I want to give up.

Sorry for the lack of update, it's been over a month since I last posted...

So it's been about 14 weeks since I started using Differin. But I did make some changes to my regime about a week ago. Instead of using Nivea Soft Moisturizer I am using Clinique Moisture Surge. I think it has helped but barley. I'm still getting acne.

My chin is pissing me off. I'm getting small acne there and I never had to worry about my chin before and now it's stressing me out. I'm not even apply differin there so I don't know what's the problem. I think I need to find a new cleanser, instead of the Cetaphil...possibly something stronger but I don't know what to replace it with...

I honestly don't know what to do anymore. It's been over 3 months and I still haven't seen any results. I think I should quit but I don't know what to use.

I can't even describe what I'm feeling. My self confidence is just gone. It's a struggle to get out of the house...I can't even look at the mirror anymore without cringing. I know I've said this before but now it's 10 times worse. I thought over time it would get better but unfortunately it hasn't. My mom said that if we go back to the derma that they're going to prescribe me accutane. I don't know where she heard that but I don't think my acne is that bad to use it. I mean yes my acne is pretty bad but I've heard what the side effects of accutane are and I read that it was a 'last resort' kind of thing. I'm sure there's other products out there that I haven't tried that are less severe than accutane.

I don't know what to do. I feel so hopeless and depress and it just sucks. I'm hoping that a miracle will happen.

10 weeks. ):

Oh my.

I've reached 10 weeks and I'm definitely not happy with what I'm seeing. This shall be a brief update since thinking about my skin right now seriously makes me depressed.

I honestly don't know if I'm seeing any results. I still have acne and new ones keep forming. The area around my mouth and chin is really frustrating. Like I said, I've been breaking out there and I haven't applied differin there at all. I have this bump on my chin and it's huge. Like you can't really see it but it's gonna be a pimple soon and it already hurts...a lot. ): Anyways, I've been thinking of apply proactiv, just the benzoyl peroxide around the area that I don't apply differin. Maybe this will actually help clean out the bacteria instead of just applying Cetaphil. I'm kinda scared though because I don't know of this is a good idea but I think I'll just start applying it in the morning...hmm...we'll see.

Other than that it's just more acne, more scars! I've never felt so insecure in my life.....

Although this journey has been extremely difficult I'm still going to stick with it until I reach 3 months. And then if I'm not satisfied...well let's hope it doesn't come to that because I'd really like to have clear skin one day.

): sigh.

2 months

Sorry for the lack of update. I was busy and kinda lazy...

Anyways, a couple of days ago was the 2 month mark of using differin. My breakout has slowed down, I only get like 2 big pimples whereas before I would wake up with 10 on my face. But at the same time I still have enough pimples to make me feel extremely self conscious.

I'm getting black heads on my chins which is really annoying. I don't apply differin there, only cetaphil cleanser and I think that's the problem. Since I'm only applying cetaphil it's not enough to fight all the dirt and stuff but I'm kinda scared to apply differin there 'cause I know it's gonna be hell. So I don't know what to do...we'll see.

I'm also getting pimples on my upper lip, and again I think it's the same problem of how I'm only applying cetaphil there. I know you're not suppose to put differin near your mouth and I'm not going to, but I don't know if I should find a cleanser that will actual help clear my skin but gentle enough not to react with differin. Or should I just keep using cetpahil. Ahh, I'm so confused. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Scars, scars, scars. There's a lot on my face and I fucking hate it. Especially around my upper lip, which sucks 'cause it's pretty obvious. There's also a lot on my forehead...actually they're just everywhere! I think I read somewhere that differin is suppose to lighten scars but obviously that's going to take some time and I have a lot of them on my face.

So the pimples on my forehead...I use to have this cluster of big, red zits on my temples but now they've decreased. I have a couple of whiteheads but what I've noticed is that they usually get smaller and kinda harden after a couple of days when I apply differin. So I guess that's good.

I can't believe I've been using this for 2 months. It's gone by fast but unfourntely I haven't really seen significant change. Some days my skin looks like it's improving (barley) and then there's days where it's bad...like I refuse to leave the house.

I'm gonna give this another month 'cause I read a post here that somebody gave this three months and their skin was suddenly clear. Gosh, I hope that happens for me. If this product doesn't work for me I don't know what to use after....hopefully I see major improvements in the next month.

7 weeks

So it's been 7 weeks and I'm still getting white heads and more pimples! Although those unexpected white heads that I posted last time are gone, new ones have come. Man, I seriously thought by then that I would see major improvements but not much. I'm still definitely breaking out...... When is it going to stop?! I'm feeling hopeless.

I'm also dealing with scars...lots and lots of them which is not only hard to get rid off but makes me extremely insecure.

I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong here. Maybe it's the products I'm using or my diet, I have no clue. Or maybe this initial breakout happens to stay this long, I have no idea.

