Pros:

Works.

Cons:

I wish it was cheaper

This has been my facial soap of choice for the past 4 years after learning about it here. I'm a little lazy and I'm rough on my skin when doing the reg, but I'm still clear overall. This soap rocks!

Pros:

Large for a bar of soap. Ok fragrance. Makes my skin feel squeaky clean.

Cons:

May be a little drying.

I regularly enjoy both this and Basis bar soap.

Pros:

Cheap, prevent breakouts, has a nice fragrance.

Cons:

Hard to find in my country.

Used this for a month. I have to say this cleanser is the one for me. My face has been totally clear for the past 2 weeks, which was a miracle for me. Diet is another factor. So I guess internal and external both work hand-in-hand.

Pros:

Clean feeling, fragrance doesn't bother me. Lasts a while.

Cons:

Dries out skin, esp with use of Dan's BP! (Or any BP for that matter)

Too dry for my skin. I'll be trying something else.

Pros:

*It's yellow

Cons:

* Couldn't buy it in the UK so had to pay a fair bit of dosh for it to be shipped over here from the states.
* Brought my face up in redness and little spots
* Hard to maintain, have to buy a plastic soap carrier

I think I must have really sensitive skin, I'm not one that normally uses treatment.. I just wash my face with a bit of water under the shower normally. But my spots were getting bad, and I was getting all these little crispy bits of dead skin around my nose and cheeks. So I tried this little bar out, but after the first use, I don't think I'll use it again. I only lathered it a little bit before putting a bit around my nose area. It was on for about 10 seconds before I rinsed with cool shower water. When I got out the shower, my face was covered in residue, which took me ages to rinse off over the sink. After about 10 minutes, my face had more spots than I had before. My cheeks, nose and mouth area were most affected with unwanted redness. It might work for you, but I didn't enjoy my experience. This could be because I have naturally dry skin though, odd for a 17 year old white guy but hey. Might work for oily/combo skin?

Pros:

Non-irritating, little to no fragrance, cheap and effective.

Cons:

Not for those with dry skin.

After a rather disastrous stint with some of the liquid Cetaphil cleansers that are raved about by Paula Begoun my skin has finally started to return to normal after using Purpose. The Cetaphil for normal to oily has a fragrance in it that was giving me low-grade Rosacea, constant redness, little watery pustules, etc. The regular Cetaphil is so emollient that it is virtuallly worthless for those of us with oily skin. This product IS a little drying so unless you are younger with super oily skin you can probably get by with using it once a day and water the other times. Also, only leave it on your face briefly and rinse off with cool water. The only other products that compare arer Cetaphil Bar Cleanser (for those with drier skin) or Aveenobar Cleanser.

Pros:

Cheap

Cons:

It works so well the first few times I used it. My face felt extremely clean. Until maybe the 3rd day when it began to feel "squeakly" clean. That's when it started to get bad. My face went extremely dry, and even after moisturizer, it itched.

I wanted to try a "bar" product because I thought it'd be different. But I'm not too sure now. I gave this product more than a week, but it's obviously not working for me, since my face is too dry, itchy, and breaking out pretty bad. If this works for you, great. The only sure thing I think I can say is that when your face feels "squeakly" clean, that's actually NOT good. It's a sign that the bar is overdrying your face.

Pros:

Best soap for SENSITIVE SKIN/ ACNE. Very Cheap. Works Great!

Cons:

None

I tried EVERYTHING for my ACNE. Paid top dollar for skin products/prescriptions.Used Dermalogica, Clinique, etc. This is the only thing that clears and maintains healthy skin. I suggest using the Purpose Moisturizer with it. They just came out with a Redness Reducing moisturizer. It's a little more expensive ($14) but is amazing.
