Day 3

It's getting really hard to not wash my face with soap, it looks great, probably the best it has looked in a good 6 months but it just feels weird not to be scrubbing it all the time !

My skin had started to get a bit dry in certain patches on my face but having a long bath (using only water) solved this problem and left my skin extra glowy.

Did have one new spot on my chin this morning but weirdly it has already disappeared, I'm hoping my skin is just regulating itself now (?)

A little bit nervous that I might suddenly break out or something especially as I have a date on thursday which I obviously don't want to be all spotty for. However, if this continues as it is going right now then I should be fine !

As before here are some pictures of my skin as it is right now.

I'll keep you posted !

Day 2

I haven't washed my face for 2 days now and surprisingly I haven't broke out, my red marks are starting to fade and I'm developing a slight glow in my skin.

Honestly, no treatment I have ever bought has worked as fast as this. My skin still feels a little dry and irritated, especially at night, but I'm hoping this will go away eventually.

As for what I actually do in terms of washing/not washing ; I take a warm (not hot) shower every morning and wash my hair, I don't make an effort to wash my face but it does inevitably get wet. I also will use soap on parts of my body that need soap to take away bacteria - like armpits, feet etc. Then I shave making sure to be really gentle and rinse off the foam with some warm water gently (but never scrubbing or rubbing my face). At night I do nothing, just go to bed.

I'm thinking about trying out some more natural shaving foams as the can of foam I use at the moment probably isn't doing much for my skin.

I'm also finding it really weird not to be washing all the time. As an acne sufferer, I was always told to wash my face 2/3 times a day, have a regime and apply lots of chemicals etc. Whilst I am sure this helps to a certain extent with hormonal acne, it probably wasn't helping out my skin in the long run. From talking to friends, relatives etc about skin I have started to notice that people with amazing skin barely do anything to it, they just leave it alone and wash it sometimes, it's mostly people who suffer some sort of problem skin that will be using the peels and the scrubs etc.

Anyway I've attached some pictures, it's not radically different than yesterday but hopefully you will notice some improvement. I will keep you updated !

Day 1

I have had problems with my skin for most of my life. As a baby I had severe eczema and in my early teens I developed pretty severe acne.

I'm not even exaggerating when I say i have tried every single acne treatment available on the NHS. I have even been through 3 courses of roaccutane!

Recently, whilst my acne has definitely died down, probably due to my hormones calming down a bit, I have noticed that 6 or 7 years of cleaners, topical creams, scrubs and thick moisturisers has left my skin scarred and in generally terrible condition. The eczema that I had as a kid has also come back and has left me itchy all the time.

After lots and lots of reading on this site and others, it became apparent to me that the easiest and best way to get clear skin was simply to leave it alone and not wash it. So I have set myself a bit of a challenge, as of today I'm going to try simply leaving my face and not washing it.

I will update every few days on here with some pictures to let you see how this works out for me !

I've attached some pictures of my skin as it is right now :)

The acne/ red marks are noticeable but not severe. Skin in general is dry and flaky often feels rashy. Extremely flaky on upper eyelids and forehead. Skin feels bumpy to touch and looks dull.
