Ok, so I started back on my regimen that I created myself.
-scrub with St.Ives Invigorating scrub.
-tone with Clean and Clear sensitive skin astringent.
-moisturize with pHisoderm oil free spf 15 moisturizer.
-wash with anti-bacterial soap.
-tone with witch hazel.
-spot treat with clean and clear persa gel 10% benzoyl peroxide.
AND THE RESULTS...
my skin is on and off. some days it's almost completely clear. other times, it's a mess. I think it's mainly just hormonal acne breakouts that I get, and I don't know what to do about those.
I've been washing my makeup brushes, I have stuck to the same makeup, besides concealer which I will get into in a minute, and I have stuck to the regimen of my own, consistently, and have even tried then and again to remove my makeup with extra virgin olive oil.
The extra virgin olive oil, I have used a few times. I put it on my dry face, rub it in, then wipe it off with a dry wash cloth. Then I wash like normal with the anti-bacterial soap. I haven't really seen a difference using this, other than maybe a few new pimples. and that's why I'm afraid to proceed with using it. Although, I have tried a new product, it's from DHC, it's the Deep Cleansing Oil. My fiances mom buys from there, and she gave me a few samples of it which I really like.
It takes ALL of my makeup off, and is amazing. the website, where you can buy it is:
I haven't actually purchased this though, because I don't have the money to buy it. It's a bit pricey, but I'm considering investing in it since it works so well. The only thing that stumps me about this product is that it's just olive oil, with some other ingredients mixed in. The other ingredients make it water soluble, so it just washes right off with water, which with extra virgin olive oil, it takes some soap to get it all off.
If I could find a way to make my own deep cleansing oil, I may just have to do that so I don't have to spend so much money on the DHC brand.
And onto my new concealer concoction...
I have been searching and searching and searching for a concealer that is
1. light enough for my skin tone.
2. one that I can find at a drugstore.
3. one that won't break me out.
4. that is full coverage to hide my acne scars.
I haven't had any luck! until now. I made my own, by mixing 2 concealers that I KNOW I can use without breaking me out.
So here's how I did it, in case it may help out anyone....
-Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse concealer in Fair (Light 0-1) - the lightest color they have.
-Maybelline cover stick in white.
-and hands that are clean!
First, the reason I did this, was because the dream mousse concealer, although it was the lightest color they provided, was still not light enough for my skin tone.
Here's how you mix:
-take all of the dream matte mousse concealer, and with a Q-tip, scoop it out into a pile on the paper plate.
-next take a third of the white cover stick, and cut it off, or break it, and put it in a pile on the other side of the paper plate.
-now, little by little, on another section of the plate, mix the two products together accordingly. I mixed all of the white cover stick with about a half of the dream mousse concealer. This made it light enough for my skin tone.
-Make sure to mix well, get as many clumps out as you can. You can also use your fingers, just scrape the excess product off of your fingers and back into the dream mousse concealer pot.
-Now, with the mixed products, scoop it back into the dream mousse container, and use the rim of the container as a leaven-er. Scrap the excess off of the Q-tip or your finger using the rim, to get it all into the container.
With this combination of concealers, I have found MY perfect match. It offers incredible coverage, perfect color, and it doesn't break me out.
If this helped anyone at all, I will be so happy!
Let me know if this helped you!!!!! And I will update again shortly. =)
Good luck all!