Hm, well I'm still going to stick with the same regime. Again I will give this more time....why is it taking so long for me to see results???!!!!

Oh no...

I know I said I would update in another week but I just woke up this morning with literally 10 white heads on my face...that definitely wasn't there the night before.): ): Just have to keep reminding myself that it's getting rid of all the icky gunk...I just hope that they go away in like two days....-Summer

Another week has gone by and I have to say that's been a real tough week. This week I've gotten red zits and big white heads on my forehead.

What I hate right now is that I've gotten pimples near my mouth, especially on my upper lip, which on my opinion is the worse place you can get a pimple because it's so obvious! Yesterday I had this big white head right on my upper lip and it was so embarrassing 'cause I knew that people were looking at it. And you know what, I made it worse because I popped it! ): I have this reaaaaallly bad habit of picking my skin and I've tried so hard not to but it's such difficult habit to break! I know that if I stopped touching my face and picking at my acne the progress of this would probably be a lot quicker. I think my new goal is to stop touching my face, I know it would help a lot so hopefully I can stick with that. I'll try to avoid looking in mirrors 'cause that's how it kinda starts, I'll see all the imperfections and just start picking at it! If anybody knows any tips on how to stop this horrible habit please tell me, I would really appreciate it!

Um yeah, so it's just been more pimples on my face. Although one good thing is that I had this cluster of white heads near the side of my forehead and now they're pretty small, like you can't even see them anymore. So I guess that's something positive but I still feel pretty down 'cause there's waaay more on my face. Right now I have this big white head on my upper lip and I'm fighting the urge to pop it. (Hopefully it'll be small by the end of the weekend 'cause I feel extremely self concious) Oh another thing is that my forehead, especially near my hairline, it is SUPER itchy. I read that was one of the side effects so I guess I'll just deal with it.

I'm still going to stick with this. Like I said, I'm putting a lot of faith on this product. Another thing that's keeping me going is that little cluster of pimples that are now gone...I guess that's what's going to happen to the rest of my pimples over time, or at least I hope so. So yeah, I'll just keep on waiting. Hopefully by the 8th week I'll actually start seeing some major improvements.

Update in another week!

I find like five new zits every fucking day on my face :(I hateee this, my skin is so bad right now and I just wanna hide until this ends! And I guess it doesn't help that I'm stressed for my midterms. :(Whoever is actually reading this, please give me some hope. I apologize for this pointless entry but I felt like bitching. -summer

5th week - more red zits!

I think my breakout is getting worse. ):

I have more red bumps near the sides of my nose and more white heads on my forehead. Uggh, this seriously sucks, and tomorrow I have a party to go to. :\

I read somewhere that this initial breakout usually lasts between 2-8 weeks into it...so I'm pretty much right smack in the middle 'cause it's been 5 weeks since I started using it. I'm really hoping that once it's been 6 or maybe 7 weeks I'm going to start seeing results because I really hate my skin right now. My self confidence has never been this low before and right now I'm just doing a lot of hoping that this product will make my skin clearer and give me a confidence boost.

Again, I shall give it more time. :\

I'll update in another week!

1 month

It has been officially one month since I've been using differin. I have to say that by this time I was hoping that my skin would have somewhat be clearer...yeah no :)

Like I said, my face is definitely breaking out. What really sucks is that I keep getting red pimples on my cheeks. It's so obvious and I usually don't break out in that area. My forehead and between my eyebrows are getting bumps and more pimples as well. As I read from other peoples experience, apparently this is normal. I'm probably just experiencing the initial breakout but I really hope that it doesn't last that long. Right now my confidence level is like reaaaally low. I hate going out and talking to other people. I can't even stand to look at the mirror :D

I just hope that my skin will get better and i'll get over this breakout real soon cause new zit keeps coming up.

I guess that's all I really have to say. It's been a month to be honest my skin hasn't look any better, just more pimples. I'll try to keep my hopes up and wait.

3 weeks

I've been applying differin for I believe, 3 weeks now. Definitely breaking out. There's more pimples on my forehead but they're not too bad, mostly small little bumps and an occasional white head.

I'm even breaking out a little on my cheeks. The strange thing is that I'm breaking out a lot more around my nose and you can tell that the pores are bigger. I don't know what's up with that 'cause I don't even apply differin there...

Anyways, other than that I can't really say that there's been a real significant change to my skin. My problem is that I put a little bit foundation on which probably isn't helping with the progress. I know I shouldn't do that but I feel so bare without any foundation on... :\ Although I think next week I'll stop putting some on my face 'cause it'll probably decrease the breakout.

So far Nivea Soft is moisturizing my skin and it hasn't reacted with differin so that's good. Don't wanna jinx it though, haha *knocks on wood* As well, I've noticed that I've been a lot more oily than usual. I've always had oily skin but lately it's been more oily so maybe that's because of differin...

