Day 8 Fraxel Repair: RED!

So exactly last Friday morning I got the Fraxel Repair done and I am still RED. I'm not exactly sure when the redness will go away but it's so bad. The swelling has gone down considerably but I'm as red as ever. There's still a bit of heat coming from my face and I'm peeling like crazy. The thing I'm worried about is I have to go to work on Monday and I'm sure the redness will not go unnoticed.

My face is still extremely red and there has been a little more swelling than I had on Day 4. Other than that, I'm just peeling. I still look scary so I'm starting to worry if my face will ever return to normal.

My face is still extremely red and itchy but the swelling has gone down a bit. My eyes aren't half shut anymore and I don't look like a complete monster. But now I'm peeling. And I'm thankful because it's those little brown crusty spots that are slowly peeling off.

I am icing my face and doing vinegar soaks to alleviate the swelling and itching. It does help a lot.

So this morning, I woke up extremely swollen; my face was super fat and my eyes were nearly shut. I wanted to cry! My face is even redder than before but the worst part is my face is itchy and I can't scratch it. I've been doing vinegar soaks and putting an ice pack on to alleviate the itchy and swelling but it helps only a little. I still feel a bit of heat coming off my face too. Overall I'm okay. I feel lightheaded, dizzy, and nauseous but I'm not sure if that's from the meds I'm on or from the swelling.

As mentioned before, if anyone can give me tips on how to post pictures let me know. I noticed prior to me getting the treatment, I couldn't find that many pictures of people's progress. There were just a lot of before and after pictures. So I'm taking pictures everyday and would love to share my progress.

The bleeding has pretty much stopped, but now I am really red and swollen. Basically I looked burned and beat up. I can feel a bit of heat coming from the treated area so I have been icing it and I also have small brown dots all over the treated area. I also have anti-viral and anti-bacteria medications I have to take. So many meds.

Day 1 Fraxel Repair

On Friday, I went in to my doctor's office for the fraxel repair treatment.

I sat for an hour with numbing cream on my face and received a shot to alleviate the swelling associated with the laser. Then I was moved into the room with the laser. The nurse injected me with nerve blockers to numb my face even more and inserted something in my eye so I couldn't see anything. Then it was time.

Since I had so much of the nerve blocker injected into me, the laser wasn't too bad. I felt the heat and what felt like hundreds of rubber bands snapping against me. And in about 15 minutes, I was all done. My face felt a little hot and it felt like a really, really bad sunburn. The doctor's office kept me around for a little after the procedure was done to make sure everything was okay and to set up for post op appointment. They soaked some gauze in vinegar and put that on my face for about 20 minutes. So from the moment I checked into my doctor's office until the moment I left was about 2 hours and 15 minutes.

On my way home, I could tell the nerve blockers were starting to wear off because it tasted like I had just visited the dentist.

When I got home I was actually horrified at the way my face looked. I was bleeding, I looked burned...not sunburned but burned. There were little tiny, brown, crusty holes the size of a needlepoint all over my face. As the day wore on, the treated area became darker.

Some Tips Please

Does anyone know how to post pictures on the blogs? I want to show my progress with the fraxel repair treatments but can't seem to get the images uploaded correctly. Thanks!

Acne Scars

I have been suffering from acne since 1997. I broke out with severe acne for several years, during which I tried everything from proactiv to facials to control them. The acne has cleared up a bit and i break out occasionally but now I'm left with acne scars on my cheeks and forehead. The forehead isn't as noticeable so I'm mostly worried about my cheeks. I tried almost everything to treat that and have already spent thousands of dollars.

As my last resort, I turned to fraxel repair.
