Yeah

Like I said in my previous post, I don't believe that any product will work for me anymore. All I've been doing is drinking a lot of water and eating healthy. Slowly but surely my scars will heal.

encaskcus

I have really just stopped believing that any product or procedure will make my scarring heal faster. I stopped washing my face a few weeks ago, I don't see any difference. But then again I don't really get acne anymore it's just my scarring. The only product that I apply to my face is a light cetaphil moisturizer after I get out of the shower. I also steam my face once a week. I don't put my face to close to the water though. Although it doesn't hurt my face, I'm still afraid that it might damage my skin. Scarring on the right side is still bad. The left is not as bad. Over time I can tell it has healed. As long as I don't pester it, it will heal. I've done reading and simply put skin cells regenerate over time. My dermatologist says they are just acne scars and there is not denting or anything like that so eventually my skin should be back to normal right? I guess I will just have to wait and see.

I think I might start updating this blog more often. Or maybe I shouldn't. Thinking about my scars to much may prove to be detrimental. Who knows? I think I have suffered enough emotional pain that my pain tolerance should be set pretty high. I wonder if anybody reads my blog anymore. I have fifteen thousand views but over the course of what? Three years? Well those of you who are actually reading this I would really weight the pros and cons of taking accutane. I know my personality has changed dramatically. But then again I was taking a pretty high dosage of it. Do I regret taking it? Probably not. I wouldn't be who I am today if I hadn't taken it. I would just do certain things different while I was on it thats for damn sure. Ugh. Well I guess that's all I have to say, until next time.

So as you can tell by the blog entry I have been off accutane for quite some time now. I still get the occasional break out every now and then but that isn't a big deal. What is a big deal is now my skin is scarred worse than ever before. I was taking a look at some of my previous blog posts and I remember writing that my scars are starting to fade and everything is looking better but I don't know what happened. The skin on my forehead, nose, mouth, and inner cheek area is perfect. But on both sides of my face where my sideburns would be, is completely scarred. And it is bad. And there is this thing that is inside my skin on one side. I went to my dermatologist months ago and he said it is just a cyst that is underneath the skin and wanted to give me a steroid shot but I wanted to go the natural way and let it come out on its own. After a couple months it's still here.

I'm usually a pretty patient person. The scars that I had before faded after sometime and I'm just going to hope these do as well.

And just a tip for anyone is on accutane or is just getting off, if you start to develop ANY signs of early scarring, AVOID THE SUN AT ALL COSTS AND WEAR SPF WHEN YOU CAN'T. I am pretty sure this is what caused my scarring.

So my face is still scarred. Not as bad as it was before though. I got a lot of sun recently and my tan face really reduced the visibility of the scars which was nice. I also notice that the scars on my face are really starting to clear up now. There are just two places on my face where the scars are really really red so once those start to fade I'm sure my face will look a hell of a lot better. They are all starting to fade away slowly but surely....

Don't Understand

I honestly don't understand why my face is scarring like this. I know I took accutane for 12 months in total but I didn't pick my face at all!!?! I don't even know where all these red marks are coming from. Yeah the small ones I can deal with, I'll admit to picking at those but these big red ones are just a mystery. They is just a big clusterfuck of red marks on my upper cheek area. I really hope they will go away. I'm exfoliating my face once a week to help the scars heal. Hopefully this will go away in a few days like last time. Please go away.

400+ days post accutane

The right side of my face is a big red mess. I have no clue where all these red marks are coming from. They aren't pimples they are just red spots on my face. If you look at my face from an angle you can't even tell they are there but if you look straight at them, you can clearly see them. I have no clue what the hell is going on. I guess I'm just going to have to be patient and wait until they go away whenever that will be. Trying to remain optimistic.

Somewhere around 380 day post accutane. My scars have really started to fade now. The only problem that I had was a short lived breakout period which caused more scars because I was stupid enough to pick them... Well those scars are now finally starting to heal. The only problem that I have with my skin at the moment is that there are small indents where some of my scars used to be. Hopefully they start to fill in naturally.

I did however buy this product by Murad which is called their Environmental Shield Kit and it is suppose to help protect your skin from Environmental Damage (hence the name) and I just started to use it yesterday. I really love this product so far. The cleanser is really light and makes my skin feel nice, can't say anything about the toner yet, too soon to see result, and the spf moisturizer is nice as well.

So after having severe breakouts a month or two ago, my face is completely blemish free now; and on top of that all my scarring has dramatically decreased! The only scars that are even worth mentioning are on the left side of my face around my sideburns. The only thing I have done since then is drink a lot more water. I'll keep you posted

encaskcus

Okay so this is really weird. Three days ago I posted a blog entry saying that my faced started to break out again. Now my face is almost completely cleared again. I have only two small pimples on my face but the scarring is still there. The only thing that I have done since the previous post is drink a lot more water and touch my face a lot less so maybe that helped. We will see what happens.

So I stopped keeping track of the number of days after my accutane treatment but it is somewhere around 300 days i think. Anyways during this past month I started to break out like crazy! I got a hell of a lot of small pimples on my neck, jawline, and sides of my mouth. But now it seems as if the acne is slowly starting to go away. All I do is wash my face with neutrogena oil free acne wash and apply lotion once at night. Now from me breaking out just recently I have a bunch of red marks again and still have a little acne on the sides of my mouth. I haven't touched my face at all this past week and I think that might be helping. So unfortunately I have had two six month accutane treatments and my acne is still coming back! I probably won't go on accutane again just because my skin still seems very sensitive and will maybe wait a little longer before I even consider getting back on accutane.