Anyways, I shall update in another week. I really hope this is working....

2 weeks

So it's been a little over two weeks and my I believe my skin is starting to break out...it's not severe or anything but I'm getting bumps and some red zits, specifically on my forehead. I've changed the moisturizer that I use at night. I use nivea soft moisturizer and so far it hasn't been reacting with differin, or at least I don't think so. I still use cetaphil facial moisturizer with SPF 15 but only in the morning. also, I've applied differin on my cheeks now and it actually has somewhat cleared the acne that was there. You can still see the scars but I think it's better. As for my forehead , which is really what I mostly want to get cleared, I don't know if I'm seeing results, it's working very, very slowly so again, I shall give it more time. Dang, it sucks cause school starts tomorrow and I was hoping that my skin would clear up a little bit it hasn't quite done that yet. I have to remind myself have to be patient with this product.Oh, I'd also like to add that this product hasn't been extremely dry on my face, at times it gets a little dry but I usually put moisturizer and it's all good. But my skin is oily to begin with so I don't know if that plays any role. I'm also concerned about another thing... I apply differin between my eyebrows and also around it. I know in the package it says that your not suppose to apply the product in areas your going to wax. But I really wanna get my eyebrows done, and I was wondering if anybody knows what's gonna happen. Like if I do get my eyebrows waxed, is going to irritate my skin or it's just gonna hurt even more then it usually does. I feel so stupid wondering about this but I really wanna get my eyebrows done. Anyways, I shall continue to update weekly or if anything extreme happens to my skin  -summerPs I apologize for the some spelling errors. I posted this on my iPod and it's more difficult...haha

About a week.

So I've been using Differin xp 0.3 gel for about a week on my face. I don't really know what to say...I'm not seeing any results but it's only been a week so I think I still need to give it more time. I'm just waiting and dreading for this "initial breakout" but it hasn't really happened...well sorta. I'm getting these bumps on my forehead (which is the only place I apply differin) so maybe that's a good sign? I read that is what differin is suppose to do, bring out all your pimples and shit. But these bumps are pretty small other than that it's not this huge, awful breakout that I've read from other people's experiences. The weird thing is that I'm breaking out on my cheeks. First of all, I don't usually break out there and second, I'm not even applying differin in that area so I have no idea how I'm breaking out there. I'm thinking it might be from my moisturizer but I'm not sure. I use Cetpahil Daily Facial moisturizer and I apply it at night too. But I don't think it's that though, I'm not sure. I'm thinking of applying differin on my cheeks as well but for now I'll just apply on my forehead and my T-zone. I've also been putting differin on my chest and it's been about 2 weeks. All I can say is that I'm getting more pimples than usual. They're not huge, big, red zitz. They're just little ones but there's a couple of them and I have no idea where they came from. Again, maybe this means that the product is doing it's job. I just hate how this product brings out your pimples in the surface at first and I have a feeling that's what's going to happen to my face if I give it a couple more weeks. ): Anyways, I shall continue to update. Hopefully this works for me.... -Summer P.S - Merry Christmas!

Hello. :D

So I'm new here and I decided to start this blog because hopefully somebody will read it and help them out for those who are using Differin XP gel 0.3 and I guess this blog is for me as well and to keep track of how I'm doing.

I'm a teenager with moderate-severe acne. I've had acne since junior high and I've pretty much tried everything. I've been using Proactiv Solution for about 3 years and at first it was working great for me. Just last year I had clear skin but all of a sudden I started breaking out and it seemed like proactiv wasn't working for me anymore.

So about a month ago my derma prescribed me with Differin 0.3 gel. Now it took me about a month to finally use it on my face because I needed to find a good cleanser to use it with. (Right now I'm using Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser) Also, I'm using Differin on my chest and the doctor said that it was fine for me to use it. About a month ago, I did start using Differin on my chest but I was such an idiot because I used with a product with salicylic acid. Bad choice. My skin felt like it was on fucking fire and it hurt like a bitch. Eventually I stopped using it for a week and my skin went back to normal. Now, I started to use differin on my chest again about 5 days ago and so far it's been going ok. I've noticed that there's more bumps but I think that's what it suppose to do.

Anyways, tonight was the first night I put Differin on my face. Well, actually I just put a little bit on my forehead and that was it. It's weird because you're not suppose to put Differin around your nose and lips but that's where I'm breaking out so I don't know what to do about that....

So hopefully tomorrow morning my skin isn't gonna be all red and peeled...I've read a lot of stories like that and it's seriously scared the shit out of me to use this product.

Well, I shall try to post here and tell you guys how Differin is working for me. I really hope this is going to be the miracle drug for me.

Woww, this post is so lengthy...haha, I apoligize. I tend to blab.
