:surprised:

Ok, so I started back on my regimen that I created myself.

Consisting of:

morning:

-scrub with St.Ives Invigorating scrub.

-tone with Clean and Clear sensitive skin astringent.

-moisturize with pHisoderm oil free spf 15 moisturizer.

night:

-wash with anti-bacterial soap.

-tone with witch hazel.

-spot treat with clean and clear persa gel 10% benzoyl peroxide.

AND THE RESULTS...

my skin is on and off. some days it's almost completely clear. other times, it's a mess. I think it's mainly just hormonal acne breakouts that I get, and I don't know what to do about those.

I've been washing my makeup brushes, I have stuck to the same makeup, besides concealer which I will get into in a minute, and I have stuck to the regimen of my own, consistently, and have even tried then and again to remove my makeup with extra virgin olive oil.

The extra virgin olive oil, I have used a few times. I put it on my dry face, rub it in, then wipe it off with a dry wash cloth. Then I wash like normal with the anti-bacterial soap. I haven't really seen a difference using this, other than maybe a few new pimples. and that's why I'm afraid to proceed with using it. Although, I have tried a new product, it's from DHC, it's the Deep Cleansing Oil. My fiances mom buys from there, and she gave me a few samples of it which I really like.

It takes ALL of my makeup off, and is amazing. the website, where you can buy it is:

www.DHCcare.com

I haven't actually purchased this though, because I don't have the money to buy it. It's a bit pricey, but I'm considering investing in it since it works so well. The only thing that stumps me about this product is that it's just olive oil, with some other ingredients mixed in. The other ingredients make it water soluble, so it just washes right off with water, which with extra virgin olive oil, it takes some soap to get it all off.

If I could find a way to make my own deep cleansing oil, I may just have to do that so I don't have to spend so much money on the DHC brand.

And onto my new concealer concoction...

I have been searching and searching and searching for a concealer that is

1. light enough for my skin tone.

2. one that I can find at a drugstore.

3. one that won't break me out.

4. that is full coverage to hide my acne scars.

I haven't had any luck! until now. I made my own, by mixing 2 concealers that I KNOW I can use without breaking me out.

So here's how I did it, in case it may help out anyone....

Supplies:

-Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse concealer in Fair (Light 0-1) - the lightest color they have.

-Maybelline cover stick in white.

-paper plate.

-Q-tips.

-and hands that are clean!

First, the reason I did this, was because the dream mousse concealer, although it was the lightest color they provided, was still not light enough for my skin tone.

Here's how you mix:

-take all of the dream matte mousse concealer, and with a Q-tip, scoop it out into a pile on the paper plate.

-next take a third of the white cover stick, and cut it off, or break it, and put it in a pile on the other side of the paper plate.

-now, little by little, on another section of the plate, mix the two products together accordingly. I mixed all of the white cover stick with about a half of the dream mousse concealer. This made it light enough for my skin tone.

-Make sure to mix well, get as many clumps out as you can. You can also use your fingers, just scrape the excess product off of your fingers and back into the dream mousse concealer pot.

-Now, with the mixed products, scoop it back into the dream mousse container, and use the rim of the container as a leaven-er. Scrap the excess off of the Q-tip or your finger using the rim, to get it all into the container.

With this combination of concealers, I have found MY perfect match. It offers incredible coverage, perfect color, and it doesn't break me out.

If this helped anyone at all, I will be so happy!

Let me know if this helped you!!!!! And I will update again shortly. =)

Good luck all!

I started my new regimen, the one I created on my own, about 2 1/2 to 3 months ago.

It was working amazingly! my skin was almost completely clear! I have stuck to that regimen, and all of a sudden, my face breaks out like a mother! Out of the blue! AND IT'S HORRIBLE! worse than before! there are pimples everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know what could have gone wrong, the only thing I can think of that I haven't done, is wash my make-up brushes every week like I was before. but I don't even know! All I know is that I'm really ticked about it. I also stopped using my face scrub every morning like I was before, so maybe that's what's wrong. I don't know, but I'm going to try and stick with it EXACTLY and get back to washing my makeup brushes every week like I should. Hopefully that helps.

If anyone has any tips, or has found any good products/home remedies that clears acne really well, let me know.

I hate pimples! and I'm really hoping that my face clears up soon!

I started my own regimen about 2 months ago. The recommended regimen was drying out my face too much and it was making my acne worse. Well, since using my own regimen, my face has almost completely cleared up, even with the times of the month when I get period breakouts.

My regimen consists of...

-regular antibacterial soap, from walmart (the pink kind). every morning and night.

-St.Ives fresh skin scrub every other morning. (to exfoliate dead skin cells).

-Clean and Clear sensitive skin astringent in the mornings.

-Dickinson's witch hazel toner at night.

(if my skin is feeling dry from using the C&C toner every morning, I switch it up and substitute the Dickinson's witch hazel toner a few mornings instead of using the Clean and Clear)

-Clean and Clear persa gel. 10% Benzoyl Peroxide pimple cream, at night. only on the spots.

-Dove Total Moisture Moisturizer w/SPF 15 or pHisoderm moisturizer w/SPF 15 in the mornings.

This has been working wonders for me. I do wear makeup also. And with this regimen, and the type of makeup I've been using, I haven't had any problems with my skin breaking out.

My makeup consists of...

-Covergirl Clean liquid makeup for sensitive skin.

-Maybelline Coverstick concealer.

-N.Y.C New York Color Smooth Skin Pressed Powder.

-Bonnebell Glimmer Bronzer.

-Jane blushing cheeks blush.

This has all been working well and hasn't broken me out. I also clean my makeup brushes every week. But recently, I started using a different concealer that I got from the dollar store. It is

-L.A. Colors mystic foundation/concealer stick.

It has mineral oil in it and I wasn't sure if it would break me out or not, but I decided to give it a try. I've been using it for 3 or 4 days now, and it has started to break me out. So I dont recommend using this concealer. I'm going to stop using it, although I love how well it covers, but I'm going to have to find a new oil-free concealer that I can use.

I have also recently just read that extra virgin olive oil is good for your skin and can help get rid of acne. I am going to try it and put a little bit on my face tonight because it is kind of dry. If it helps reduce the new pimples I have I may start using it at night. I will experiment and see.

I hope this has helped some of you out. =) and I will update you in a bit.

I gave up on the regimen. I know, it says you shouldn't, just wait it out, but it was drying out my skin so freaking bad, and my acne was getting worse. So, I decided to start a regimen of my own, which has been working quite well so far.

Morning: wash with Dove soap. (every other morning use St.Ives scrub). tone with Clean and Clear sensitive skin astringent. moisturize with Dove moisturizer + SPF 15.

Night: wash with Dove soap. tone with Dickinson's Witch Hazel. spot treat with Clean and Clear Persa Gel. (10% Benzoyl Peroxide) moisturize with Cetaphil moisturizer (if needed). (I usually don't moisturize every night, only because the witch hazel toner moisturizes my skin enough.)

BUT...

I have just recently, this past week, substituted the Dove soap for antibacterial soap. And it has made quite a difference. It has cleared up my acne, and I haven't gotten any new pimples.

I've been doing this regimen for about a month now, and it seems to be working quite well. It's about 'that time of the month' and by now, my face would be full blown horrible. Pimples everywhere...but my left cheek, where the acne usually gets the worst, is actually all cleared up, all except for my scars, but I haven't gotten any new ones, and by now, I would have a ton.

So I have faith that the regimen I'm using now, is going to work wonders. It's inexpensive, and I have very stubborn skin, and this is something that's actually working. I'm excited! :D
