Accutane Days - Info

I started on 40 mg a day, then 80 mg and 40 mg alternating days, then 80 mg a day, then 120 mg once a week with 80 mg the other days. I was on it for 6 months, plus one extra to get rid of the scars and marks.

Accutane Days

Hi, my name is Alexa D'Orazio and I am 17 years old. I started accutane when I was 16. My acne had come and gone and had gradually gotten worse as I aged. I first got acne when I was 11 or 12. Some people made fun of me, but it didn't really affect me. I wore a bit of make-up to cover it, but that would make it look like skin colored bumps. My acne was sort of cystic. I was tired of looking in the mirror and feeling oil and gross bumps that hurt. Some products worked before, but it was like my skin or body got used to it then built up a resistance. I tried over the counter creams and washes and prescription cream and pills. Finally I was referred to a Derm. who put me on accutane. It made my joints stiff and my skin dry - very dry. Cracked lips and peeling chin mainly. I had to stop sports because it would put too much strain on my joints. I also lost mst of my flexibility, but am slowly getting it back since finishing accutane. My back hurt the first few weeks, and the first few days I had unreal pressure in my head that hurt so bad. After 2 months my acne got SO much worse. Then after 3.5 months it got better real quick. I don't know what will happen to my body in later years from being on accutane, but it was worth it - i say that now. I hope to put pictures up or at least a link. So tell me how to do that and I will so that you can see my results.
