My way of getting clear

Entries in this blog

Day 4

I went to my derm today and I'm continuing my 20mg accutan and 10%BP treatment. I decided today to change cleanser and moitsturizer from OXY to Eucerin. The reason is that when I use OXY I don't feel that it moisturizes my face well enough and those Eucerin products are made specially for very dry skin so I just tried them out and they feel nice. No new breakout today which is a good thing.

My hands are very dry these days as a side effect of Accutane but I have another Eucerin lotion for that. Works pretty well.

Day 3

I had a new breakout on day 3. Kind of sad about that. It's on the chin which was begining to be a good zone for me. But it's not that big and hopefully will fade away soon.

Day 2

So it's end of day 2. I did all of the tings listed and no new breakout today! I'm very happy about that. I can't see much change on the breakouts that were there before but some of them are not as red as 1-2 days ago.

My thought today is on dry lips because I have extremely dry lips today. I know that my dry lips are cause by accutane and that this is a temporary problem for years to come for me. I have my good and bad days when it comes to dry lips. Lip balms and petroleum jelly are doing a good job in the good days but in the bad days it's like nothing can stop my lips from drying and drying. I try to drink lots of water throughout the day.

So I'll leave it here and tell you tomorrow how day 3 went, hopefully 3rd day in a row with out a new breakout that would be awesome!!:)

Day 1

I followed all my steps today. My skin feels rather good and no new spots came on today:)

My thought today is on dairy products. It's really a lot of food you have to skip if you want to skip dairy completely milk, butter, cheese, yougurt and other dairy stuff. I find it kind of hard to find alternative healthy foods to all of that. However it seems like a lot of people are seeing some great results from skipping dairy. For me it hasn't done much but I haven't completely skipped it in more then 1-2 days.

Skin status: Same as yesterday. Nothing more, nothing less.

Day 0

Tomorrow I say it's day one but I started off tonight be changing to clean sheets and i washed my face and put on 10% BP in similar way as Dan does in the regimen an took 15 mg of zink. Avoiding masturbation for all those days will probably be the hardest part. I'll update with the progress of the first day tomorrow.

My plan

Today is easter and I've been eating some bad stuff like chocolate today. Starting tomorrow i will follow this plan.(In the brackets I write my currents status on all of those things)

  • 20mg Accutane when I wake up(been on that aldready for 3 months and still going)
  • Shower and wash with OXY face wash(been doing that)
  • Multivitamin+omega3(been taking that about 4 times a week)
  • No dairy products(been trying to eat few but haven't cut it out completely(
  • No white sugars(mostly of that already)
  • Exercise 5 times a week(been doing that for 10 years)
  • Multivitamin with dinner(somtimes forget)
  • Shower with OXY face wash in the evening(sometimes, but now everynight)
  • 10% BP before going to bed(4-5 times a week, but now everynight)
  • Change bedsheets every 2 days(new)
  • Zinc supplement before going to sleep(new)
  • No masturbation or sex at all(new)
  • No alcohol(don't drink that much anyway)

That's my plan. I will update you with status every day. On day 10 I will review the plan and make changes that might help. Feel free to tell me your thoughts and ideas about possible changes.

My current status:

Face: This is my biggest problem area. My forehead is coverd in acne and I have breakouts there almost every day. I feel some weird feeling in my forehead right now. Probably because of chocolate eating today. Also the cheeks, jaw, and neck are problem areas but I kind of have the chin and upper lip under control now.

Back and shoulders: Minor problems compared to face

Rest of the body: Occaisonal breakouts but currently none.

My history

For the past 10 years I have tried the following

  • Accutane(twice)
  • Benzoyl Peroxide
  • Retin A
  • All kinds of OTC stuff
  • Acupuncture
  • Diet changes
  • Antibiotics
  • Steroids(prednizolon)
  • Laser treatment
  • Some "nature" wonder stuff

Nothing has worked so far.
