  1. Have u had ur digestive system checked at all? Is there really something wrong with it? A year ago I found out I have something called h. Pylori. Which a lot of people actually have and I read that it might have an affiliation with acne. I haven't done anything about it, but I definitely am now. In fact, next week I'm getting everything checked; hormones, allergies, vitamin deficiencies, etc.. because I recently had an allergic reaction to stinging nettle. I got hives and pretty sure it's what caused me to break out becuz of the stimulation the allergy gave me. Anyway I'm mentioning this becuz u stated junk food. I really don't think food is the culprit becuz there are many ppl out there who eat poorly and/or don't really take care of their skin yet have pretty good skin. I really think some of us are genetically/biologically prone to more skin issues than others, so it's not the fault of the food. About the tamanu, it seems it does a better job at healing skin once it's no longer active, like red marks, based on my experience and yours. I'm not going to conclude that, though, until maybe 2 weeks from now, just in case pimples reappear in the areas I put tamanu on. So far though it's been pretty good. It does best whenever I have a slight itchy spot and on my red marks. I'm going to continue using it as a spot treatment for now. Do u use it as a moisturizer day and night? I wish you luck with the product, well luck for both of us
  2. Skin texture (pic)

The texture on a section of my left cheek has become pretty bumpy. I'm not sure why or how I long this has been going on but I know it started no more than a year and a half ago. A year ago I got an aha. Since I've bought it, I've primarily been using it on my right cheek and t-zone. It's done a good job with texture n color there and I actually don't get acne on my right cheek anymore. However some mornings I'll wake up to it having a couple of small irritated looking red spots. They usually go away in a week but idk why they come n go. I use to it nearly every night and now I've cut back to a couple times a week. My left side however gets the least amount of aha becuz at first it gave me irritatIon. After I started using it more the irritation went away. But ever since July I cut back even more on the aha on my left, and now the texture looks worse. The picture makes it seem colorless but they're very light pink bumps. Nearly skin colour. But the texture is very strange. Almost leathery. I'm confused becuz I don't think I had this problem before the aha , but now that I've tried it it looks worse the less i use the aha. (I went a couple weeks without using in August becuz I had an allergic reaction which caused me to breakout) And then the irritation on my right that comes n goes. I have a feeling there's just something funky going on with my cheeks becuz everywhere else I put aha 10% is fine. Any ideas? Btw I had on some stickers to cover up some recent red marks.
  3. So far nothing different has happened. Just dark red marks now. Ur still getting acne in the areas u put the tamanu?
  4. AHA on sensitive skin

No one has experience with this? AHA works for me, but every now and then the day after I apply my red marks will look brighter than usual, but most of the time they are fading away
  5. Thanks for the reply! I'll keep those products things in mind. Also wondering about something else! Have u ever put tamanu oil on a pimple that u popped? Two pustules i had leaked/popped on their own, but not all of it came out so i squeezed what I could and put pimple stickers on them to drain out more. On one of them nothing but that clear liquid is coming out but it's still sore so I put tamanu on it since it's antibacterial. A few hrs later it's still sore. I'm wondering if this was a good idea or not
  6. Wow that's great improvement for 12 days! Ur skin also looks healthy despite the hyperpigmentation. How did u ultimately cure ur acne?? I Also want to add that I'm using the Aura Cacia brand. Which do u use?
  7. I've been using tamanu over a week and I'm pretty happy! I only use it as a spot treatment. Two spots I've been putting it on have shrunk! Not entirely gone yet but I'm pleased. Also, one day I had a red itchy area on my chin for some reason. I Put tamanu on it and within an hr it was gone! I got another itchy red area this time on my left cheek so I tried it again, and by the end of the day it's pretty much gone now! II'm gonna use it on a few more pigmented areas now that I'm satisfied with the results I only use this during the day tho cuz I think it might be too heavy at night
  8. Cortisone Shots!

Hello. I'm considering getting a cortisone shot, but I don't really have cysts. I have 2 pustules that are sore. One has a whitehead and the other is almost at a head but not quite. The pus is only slightly visible. I Got these from Cerave moisturizing cream by the way. So sad. Just wanted to try out a new moisturizer. Anyway I'm wondering if I could still get cortisone shots for these??? A quick answer would be greatly appreciated since I want to get this done this week
  9. I feel sad

I know how u feel I've been feeling the same way recently. Everything was going great, and then I get an unexpected breakout. What were u doing to ur face while it was in good condition? If u changed anything try to get back to how u were doing things then. I think what might be responsible for the breakout I had was some tea I started drinking. Ironically everything started happening a few days after drinking it. I've stopped drinking it now, it's been almost a week since I had it. The small pustules I got from my breakout are now just red marks that need to flatten n lighten up. Luckily they're not bad n I know how to clear them up, but I also got a random cyst last night that makes my face sore just feels like one thing after the other, but I'm hoping it shrinks away. But it will get better once you get things back to normal. I remind myself about the success I was able to accomplish with my skin and how clarity IS possible. And maybe ur skin improved a lot becuz u were at peace while on vacation. Happiness is always good for skin.
  10. Update

What have you been doing to keep ur acne under control? For the redness I recommend an AHA. Preferably one that's less than 10%
  11. I must've been cursed!

