Hey you guys. We just uploaded the latest version of the community software. Basically that means things should work faster and better, but there may also be some bugs. A few bugs that we already know about are:

    - likes aren't working right now (we're on it)
    - youtube video link isn't working right now (we're on it)
    - sorting in gallery and blogs by title is doing Z-A instead of A-Z

But other than that, if you find any bugs, please reply here and let us know and we will add it to the list the fix it up.

    Thanks!

Very often I hear from people who said the reason they decided to try The Regimen is because they went through the success stories.

Another thing people ask me a lot is how they can help spread the word. Probably the best thing you can do to spread the word about The Regimen is to post your own success once you are cleared up. A video is best, but a before and after, or even just an after picture, is also awesome. A simple written success story is great too.

Please take a moment to post your success once you're clear!

If you're just starting on The Regimen, feel free to start a video blog so people can follow along as you clear up. Alternately, take a before picture of your skin now and an after picture once you're clear.

There is no solicitation allowed on Acne.org, so we carefully look at any requests for Acne.org members to volunteer for things. In this case, I have spoken to the researcher and it appears to be a legitimate study with no financial component that is furthering our understanding of acne. So, I told Lee, the person needing volunteers, I would post this for him. So, without further ado, here it is.
    _____
    Hello everyone!

I am a postgraduate student studying my Masters degree in Clinical Psychology at Swansea University in the United Kingdom. I’m looking to recruit men and women to take part in a research project exploring the experience of individuals living with acne.

I have lived with acne since my early teenage years and this has has ignited my academic interest in how others like me experience the condition. Despite the prevalence of acne in adolescents and adults all over the world, in psychological research little attention has been given to the day-to-day experience of acne as reported by the sufferers themselves. Particularly, I am interested in the impact that acne has on your life, your reflections on consultations you have had with doctors/dermatologists, and whether the experience of acne differs between individuals depending on their age, gender, or social experience.

For those who might be interested in taking part, the research will involve you and I having a brief discussion (30-60 minutes) about this topic. This will take place through typed text form over an instant messenger service (i.e. Facebook Messenger, Windows Live Messenger, WhatsApp) OR verbally over the telephone. This is subject to your preference and convenience. The confidentiality of all participants shall be ensured in the final report, and you will be free to discontinue participation at any time. All those who express an interest in taking part will be emailed a brief sheet outlining this research in more detail.

In order to take part you will have to meet the following criteria:

    - You must be over 18

    - You must have lived with acne for at least 6 months at any point in your life (the clinical or self-reported severity of your acne does not matter)

    - You must have been seen by a doctor/dermatologist for your acne at least once at any point in your life

If you are interested in taking part, have any questions about this project, concerns about the subject matter or would like any other information please  contact me:-

    Mr. Lee Sawyer

    Tel. +447951849641
    Email: leesawyer1994@gmail.com

You may also contact my academic supervisor:-

    Dr. Rachael Hunter

    Tel. (01792) 295714
    Email: R.Hunter@swansea.ac.uk

I will also attach an information sheet to this email Dan, this will be sent to any participants who express an interest in taking part; it contains some more detailed information about the aims and content of the study. If you require any more information from me about the study I'm happy to provide it. Additionally, if you yourself are interested in taking part then that's great too!

    Kind regards,

    Lee

Updated the chemical peels page. Superficial peels work to some degree for acne, but can be expensive and time consuming. My personal opinion is they aren't the best way to treat acne.

However, for scars, medium and deep peels appear to perhaps give good results. Just be careful and find an experienced dermatologist or plastic surgeon who specializes in scar treatment before you attempt one.

My name is Kyla. I am a professional freelance writer and the author of twenty-five educational books and dozens of magazine articles. I am writing an article on adult acne for Carolina Parent magazine. The article will be in the July issue. It will also be available online.

I also suffered with acne for twenty years, until spironolactone finally cleared my skin. I often lurked on acne.org during my struggle to find something that would help my acne.

I know this is an awesome community, and I hope you will be able to help me. I am looking for adults with acne to interview for my article. I want to know what methods and treatments work best for you, your tips and tricks. The purpose of the article is to help busy, tired parents figure out the cause of their acne and find some solutions that will help them get the clearest skin possible.

If you are interested, please contact me. I will send you a few questions via email or PM, and you can respond at your convenience. If you feel more comfortable using a pseudonym, I am fine with that.

If you are from North Carolina, that’s a plus, but isn’t necessary. I am looking for people from around the country.

I got a suggestion to separate the Scars/Hyperpigmentation forum into 2 forums, one for Scars, and a separate one for Hyperpigmentation (red/dark marks left behind after a pimple heals).

This was an obvious and good idea so I went ahead and put it on the to do list. It took quite some time but it's finished now and they are separate. I was surprised to see that there are more topics now in the Hyperpigmentation forum than there are in the Scars forum. This really underscores the fact that hyperpigmentation is as big of an issue as scars for many people, especially people with darker skin tones. Quite interesting.

We also added a Hypertrophic (Raised) Scars subforum to the Scars forum to keep that organized.

If you see any topics in these forums which are incorrectly assigned, please report them to us so we can further clean it up.
