My journey to clear skin! :)

Day 21

For the past week I have basically took care of the dead skin. I'm happy to say I don't flake anymore; I've been mixing 6 drops of jojoba oil with my night moisturizer every night for the past week and gradually using less as my skin adapted more and more to the BP. I now use 3 to 4 drops and I don't feel dry anymore. Oh and I also used a mild exfoliating scrub yesterday which helped a lot. I was careful to be gentle though.

My skin still gets pretty red + itchy after applying BP so I think I will only apply once a day forever. But we'll see. I'm now using 3/4th of a finger as of today.

For the past two weeks I only got 1 very small pimple that healed very easily and 2 cysts; 1 on my forehead last week and another on my chin the day before my period. I couldn't resist to pierce them with a needle I have to admit.. I can't stand them they're too painful. And they went away the next day with a red mark. Bp really is miraculous... I wish I tried this way sooner when I first found this site a long time ago.

Aside from what I just said I didn't get any acne! Not even from wearing my glasses and it used to break me out in only a couple hours! I'm 95% clear in only 3 weeks I can't believe it. Even my blackhead infested nose is on the right way.

Day 8

My skin has never flaked so much. I wear foundation mixed with moisturizer during the day so it isn't too bad until I scratch an itchy spot and it flakes like dandruff it's pretty disturbing to see up close in the mirror... Anyway I want to exfoliate so bad but I don't want to make things worse :D. Should I do it or wait for my jojoba oil to arrive (probably next Monday)?

I have to admit my skin is a lot less oily on the t-zone during the day which I love :D

I still only apply once a day because my third of a finger of BP still burns and gets me red. I'm happy to see I'm almost clear, but my period is in two weeks and I suspect I will break out at least once until then. Let's see!

Day 6

My skin is even more flaky around my mouth and between my eyebrows. I've been applying an insane amount of moisturizer but it still flakes. It's starting to me make me self-conscious.. but I know it's only until I get the jojoba oil. Can't wait!

Day 5

My skin is alright this morning not red nor itchy anymore, but the dryness has settled. I've already applied moisturizer twice since getting out of the shower. Very weird feeling for me as I've had oily skin all my life and rarely have any dry spots on my body. Anyway I have ordered a bottle of jojoba oil from Dan and hope it will make my skin feel better.

I haven't applied BP this morning I will tonight though. I'm relieved to see it was only irritation and not an allergy :D.

Update: Flaky skinnnn.. wish the jojoba oil bottle would teleport itself right here in my hands.

Day 4

I have been using BP twice a day on my face for the past two days because I thought my skin wasn't too sensitive. :D Well I will probably cut back to once a day for the rest of the week because my face feels like I have a sunburn. It's a little red, itchy/burning and it feels tense when I move my mouth. It only goes away about 5 to 6 hours after applying. It's not unbearable, but I have a pretty high tolerance for pain so maybe it hurts too much to be normal. I feel that if it continues to itch like that for ~10hours a day for the next 10 days I might go crazy. So I will definitely only apply once as of now. Also, I've applied a thick moisturizer twice a day and even though my face feels a bit dry, I can still see oil on my t-zone it's kinda weird.. but it's an interesting experiment!

As of day 4, my forehead has started to clear up a little bit, but this morning I found a big new pimple on my chin. Anyway it's only the beginning.

I will post a picture of my face in my album to keep track!

Update: Okay looks like I went too quick and got mild contact dermatitis (duh..) so I will only reapply tomorrow night (or even the day after tomorrow in case it's still too irritated) and leave my skin a rest it's still itchy and weird feeling. I checked my temperature and it was up to 37.3°C which is not too suprising since my face has been inflamed for the past hours. Anyway I went ahead and applied pure aloe vera gel all over my poor skin. I hope everything goes well.

Day 1

Ok so I received my 2.5% BP today I could not wait to try it! After gently washing my face I used my index's first phalanx* worth of gel on my entire face focusing mainly on my forehead and then nose/chin (I only get 1-2 pimples on my cheeks). I then applied Neutrogena Continuous Hydration which is my night cream, but I wasn't supposed to go out the rest of the day so I wanted to use as much moisture as I could.

So far it's tingling a little and I've applied it more than 2 hours ago but it's nothing unbearable. Lemon juice is much more brutal than that... lol

For now I will only use it once a day for the rest of the week and I'll try to apply it twice next week. We'll see.

*I have small hands so it's about a big pea's size

Hi! I'm Mymy. I'm 21 years old, 5'9'', 130 lbs and I've had mild to moderate acne since I was 13. It is mainly on my face but I also get pimples on my chest/shoulders and upper back. I thought it was getting better for the past year or so but it suddenly got worse during the past 2 months.

I just recently started Dan's regimen and this is what I use:

FACE (my skin type is combination; oily on t-zone/normal on cheeks)

- Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser

- Acne.org 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide

- Neutrogena Anti-Wrinkle cream SPF 15

- Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser

- Acne.org 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide

- Neutrogena Continuous Hydration cream - night

BODY (my skin type is normal)

Right now I'm using Neutrogena pink grapefruit Body Wash on trouble areas and it's working ok. When I order my other BP batch I will try Dan's 10%AHA as treatment.

I also made a photo album monitoring my progress by weeks. I will make it public shortly.

Wish me luck everyone! :D