My skin was doing so well, so clear, then idk what happened. Feels like a curse. Today i got this redness on my left cheek, which rarely gets acne. I didn't think much of it becuz I tend to get very mild irritation in this area every now and then, nothing more than that. But it began to swell and now it is sore. It's making the entire left side of my face sore. It's not very raised, but I can feel tenderness as if there's a deeper bump underneath. I've had cysts in the past, but only on my chin and they don't get very big and go away in a week and have never hurt this much. I'm not even sure this is a cyst becuz i never have had anything like this and it is just throbbing unlike any pimple I've ever had. has anyone had this? Can this occur becuz of rosacea? Please help
  12. Breakout relapse

The pustule I last mentioned had crusted on the top, but today when the top fell off there was still pus underneath. It wasn't liquidy, It was just there and didn't come out. So I put aha on it and a hydrocolloid sticker cuz I didn't want to squeeze it, even though it doesn't hurt. Anyone ever had a pustule do this? How do u fix it?
  13. Acne mostly in one area of face

Omg it's just one or two bumo without a head right? You need to stop freaking out! That makes it worse! Be glad it hasn't come to a head cuz those r more frustrating in my opinion. You are very young, so u need to realize that acne at ur age is normal. If u pick at it, u might leave a scar that'll last until adulthood. So relax and realize that eventually it'll get better if u stop picking. What u can do is place a pimple bandage on it. U can find those at places like Walgreens or target. Leave it on during the day and before bed put a new one on. Do this for a couple days and see how much it heals on its own
  14. Tea fans come here

Everyday Detox Tea by Traditional Medicinals. I am VERY sure that this stuff works to clean u out (well me at least). Within a few days of drinking this, two clogged pores/ingrowns that I had for MONTHS finally came to a head. Unfortunately they became some of the biggest zits I've ever had and have left their marks, but I'm still very surprised that they randomly came to a head after such a long time. I'm also currently breaking out, but in the usual places, so it's more of a purge I think because I believe it might be due to this tea. Point is, i cannot think of anything else that made my dormant bumps finally come out cuz nothing else in my routine had changed. This tea on the box says it supports healthy skin and liver function....i don't think that's a coincidence. I just really hope that this purge goes away soon! UPDATE What I had was not a purge. It was an allergic reaction. I know this becuz within days of quitting the drink my hives went away and haven't been back since. So, this means I'm allergic to stinging nettle. I'd stay away from this drink if u suffer from allergies
  15. Has anyone tried dynarex dynaderm hydrocolloid bandages? I bought these a week ago cuz they're a much more affordable product than what I was using before, but I have a feeling they caused me some acne. I applied these atop some hyperpigmentation from acne i had a couple weeks before. Then around Thurs I started getting zits where I had placed the bandaids. Some r more painful as some r less painful than what the originals were, but they are all pus-filled and have developed a head. Weirder thing is when I used this on my upper lip I didn't get a pimple, just on the spots where the previous zits were. I'd just like to know if anyone has reacted this way to these bandaids before. If so, I'll probably switch back to the Korean brand I was using, though they're pricier.
  16. What kind of acne do u usually get? Whiteheads, cysts without heads, etc.? They say that hormonal acne appears on the lower half of the face, so maybe it isn't hormonal. Maybe It's becuz of stress. I used to get acne on my cheeks , but that lessened when I began birth control. But what REALLY helped my cheek pimples and hyperpigmentation was AHA 10%. It's been months since I've had acne there n my redness has greatly decreased. However, occasionally I'll get a weird itchy red bump on the front of my face on the left and right. They go away within 3 days n don't leave anything behind, so idk what's really causing them, but i assume it's a mild case of rosacea. If that's more like what ur going through then it could possibly be rosacea as well
  17. Breakout relapse

Ok so the really large whitehead I had loosened up and began leaking after my shower. So i decided to wipe away the pus. It was so easy to wipe away and as soon as i wiped there was nothing but some blood in the hole. This one had no pain at all and was slightly yellow so I'm guessing it was ready to go. I immediately put a hydrocolloid bandage on it and will replace when it gets soggy. Hope this won't backfire! Any suggestions or advice? Especially regarding preventing infection and stopping a pimple in its early stage? Also I put aha on tonight, as I do a few times a week, and noticed that after an hr of it on the other pustule no longer hurts! When a pustule begins to lose pain does that mean it is nearly dead? I hope so!
  18. Breakout relapse

