Introduction

Hello everyone!

I just found this site today and after lurking around for about an hour, I decided to join. Hopefully I can find someone out there who has the same skin problems as I do and hopefully I can finally have clear skin! Every week I'm going to try to post pictures of my skin.

I promise my entries won't be this long from now on! But I figured that in order to find the solution, you'd have to know everything about me and how that might affect my skin, right?

About my skin:

I'm going to call this mild to moderate acne. It is pretty consistent. I've been having this probelm for YEARS (at least 5 years..) I breakout on both cheeks, the chin and the forehead. After reading the "What is Acne?" section to this site, I can't quite decide what I have. I believe it is just whiteheads papules and occasional pustules? When I get pictures up, hopefully someone can confirm this or correct me.

I also get acne on my chest, not as severe but noticable.

I also get acne on my back, not as noticeable but it's there. This is gross but when I scratch my back, I seem to scratch some bumps and some of these little hard, sometimes clear sometimes a milky color things come out. I'm not sure what that is. I get those on my face as well.

About Senior2011:

My username is because I'm going to be a senior in highschool this fall! I am very excited and very determined to clear my skin for senior pictures, prom and graduation. I hope I can do it.

I am a latina teenager. I will be turning 18 this fall.

Possible stuff causing my acne:

Hormones?: I'm not quite sure about this. Perhaps I'm just hormonally messed up. I haven't got a chance to ask my doctor, I just told her all my "symptoms" that I believe were because of hormones. She thought it all was normal. Anyway.

I'm short. I'm about 4'11". No one in my household is that short. My father isn't the tallest dude in the world, but still. My sister is going to be 15 and she's passing me.

My cycle isn't normal. In fact, my last period was May 29. It's August 26. I am sometimes on schedule for a few months, then out of no where I skip a few. But then my cramps are.. severe. I get sick. Vomitting, headaches.. etc.

Unwanted hair. Possibly just cause I'm latina. My sister seems to have the same problem.

Diet?: I eat white rice, pasta, beans, beef, chicken, some vegetables. Usually.

Because it's summer, my parents often do not want to cook and we order pizza. This averages from 4 to 5 times a month.

I love chocolate.

I also drink a lot of orange juice and lemonade. So I think I'm pretty up there with vitamin C.

I'm doing my best to drink water but.. it's hard! I can't drink something with no flavor!

Green Tea. I'm going for one mug a day in the morning.

Stress?: Well I don't quite know how to measure stress... But anyway. I'm going to be a senior. College stuff to do. I'd say I got some stress lol..

What I'm Using Right Now:

Clean&Clear Advantage 3-In-1 Exfoliating Cleanser with Benzoyl Peroxide 5% 2 times a day (2 weeks at least.. I saw SOME results at first but I think it's wearing off?)

Clean&Clear Advantage Acne-Spot Treatment with Salicylic Acid 2% 2 times a day (same as above)

Clean&Clear Dual Action Moisturizer with Salicylic Acid 0.5% (Oil-Free) 2 times a day (1 week or so. I think it's making my skin more oily..)

Lemon Juice once a day (2 days)

Zinc once a day (4 days)

Vitamin E once a day (2 days)

Homemade Mask**- emergency use? Whenever my skin gets worse and I feel like I need to take action.

**- Honey, Cinnamon, some Lemon Juice and some Green Tea around my face. I leave it on for as long as I can from 30 minutes to hours. I think it works. Not a miracle worker but it does SOMETHING...

Closing:

So yes, nice to meet you all. Hopefully someone around here can help me! :)

I will be posting pictures later today I think. I'm kind of in a hurry!
