I'm currently undergoing treatment for the scars so is there something I should totally avoid? I follow my regular CTM routine that's all. I use a cleanser prescribed by my doc then go in witch a hazel toner followed by cetaphil moisturizer and finally spf 50 in the morn. At night I cleanse and replace cetaphil with vit e oil and skip spf. That's all. any suggestions?

Hey Guys, I found this forum today and I am relieved in a way I can speak to like minded people because my general friends/family do not understand what I go through on a day to day basis. In my teen years I suffered severe acne. Parents took me to a dermatologist, took accutane for the time needed. Yes it was a temporary fix. But what came afterwards was what has affected me for years and still to this day it kills me to see everyone around me with nice skin and I have been unlucky. Being a 20 year old with fat loss in cheeks is a very rare occurence. Some dermatologists said it was the accutane, others said its my "genes". Not ONE family member of mine has what I have. At 22 years of age I moved states to get better medical advice and start a pathway to treating my scars/fat loss/large pores. After going to apparently the best dermatologist in the area, I started undergoing a treatment plan which consisted of a few co2 laser sessions. With high hopes I did everything right, after 8 weeks there was very little improvement and no collagen reproduction whatsoever. Tried a second co2 after 12 weeks, same result. Very little improvement. As a matter of fact I believe I may have lost more fat. After a few weeks I got hyperpigmentation. Did a series of peels with same thing again, little improvement. Did another cycle of accutane, little improvement and horrible experience. Last year I decided to go to a different dermatologist. They tried to fill my face up with fillers and botox for the forehead and cheeks. Botox worked for a while. A month to be exact. Only 1ml each side was put into my cheeks. Little improvement but they definitely underestimated how much I needed to fill my face up. Now at 27 I have gone to another dermatologist yet again. I have started a new treatment of co2 laser but they have done a subcision treatment and a tca peel in certain areas. I am being hopeful with this new treatment but with my past experiences its playing with my mind. The day after co2 my face looked so full. if only that was a permanent look I am after other possible treatments that have been proven to work if this fails. I have spent easily over $15000 in just treatments alone only to see the same face in the mirror everyday without improvement. Some of the users here complain about a couple of scars here and there. I would kill to have what other complain about on here. I have attached pictures of my scars, this is 1 week post co2 (today)
  12. I have been considering TCA CROSS for a few icepick scars and one fairly wide boxcar scar that I have. I've been looking all over the internet trying to find some good examples of what I can expect my face to look like for the weeks following the treatment but I can't really find much documentation of what it will look like (btw I am a one on the fitzpatrick scale). Does anyone have a few good pictures or video of what this will look like? I was going to see a plastic surgeon to have it applied, but I am a bit apprehensive about any risks. As far as I can tell it seems like a fairly safe procedure, but I was just hoping for some reassurance on here... Also, I was wondering how the boxcar scar would be treated. If it is wide, long and shallow could TCA be used or would they use subcision on it? Thanks!

My treatment journey started in 2014, I did to Palomar laser with no luck and no improvement. So I stopped, until I saw a post on this forum. The post recommended Dr. Morganroth who is in the Bay Area. The girl saw a great improvement after the first treatment and did three in total. She mainly had rolling scars, so subcision worked very well on her. I have a combination with boxcar, ice pick, and rolling scars. I hate mostly the two large box car scars from adult chickenpox when I was 18. The next I am concerned of are the small tiny but very deep boxcar and icepicks. I did two sessions with Dr Morganroth costing $1500 each session and saw improvement. I am not sure where to go next. I probably will do another subcision with him, because I saw that the two chickenpox scars that I hated most indeed raised, even though the edges are still clear. Any advice on how to blend the edges and make it less visible is appreciated. So here comes the pictures before the treatment. Sorry for the different lighting.... Here are forehead comparison before the treatment and after the 2nd subcision forehead before forehead after There does not seem to be a huge difference on my left cheek
  14. what should i do about my scars?

Hi, Im new here and i was hoping anyone had experience of how to help bad scarring, Im 19 now and have extremely pale skin. I have had acne for years and i still get pimples sometimes but for the most part it isnt what it used to be like. But now i have horrible pits all over my face, mostly my cheeks. I have a combination of rolling scars and boxcar scars., I dont really have icepick scars but i do have big pores. I take good care of my skin and use a cream called tactupump. I have also tried microneedling at home for about 6 months and it seems to be doing nothing . I am extremely depressed and already have issues mentally, but this is making it much more impossible to do anything, i can barely go outside. I dont have much money so i dont think i can afford to do laser treatments. Id like to try subcison, but i dont know anywhere around the Kitchener/Waterloo Ontario area that does it. Im desperate at this point, anyone have any advice?
  15. Hey everyone, thanks for taking the time to read my post! Before I show my pale skin and confusing scarring, I want to say that I have researched everything I could have for these scars and I'm still just as confused. I tried to get a few different angles as well as different forms of lighting. Ignore the redness as these were taken shortly after some exercise. Thanks! These two were taken with only natural light coming in through a window from a weird angle. These three were taken under a single lightbulb in the bathroom, again had to shift and shimmy to find an angle that showed the canyons. Another thing to note is that the scarring in the pictures are hard to notice if they aren't in certain lighting, and if I barely stretch the affected skin, the scars appear to disappear. Im curious to if these are moderate to severe scars and what treatments I could do to lessen the noticeablity. Thanks for reading!