So I had a breakout in late July. With it came three white heads close to each other on the left side off my chin, and a couple more whiteheads on my right jawline. This was due to heavy stress and pms. I know this becuz it was the first breakout I had in months, appropriately during a very stressful time for me. Then into August they managed to go away n now I'm just left with the marks, but they're fading well. HOWEVER...now about a couple weeks later... whiteheads. Near the same area. I'm guessing this happened becuz I might've squeezed a couple too hard or incorrectly. I'm not much of a picker but I guess I picked at some. Don't really remember. Anyway I thought they'd be gone for good since I kept a bandaid designed for acne on them pretty much all the time. Sadly I was wrong. I now have a pimple growing right where the triplets were, and 2 very sore whiteheads to the right of it. One is already a huge whitehead, the other is halfway there. And I've gotten one sore whitehead where the ones on my right jawline were. These r much more painful than the original ones were for some reason. This has irritated the crap outta me cuz i was gonna get a hydrafacial as soon as my marks were healed enough, but once they started significantly lightening up.... boom, another breakout on top of the past one. Luckily I know that this was completely hormonal and also had a bit to do with me not being consistent with my aha at the time, so as soon as these are drained n cleansed properly I won't be having another breakout. My cheeks don't get acne and most of the time neither does anywhere else, but this time that ain't true. So I'm wondering how do I treat these sore whiteheads? And by whiteheads, yes, I mean the big pus-filled craters. I've been dabbing them with aha today becuz aha is what keeps the rest of my face clear. is that a good idea? I use 10% btw. I'm definitely not gonna pick them anymore cuz I really don't want round 3

  20. How to heal scab in a week?

This is the first time I've ever had a real scab from a whitehead. What I've done is placed a piece of hydrocolloid dressing on it. These are basically big, medical bandaids used for larger wounds, but u can cut them to the size u need with scissors. I Got mine on Amazon, but there r also facial bandaids sold in stores. I use these for my red marks from previous acne and they work very well, but this is my first time using it on a scab. I'm sure I'll get goods results from it as well. Is it's completely flat or is there some swelling still? Either way, I'm sure covering it up well help it heal.
  21. My A.M. Routine: - Albolene - Water - Ponds moisturizer - elta md sunscreen P.M.: - Albolene - Water - AHA 10% twice a week or - derma e scar gel - Ponds moisturizer Other: - Everyday Detox Tea - Vestura birth control So this has been my routine the past month and I've had acceptable results. I don't have any active right now aside from some ingrowns. I've been on bc for a couple years, and though it's been a big help, it isn't the ultimate cure. The AHA has almost cleared all of my old red marks and prevented me from getting acne in the areas that I put it on. I'm still not entirely comfortable with it though because my left cheek sometimes is irritated by it, and some days it isn't . Still trying to figure that out. But the one thing I wanted to highlight is the Everyday Detox Tea. I started taking this a little over a week ago because I thought it might help the breakout I got in early August (it had been months since I had a bad breakout, but I was very stressed at the time). I didn't realize its effects until I noticed a clogged pore/ingrown hair on my upper lip that I've had for months started coming to head. I figured it must be the tea since it was the only thing in my routine that had changed. I checked the tea box and to my surprise I found that under its title it read "supports healthy skin and liver function". Then a few days later, another clogged pore that I had for a while started coming to a head. I was flabbergasted! I still have it right now and it's become a big painful boil with a white tip. So my guess is that the tea is cleansing me out really well if it managed to bring those two dormant bumps to a head. I'm glad they've come to a head, but they hurt! N it seems that one of them has 2 heads. This sucks becuz I'm getting great results everywhere else on my face, so I really don't wanna have to deal with the aftermath of these boils. Anyone know how to handle these?
  22. Red marks

Looks like mild acne and hyperpigmentation. Sort of similar to what I have but on a small part of my left cheek. Before u start treating it, I'd suggest u try to figure out the root of the problem. Get tested for allergies, check ur hormones, and get evaluated for rosacea to see if u can find out what the underlying problem is. Then u can proceed with suitable treatments.
  23. I bought AHA 10% last year but didn't start using it consistently till a few months ago. I've seen great improvement with my red marks on my right cheek. They're nearly gone now. The AHA also works well on new marks. I recently had a breakout (stress + pms) after not having one for a few months, but the aha along with my scar gel are fading my marks nicely. However, my left side seems to not handle the aha as well. I use aha about 2 times a week, used it last night, but today my left side looked redder n slightly irritated, after it had been looking lighter for about a week using the same products. I wonder, why is my left side more sensitive than my right? Anyone else have this problem?
