I decided to track my journey on Retin A and get feed back from others about their experiences. So i have offically been on Retin A now for 10 days. I was prescribed Retin A 0.05% for use every other day or every other two days. My dermatologist also told me i could use the Differin gel I already had on the nights i did not use the Retin A. I have yet to do that since i am using a BP gel in the mornings so i didnt want to put too much on my face. My acne has been around for years, i am now 26, but it has never been bad. I am simply tired of having little bumps on my forehead and blackheads on my chin and nose. Throughout college my face was okay until i got on birth control and thats when the bumps got worse. I decided to go on Differin and stop taking the birth control. That worked for a bit but it didnt give me the results i wanted. So i went back to the doctor and asked for Accutane... of course she wouldnt give it to me saying my face did not need it. So here I am on day 10 of using Retin A and i am just starting to see a little peeling on my chin. I havent had the dreaded initial breakout and i hope i dont get it!! that is what i am most worried about. I can't really tell any difference in my skin other then the peeling so hopefully results will come soon!
I also get my eyebrows and upper lip waxed every two weeks and i know you are not supposed to wax on Retin A but i am happy to report i got waxed yesterday and did not burn! The girl who waxes me uses hard wax and was extremely careful with my skin, only doing tiny strips at a time. Hopefully i dont burn later on in the treatment.
Anyway, i was hoping to get some feedback from people in my same situation and let me know how their progress has been. Mostly I am concerned with the initial breakout as i am going on vacation in about 20 days so i want my skin to be semi clear!