I've suffered from severe acne since I was 12, went on Lymecycline at 13 for 6-7 months and have been left with dark marks and these scars? (I'm 15) Lymecycline cleared my cystic and pauple acne but my skin doesn't look that much better. At first I thought my scars were enlarged pores so I tried pore strips etc. - they didn't work. I suspect they are ice pick scars but I genuinely don't know. Could someone please suggest what they are and possibly give me advice on how get rid of them. Thanks in advance x
  17. So I am 18 and i still have some active acne but i am wondering if the marks on my face are indented scars or just pigmentation. I started useing differin 5 weeks ago for the acne, will that combat these marks, and if they are scars will differin even them out?
  18. Hey guys, My face is covered with acne scars that have surfaced mainly from picking at my skin. I've had 2 lazer resurfacing treatments in the past, costing a total of 2 grand. The treatments didn't really do much, so I've spent the last year and a half researching other, less expensive options. I ended up purchasing a dermaroller that had the best reviews. It was supposed to be a really good quality roller, but it felt as if it was causing microtares so I never used it again. I later purchased TCA 100% in attempts to perform the cross method. I did a test spot on the side of my forehead, where if it worsened the scar I wouldn't mind so much. Everything went fine with the test spot, but still I've been really nervous to try it on my cheek, as I'm terrified of making any of the scars that do bother me, worse. Since I want the end results to be better instead of worse, I'm constantly searching for any new tips/tricks on performing the cross technique, just in case I missed anything. Also, it's because I'm still a little unsure of the types of scars I have in the first place, and from what I understand the actual TCA application is different for icepicks and boxcars. The area that bothers me most is my left cheek, so I've posted pictures for some input on the types of scars on my cheek. And, if they're mixed, which ones (specifically) are the icepicks/boxcars. The two pictures are the same, but in the second one I've pointed to the specific scars I need to identify. I'd also really like to hear what you guys think would be the best treatment in removing them. Should I continue on my quest to perform TCA cross? Should I just go buy the derminator? Maybe get subcision? Also, I'd like to hear if anyone has any advice on performing TCA cross. During application, should the toothpick actually touch the walls inside the scar? I've read yes, and I've also read no, that it should only touch the very bottom. I've also read that if you only do the very center it could widen the scar. It's all just so confusing and I wish someone would tell me definitively where exactly the toothpick should touch for the types of scars that I have on my cheek. Please send your thoughts and any advice!
  19. Hey Guys, I've been lurking in this forum for over four years now but haven't actually found the guts to post yet. So firstly, thank you to all the members for the valuable info here. Thankfully, I don't suffer from acne anymore (thanks to a year long dose of Accutane). I've finished my round of Accutane over six months ago so I'm now trying to find the preferred route of treatment for my depressed acne scars. I'm really hoping there's a solution for my scarring, at least to minimize their appearance, I feel like my life has been turned upside down and all people see when they see me is my scarring. It's really hard to accept that, so if you could please explain to me what type of scars these are and their level of severity I think it would really help me towards finding the best possible solutions for them. Since I'm actually completely clueless at what type of scarring I have (some days I think they're icepicks, others I see them as rolling scars). I've attached some overhead lighting pics (with make up on, I think this way they look like ice pick scars) and some front facing ones with flash (this is when they sort of look like rolling scars, it's pretty confusing). Also, I am a 22 years old woman based in Barcelona, Spain so if anyone knows of good dermatologists or plastic surgeons that would be amazing. Thank you.

Hey guys, So I'm looking to get professional help to take care of my Acne scars. I am having a hard time just finding someone to see....I called a few dermatologists but they didn't do cosmetic work. I've posted some pictures of my scars on here and was told TCA Cross would be beneficial. So my question is....Should I be looking for a dermatologist or a plastic/cosmetic surgeon?

I've had a scar directly in the middle of my philtrum for a couple of months although I don't remember exactly when I got it. The philtrum is the little indention above your lip. Well anyway it's super annoying and is extremely noticeable due to its symmetry of being directly in the center of it. It resembles an enlarged pore like you get from blackheads on your cheeks, but a little bit bigger and deeper. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it or reduce it? Anything will help
  24. hi well I am a 15 year old girl and ive been suffering with acne for about 2 years but about a year ago it started getting really bad. About two months ago i started on minocycline 100mg twice a day and it broke me out three weeks later but now i only have hyperpigmentation, like 10-15 small icepick scars (kinda look like pores but a lil bigger) and like two shallow scars. Will these go away with time or did any of you guys acne scars took away??? Can you guys recommend any homemade face masks for hyperpigmentation too. How long will my hyperpigmentation take to go away??? Im realy stressed for my acne scars