=(

It looks like my scars are coming back and they look even worse than before =( I'm pretty upset about this but hopefully they will go away.

encaskcus

Recently I became ill and took antibiotics. So I feel better now but the medicine made me break out =( I know one of the side effects was dry skin but I got two maybe three of these blood blisters (I think) and they are pretty big. Hopefully they will go away soon.

218 days post accutane

So I noticed something very odd during my scar recovery period. I noticed that on some days my scars become more visible and a lot easier to see. I'm sure that there can be a number of things that might make this happen but can't really figure out what I'm doing that is making it happen to me.

For one it's winter, I don't really get sun much so it isn't because of the sun. Two my diet is fairly steady. I drink plenty of water a day and don't drink soda. Does anybody have and idea of what might cause this or had this happen to them?

All of your feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

214 days post accutane

Hi. So I haven't updated blog for almost two months now! I have been pretty busy I guess. So I still do get the occasional pimple or two but nothing really severe. The scars on my face are starting to slowly fade away. It has been 214 days post accutane and I'm just starting to notice some improvement so hopefully within a few more months there should be dramatic improvement. I have been drinking A LOT of water recently. I wash my face with just basic neutrogena face wash and steam my face about once a week. Everything is still going well =)

156 days post accutane

So as of right now I have no active acne. I still drink a lot of water every day. My acne scars are still there but I think they are fading really really slowly. Hopefully by next year some of them will be gone. Anyways everything is going pretty good =)

139 days post accutane

So I had a few pimples during this past week but it might be from my unhealthy diet I adopted this past week. I started eating healthy again and the pimples are pretty much gone. I still have my scars but they are fading slowly. I've been drinking a lot of water recently and at night I drink water with lemon juice.

On day 182 I might post the before and after pictures of my face. The before and after pictures are just pictures of me a week after accutane with really bad scarring, and day 182 will be after accutane but show how the scars healed up. I might just wait until a whole year to post them up I'll see how it goes.

No active acne. Still have scars but they seem to me that they are fading slowly. I still exfoliate with baking soda and apply apple cider vinegar to my face about once a week. I apply lotion to my face everyday and everything looks fine =)

Soo my skin is still looking fine. I current have no active acne. I do still have some scars. Like I said, they are just going to have to fade naturally over time. I'm hoping by a year they are completely faded. They really aren't that bad but I still want want them gone. I still GENTLY exfoliate with baking soda and after add a little apple cider vinegar to my face. I do that about once a week. So overall everything is going fine =)

92 days post accutane

92 days post accutane. My face is still clear. I did however break out a little bit. I'm pretty sure it was because of a day that I ate a hell of a lot of sweets. Anyways I still have red marks on my face. The apple cider vinegar and baking soda did fade them a little bit but it seems as if they are just as red. I'm pretty sure these scars are just going to have to fade by themselves. =( I read that it can take anywhere from months to years so I'll just have to wait and see.

75 days post accutane

75 days post acccutane now. My skin is still looking really well. The red marks that I had while on accutane have decreased dramatically. Some are still there but baking soda and apple cider vinegar works really really well. I use baking soda three to four times a week and the ACV once or twice. I did find two pimples on my head today but I used this new shampoo and Im pretty sure that is what it is from. Anyways everything is still going very well.

encaskcus

So the past two weeks went really well for me. I got a really nice tan without burning. I have also been applying baking soda and apple cider vinegar to my face two or three times a week. The apple cider vinegar works really really well! I was impressed with the results I got. After the first three days of exfoliating with baking soda then applying the vinegar to my face I saw the red marks vanish! The one thing I did notice is that one day I applied to much vinegar to my face and my face was really really oily the next two days so be very careful about that. I currently have no active acne.

35 days post accutane. I started to begin tanning. The whole left side of my face is near perfect. I only have a small acne scar on my cheek. The right side of my face is still having some scar problems. There is four maybe five scars including one fairly big one all on my cheek. If the big one was gone it would look a hell of a lot better. I'm going to my dermatologist soon and see what he suggests I should do with it. I currently have no active acne and none of the side effects that came with accutane. I think the drug is completely out of my system =)

encaskcus

Zeroing in on a month post accutane. No active acne. I can go without applying lotion or chapstick now but I still do it anyways. Red marks are still on my face. My forehead has absolutely no scars at all. It is mostly my cheeks and the scars are fairly small. Nine more days until I can go tanning =)

encaskcus

My skin definitely has a lot more moisturized now. The dryness is all gone. My lips do still tend to get dried up though. I remain acne free for about a month now. The red marks on my face are still there so I am guessing I will just need to wait it out. In thirteen days I will start to naturally tan and hopefully the sun will help with my red marks a little. My face still looks pale because I tried to avoid as much sun as possible during my seven month accutane course. I also heard that if sitting out in the sun for about 10-15 minutes WITHOUT sunscreen is good for you so I might try that a few times as well.

encaskcus

Skin dryness has decreased dramatically! Still have red marks on my face and I have a feeling that they are going to take a month or maybe more to start to fade. I have no active acne right now.
