I'm 20 years old and have had acne since I was about 15. I tried an antibiotic, and my acne got a lot better around 16 or 17. When I was 18, my acne got worse than it had ever been, and I've been dealing with this for the past two years. I've tried different creams, antibiotics, and natural remedies. The dermatologist I went to throughout high school never wanted to put me on accutane, so I changed doctors. My new doctor was all for it.
I didn't take starting tane lightly, but from reading all the miracle stories, I felt like it was my best option. I started it a week ago! Yay! I'm so excited to see what it will do for me and to be acne free. But I know it will be a hard journey.
My skin hasn't gotten very dry yet, but my skin is naturally oily. My lips are pretty dry. Aquaphor is helping with that. The only other symptom I have experienced so far is painful joints.
I'm new to this, so any Accutane veterans with any tips, feel free to comment!
