I've dealt with severe, scarring acne since I was 12 years old in 6th grade. Now I'm 19 (turning 20 in October), and I'm trying my hardest to get rid of it.
Last summer, I was on ampicillin, tretinoin, benzoyl peroxide, and clindamycin. That had no effect on me whatsoever.
I had to switch my doctor because the place where I used to go doesn't treat adults, so last week, my new doctor prescribed me benzaclin (same as BP and clindamycin) and minocycline for 10 weeks. If it doesn't work, then she said she'll recommend me to a dermatologist.
I don't have high hopes for minocycline... and I just want these 10 weeks to be over soon so I can go see someone who actually knows a thing or two about acne.
(That'll be July 21st).
I had a major breakdown a few minutes ago where I was so upset over my skin. But then I looked through a lot of different pages on this site, and I realized that I'm not alone in this fight. That made me feel a million times better.
